yes finally the first gen towing something heavy and now the second gen needs to try it
More videos with your dad in them please. Father and son time is important and how cool is it that you both share a passion for diesel trucks and work together on them. Excellent video as always!
Scott Ryan I would if he wasn't working 99% of the time at the office... it's rare he's home let alone in a video
Great job on the video. That's a heavy load. Your numbers sound right on especially the EGT. I have an 06 ram 3500 with the edge system. It automatically dials back the tune when egt hits 1350. I had a 97 2500 12 valve. Loved it
Thanks a lot for the tips I gatta say I really enjoy just the fun of filming and editing some of the fun I have keep up the good work bro loving the truck
Love seeing you work on your truck! Keep up the good work man!
i like the rundown info on the first gen and the 7.3 and its great to see towing action too
Your videos have made me want to go buy me a diesel I currently have a gas truck but diesels are awesome👍
Great video. I did notice one thing though. When the brakes are applied on the first gen the goosnecks running lights came on. You need to check out the 7 way plug on the truck and route the sites correctly. Awesome truck though!
Thank you *EVERYONE* for watching band *SUBSCRIBING!* really appreciate it! And if you're new, I post daily content! Thanks!
LOUD 'N' PROUD love your videos and your trucks would be glad to put a loud and proud sticker on my truck and rep ya :) something like "loud and proud junkie" and would you be willing to rep my mud truck? The name of my truck is Outlaw
12 valves are the best, especially with a 5 speed, love em
the only issue you will find with towing with the first gen is the automatic transmission. and its not leaking oil its sweating power, that oil could be the cause of blow by, when you are on 8-15 pounds of boost for towing it tends to pressurize the crank case so there is a relive that a little bit of oil blows out of there.
Sup man! You were asking about full body injectors vs just the nozzles. The only thing that makes more or less fuel enter the motor is the nozzles. The nozzle just attaches to the the body of the injector. It's usually preferred to replace the nozzles AND the body when replacing injectors, but If not, always be sure to get old/used injectors Pop Tested before installing. Saves you headache in the long run! Good vid!
Love the videos brother 🤘 keep up the good work 👌
Awesome truck.
not sure what you have done for fuel filtration yet, but it's probably a good idea... great vids man, keep it up!
Love this vid man!! Little bit of every thing! All three beauties and some work! Keep it up man!
On your question on injectors. When your talk about injectors is the hole thing. Nozzle is a what is on the body of the injector you can change out your nozzle on the body of your injectors. Nozzle is where the fuel Atomizers in the cylinder or you can say it sprays diesel in the cylinder
If you're gonna keep working on those trucks you should get a topside creeper. It will help out a lot.
Great video, love the first gen just needs the rust fixed
I’m getting a first generation 91 tomorrow and can’t wait to do upgrades.
man your vid caught me on the way to the club, but the vid was worth sitting in the parking lot to watch. keep 'em coming
Y'all might want to look into getting a overload spring and air bags to help with the squatting of the first gen.
I knew the 1st gen could do it. The local junk yard 😂 that made me laugh so hard
12 VALVE GIVEAWAY LAUNCHING JUNE 1ST 2018!
Video with general details: ua-cam.com/video/Svk460crdFk/v-deo.html
Awesome truck bro!!!!!
Love my 7.3s have a 96 and 93.
Nozzles are literally what makes the difference of power on mechanical injectors such as the ones in a 12v or a 24v vp44 truck. Its just a cheaper alternative than buying complete brand new injectors, to getting more power. They'll have larger orifices to deliver more fuel, and possibly spraying at a slightly different angle/pattern. Nothing wrong with going that route. The main purpose to getting a complete injector compared to just doing nozzles is if your replacing a worn out, non working injector, or if you just dont want to mess with installing the nozzles on your injectors. I put a set of 100hp nozzles on a set of injectors when i had my 24v vp44 truck and they worked great.
I think those numbers are great! Shes pullin that load like its nothin! Gotta love a 12 valve!
Michael Cuff I thought they sounded about what it should be for what's been done to the truck!
That was so Bad A to see that Gen 1 in action ...loved it
I have a question, I'm looking at a first gen cummins rn. It's a 93 w250 12 valve crew cab. What should I look at besides rust when I go check it out? Looks similar to yours except red
Having the fuel plate all the way towards the cab is giving it the least amount of fuel. Its strange that they shaved the fuel plate and the had it slid towards the cab all the way. It could have actually been giving it too much fuel so I would not start out with your new plate all the way towards the front of the truck especially with the arm in the AFC being shaved too.
Hey bro that sweet 1st gen dodge you have
Those temps on the transmission are pretty normal for a newer cummins
I LOVE THIS OLE TRUCK
Subscribed! Great videos and excellent editing as well. You'll explode like Greg A if you keep it up
10:29 bros spittin straight facts
That controller just laying on he floor made me super nervous. They use angles and inertia to activate. On the floor it doesn’t really have either😆
Where did you get the air intake on the 1st gen?
how much would it take to buy the white first gen
What rims are those on the first gen? And would they fit on a stock square body chevy? (Ignoring clearance issues)
I'm a die hard Ford truck guy but that is a sexy first gen
Just an FYI, the weight sitting on the truck hitch should be approximately 10% to 20% of the trailer weight otherwise you'll get dangerous sway and horrible chucking from GN and 5th wheel hitches. Meaning, your truck should look like its heavy on the back.....
You are my favorite youtuber and I hope to one day meet you because I also live in Indiana
I want your 1st gen, beautiful 2nd gen by the way
As much as I like older gmc trucks the 1st gen is where its at.
awesome video!!!
Careful flushing Ford transmissions lol it has a tendency to mess them up. No idea why but it does lol
"hey look the local junkyard" lmao I hate ford too but Im weak lmaooo ;D
How do you like how the 7.3 tows compares to the 1st gen Cummins? Obviously their two very different trucks from different generations but it would be interesting from a power standpoint how they compare.
any six cylinder, like the cummins, has an advantage by design. 7 main bearings instead of 5. every rod gets a journal. heavier crank, and rotating mass. Semi trucks tried v8s, they were a fail. 7.3 and other v8 diesels are much better than earlier ones, but....why own one when you can have a 5.9 12 valve, just fix the dodge problems they are as good as any. ps i would like a duramax in a chevelle but not for towing much more than a camper
@@brent440 no def. No electronics. No emissions garbage. Just fuel, air, cylinders and oil.
Edit. I'm just running mine stock. It's slow getting up to speed when you've got 12-14k behind it but it works. Eventually I'll probably try to get around 350hp out of it with some modifications.
Does your 2nd Gen have a gooseneck hookup in it?
Oh lord, tappet cover leak i'm sure. Luckily it's not bad on a VE pump Cummins!
Those stats are damn goos for a first gen with that big of a load you got a fucking golden truck
That truck was moving and he didn't even have his foot on the peddle 😂 that's a cummins for you
glad to see the classy ladies gone off the back windows
What's the tires size on your 2nd gen ?
Miss these kinds of videos
atleast you aint getting some black bales like you would with the seccond gen haha!
Like that trailer it's made it my home town got a buddy that builds them and I build 3 point hook up thanks to a welder farmers can work no one thanks a welder lol
Not sure if I missed it..... but, what's the total weight on that trailer?
Yes fuel plate away from cab for more fuel but wouldn't recommend all the way without a EGT gauge and stock turbo.
Also not sure who the idiot is that cut the afc foot but there is a "star wheel" on the top of the afc that can be removed with an Alan key that you can turn to get more pre boost fuel no need to cut the afc foot, Some people take that out but then there is no tuning capabilities it just smokes like crazy until your charger lights and then you pray that it can clear up all the smoke. 🤦🏼♂️ some people want to have high HP trucks but try and get it for nothing.
Where are you guys located? Beautiful farm country
It’s not the Cummins you have to worry about,it’s the rest of the truck that is the concern, dodges weren’t known for being the best built trucks, who would have thought the old brick would be so highly sought after all these years later,
Change your rad cap every year on the 7.3
Should put some air bags on the first gen they help a lot I got a 40 ft fifth wheel camper not sure weight but my truck don't squat at all 👍
I never thought they worked all that great but my truck came with them and I love them seeing how you guys pull more heavy loads I would try em for sure
A guy I know he had a 2003 7.3 excursion and his transfer case fell out when he was driving
On a big truck,
the more boost, the lower you're pyrometer or exhaust gas temp. Never go over 875 on pyrometer !!! At the temp probe its 875 but on top of the pistons its closer to 1,750 degrees ( melting point of forged aluminum pistons) TRUST ME STAY BELOW 875 ON THE PYRO !!! YOU'LL MELT A SLUG,,,,BURN A HOLE IN THE PISTON !!!
How many miles on your beast ?
Throw the plate in the trash. The afc, which stands for, “aneroid fuel control” btw, is all you need to control the rack.
what's the name of the first song playing
Whats the name of the song around 5 minutes
I have always wanted to ask a Cummins owner...why the gigantic exhaust tip....on the tiny exhaust no less?
I put a 10ft slide in that weighs 4000 pounds in mine and I just have a d250 3/4 ton with airbags and mine did just fine and that was four thousand pounds in the bed LOL
ok i didn't know if you had a preference or not
you know i drove a cummins for work moving rock and it always felt like you had to keep your foot down to pull a load
but my personal truck was an F350 with a 6.9 idi and it just seemed to *hold* its power better even tho it didn't make as much it loved to cruise even with a 10 ton trailer of stone it would just float down the highway at 65
why is it you have to dog the 5.9 all the time to keep moving when it had only almost the same HP and 100 MORE tq than the 6.9s 160 hp 300 ish tq?
im not a cummins guy so i just assume it's the V8 configuration is more stable at higher speed?
i mean i have pulled some crazy feats with my 6.9 idi
BUT on paper the cummins should be better but thoughts? ideas?
VK7001.P interesting stuff. My first thought was the v8 difference. What about fuel economy? Seems the cummins would eat more the way you described it but...
Eggs are not bad spool the turbo a little more get a little lower egt
I forgot about that ford
New exhaust pipe and maybe engine
Great video brother
also I reccomend sanding those terminals down and spraying some battery terminal protector on em. Torque converter lock and unlock issues are a bitch on our trucks
Guys routinely tow 20,000 plus with these 1st gens. Engine basically doesn't care. I've had 17,000 on mine no problem.
Wats the song
Just dropped a vid of a 7.3 rolling some coal any tips u guys could give me ?! Love ur vids btw u make my day every day brother 🤙
BZK OUTDOORS post as often as you can (I post daily) and try making a video you would enjoy watching.. bc chances are if you like it there's someone else out there that will like it too.. but if you're not liking the videos you make and you wouldn't subscribe to it... chances are no one else would either is a good rule of thumb... make content you would enjoy watching day to day
Sounds like a BRO-MANCE! Sorry bro had to do it. 😭😭😭. I just subbed to his channel as well. I wish my son & I had a relationship like that. My son is 21 years old and is just like his mom (not a sissy or gay, but just full of himself and cocky, not humble at all, which makes me sick. I try to treat people the way I want to be treated. And I’ve tried to instill those values in him, but he just doesn’t get it. So it makes me sick to have to see him act that way. So KUDDO’s to you and your dad for having a great relationship and you being a well mannered young man.
Your dad looks like Conor McGregor lmao
Can you please make a vidio like this but with your truck
Vladi Bozhduga I don't have a gooseneck hitch and don't wanna spend $600 to get one just for a video lol... I have no need to haul my dads trailer 😂
I play the saxophone
Let see your truck tow
Eddie Gastellum don't have goose neck hitch... and I have no reason to get one lol
