      Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell:
      "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"
"Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing"
"You're All I Need to Get By".

Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush on Don't Give Up.
Nik Kershaw and Kim Wilde Let It be ( Ferry Aid ensemble 1987). They never released a record together but have done an acoustic version of The Riddle and Kids In America for Australian television that is excellent. Always surprised they never created a monster hit by collaborating as their voices blend so well.

I'm a Motown fan, so I'll go with Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell,
However, "Don't Give Up" by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush was absolutely stunning.

DAMN! You beat me to this submission!! LOL…. I was born in 1969, but my dad was about as BIG a music geek as Adam Reader! MY DAD gave me a “proper” music education and I LOVED most of the Motown catalog. Marvin Gaye was an AMAZING voice and that vocal blend with Tammi Terrell…. Simply perfection.

When you are very young, as I was when the 5th Dimension was making their hits and living on our radios, you develop a kind of worship for the entertainers (some call it fandom) and it is very heartfelt for someone at the age of 10 to experience.
Of course we all know of times where we ended up being disappointed in our heroes, bit not with Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., they have always been two people worthy of the admiration and love they not only received but have created over the years.
I'm so glad to see them here being happy and honored for a lifetime of love and music.

My parents had a 5th Dimension 8-Track and it would play in my Dad's pickup. Just love them. And watched Marilyn on Solid Gold. I would love them to tell the story behind You Don't Have to Be a Star; my late Mom loved that song and had the 45. Laura Nyro didn't get the credit she truly deserved; her songs brought so much joy to many of us. Marilyn and Billy are still together and still singing, one of rock and pop's greatest couples.

Christmas Eve, Dec 24,1973, (newly married in Sept 72) the wife & I saw Marilyn, Billy & the 5th D at the Riviera Casino in Las Vegas for a special dinner show. A special treat…All the 5th’s parents were there in the front row. WHAT a show they put on too. ALL their hits to that date. My wife’s name is Marilyn too. Courted my wife with their music. To this day…We ❤️ Billy, Marilyn & the 5th D. WHAT great memories.

@@ProfessorofRockMarilyn McCoo was a great host and singer on "Solid Gold". She had classic duets with so many greats and went outside her musical genre on several occasions during the series. Although Dionne Warwick co-hosted the series pilot with Glen Campbell and was the first season host in 1980 through 1981, approved "Solid Gold" Musical Director Michael Miller as its musical director and gave approval for his composition of its iconic theme song and hosted season 6 during 1985 and 1986 and was great in her own right, it was Marilyn McCoo who had the longest time as co-host or host on "Solid Gold", having done that for 5 out of its 8 years on the air. She worked well with The Solid Gold Dancers as well.

I met Billy and Marilyn when I was a kid in St. Louis. My family had gone to The Chase Park Plaza for Brunch after Church and they were seated near us. Billy actually knew my dad since my dad used to work for KATZ Radio as a news director, so my older brother and I got introduced to them. I remember shaking Billy's hand and Ms. McCoo kissing my cheek and telling me I was a good boy. Then she gave both of my parents a hug and kiss on the cheek as well and they left. My dad laughed later that they had paid our bill as they left. So he doubled the tip for our server. This was in I think 1975 or 76.

I’ve always loved Marilyn and Billy! My mom loved them back in the day. And now with Gilmore girls, my daughter knows at least one of their songs! Wedding Bell Blues. Such a great song and Marilyn has such a great, bright smooth voice!

I remember this song well from the T.V.Show Designing Women because it was Charlene (Jean Smart) and "Bill's"(Douglass Barr) unofficial/official song and was even performed at their bridal shower.

In 1967 "Up, Up & Away" became my all time favorite song and now 57 years later it is still my all time favorite song. It was such a thrill to actually meet The 5th Dimension when I was seventeen. The 5th in New York City's now defunct EJ Korvette department store. That day I became a celebrity because I had just purchased the new 5th Dimension album "Stoned Soul Picnic" but the store had nothing to play it on. After I introduced myself to the members of the group they were all so busy signing autographs and doing what they could to promote their new album that for some reason they didn't have. I did however get a chance to talk with the late Ron Townson, who really impressed me with his intellect. The 5th Dimension just got better as the years went by. They had top notch writers, Jimmy Webb, Laura Nyro, Burt Bacharach and Hal David. With 20 Top 40 hits, including two number ones the 5th Dimension must be ranked among the best of all time.

It's so wonderful to see them still together after all these years. Marilyn is still as beautiful as ever. I listened to the 5th Dimension on a small transistor radio back in the early 70's. Loved their music then, still love listening to their music now. Keep up the good work Professor of Rock.

Loved seeing them on tv back then. Love their version of " Go Where You Wanna Go". Also their followup to " You Don't Have to be a Star" called " Your Love".

Absolutely one of my very favorite groups...the members of The 5th Dimension are like family to me. Marilyn and Billie are such a loverly couple. I loved The 5th's vocal harmonies, particularly on the song 'Dimension Five.'

My father loved the 5th Dimension so I grew up in the 70's listening to them and we watched their TV show. In high school I was in a modern dance group and I danced to their Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In. We did it with black lights and I still remember most of that dance 49 years later!

Of course you can imagine my sisters singing that song when we all went camping and fishing together...Thank you Professor for the trip down memory lane

Marilyn was for me one of the best female vocalists of the pop era. You didn't even cover three of her finest moments with the 5th Dimension: One less Bell To Answer, Last Night I Didn't get To Sleep At All, and If I Could Reach You. Great clip!
