I remember watching this fight live and it being a total snoozefest. I'm honestly surprised you were able to get 3 minutes worth of highlights out of it.
The fact that Khabib called out GSP to come down to lightweight for the first time in his career at the end of his career at the time where he was actually saying middleweight was somewhat more natural than welterweight, despite Khabib walking round at 190lbs and routinely absolutely killing himself to get to 155, rather than even offer welterweight to have a chance to, like Gsp, become a 2 division world champion, was a bit of a black mark on him for me.
shields was on gsp's level ground game wise or close enough so what gps did was to keep the fight standing all night long so he could have the edge fight smart.
The build up to this fight was that Jake Shields is a bad matchup for GSP, especially on the ground. But GSP instead decided to strike with him.. Well played

Small World, Jakes parents are hippies and they used to have live music at their place all the time. Really, really good folks! Calaveras High School Wrestling program is one of the best in The US.

Jake scraped GSPs eye with his finger nails. GSP had no vision in the eye for the last 2 rounds and did eat some shots as a result. It was not close at all until that happened.
48-47 is ridiculous. GSP mostly played it conservative in the 5th which is why Jake was able to land a higher volume of (non-powerful) strikes. In my mind, GSP easily won rounds 1-4. Jake had a better round in the 4th but was dropped with a head kick.
