Tom - very nice review - thanks - as mentioned elsewhere in these comments, would be nice to know what amp/energizer was used OR if if the phones responded any differently to use of a couple different amps. Thanks for a thoughtful review.
I use to own Stax headphones powered by a upgraded ST 70. I wasn’t that thrilled with the hot, sizzling sound. Right now I listen through an inexpensive ($700) pair of Quad ERA-1 headphones that sound far superior than anything at twice the price that I’ve auditioned. Perhaps it’s my PASS HPA-1 headphone amplifier that’s able to control these headphones in a way that I don’t need anything better. I don’t really need more costly headphones l as I only listen late at night in the dark lying down on a yoga mat with a pillow under my head. I usually make it through one CD but last night I fell asleep halfway through a Bruce Springsteen album😅
I had wow moment after listening to Stax 9000 with Blue Hawaii… That would be my setup if I ever go all In with headphones, Have ML15a speakers at home , Out brain loves electrostatic sound and it’s addictive
I'll never be able to afford these, but I hadn't previously considered the driver magnets to be an inherent source of distortion before, which seems obvious, now I think of it. Maybe I'll look more into other, more budget electrostats
I mainly used the HiFiMan. But the Blue Hawaii is my favorite, I just wanted to know how they did with a lower cost option because so many listeners seem worried about cost.
Sorry, Thomas, but I just had to give this video a thumbs down, for your bias towards 0.5% of the countries of the world that still use the Imperial measurement system.
@@JagadguruSvamiVegananda Well, it is done more as a convenience for the more than 50% of our viewers in the U.S. We could certainly have said 465 grams or 1 lb. And I’ll try to remember that in the future. How do you feel about prices in USD?
They sound wonderful… best of the best.. when I move to assisted living and sell my gear.. they will be on my list…
Hopefully,I’ll get to experience these headphones at Toronto Audiofest 😎
You'll be escorted out.

Did you know that bevor after and even in between your videos there are ads showing ? Adding ads in the content makes it too much for my liking.

@@shreddherring See our review of the HiFiMan Mini Shangri-La
What electrostatic amplifier(s) did you use to power the Corina's during the review process?

Thank you, Tom! Nice to know the lower cost amp didn't hold the Corina's back too much!
There is no option for Like, only for Don't Like :-)
👍
These must have a lifetime warranty, yes?
Actually the Koss electrostatics do come with a lifetime warranty!
@geezer2tech154 nice to know at least the cheap brands give you one.
So expensive!
Even 007mk2 2 times cheaper sounds better than this crap, i tested it on BHSE, and it was total disappointment

It's a shame that it's impossible to easily convert measurement systems. You have my sympathy for the immense burden that has been placed upon you.
oh no, different people are different than you?!!?!?! Intolerable
You can always unsub, right?
