  • How Wine is Made in Bordeaux
    Step by step explanation
A fun documentary @ Chateau Haut Goujon in Saint Emilion
    chateauhautgoujon.com/en
Harvesting Grappes was my 1st job and to be able to go through the process of what it takes to make wine is something we have both wanted to do for a long time
We are so lucky that Valerie & Michael said yes and let us film this special process
What it takes to make a good wine is a lot of hard work & dedication and so much love ❤️ for what you do .
Valerie & Mickael do give their all to make amazing wines and some are even without sulphites
Their hard work paid off and they got awarded by #decanter
All of this whilst launching a new blend and special cuvée called #monbouquet
Needless to say the wine is amazing

Wine making fron soil to vine to grapes to harvest to processing the grapes , managing the fermentation, mixing, bottling, labels, then to finally enjoy the wine. What a many layered process that requires specific knowledge, laborers and equipment. Wow ! Thank you Ed and thank you Michael and Valerie ! 💖

It is even more complex than making sour dough brioche! Great to see real wine being made. All we ever saw in East Texas was Mucadine wine pronounced muskie dine, it is a very crude process compared to this. Great show, Ed. Looking forward to the rest of your passion project.

I harvested cold climate grapes, developed at U of Minnesota, one September a few years ago.
We clipped them & dropped them in crates.
Star Prairie is a table grape that's quite tasty, so is whatever version of a Gris they have at Crow River Winery .
They have several varieties of cold climate grapes.
One year they did a short run of dandelion wine, buying buds for $10 a pound, which was a gallon zip lock bag that one could fill every 20 minutes.
    = $30 an hour.

Ed, your knowledge of wine making is very impressive, this is actually a science, from proper prunning, to getting to the end product, and that mobile bottling station was very impressive, no wonder good wine is so expensive, I thank you for the tutoral of wine making, with all out access of a beautiful winery. The cost of those massive stainless steel tanks, and catwalk, must be outrageous, do they sell the old barrels when thier done with them, I imagine when dried, that would be some beautiful wood for smoking meat with, all the best to you and Anna from U.S.A. in Michigan, the Great Lake State, so now we know Anna`s 38 years old, CHEERS.

Your video is just as awesome, really going into the details and art of winery. Keep it going!

The documentary showcasing the creation of Bordeaux wine, specifically using the Liberty 2020 Cabernet as an exemplar, was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, it expertly captured the essence of winemaking, weaving a narrative that celebrated the meticulous artistry and science behind crafting the perfect bottle of wine. The cinematography was stunning, with lush vineyards and rolling hills serving as the picturesque backdrop, enhancing the viewer's immersion into the world of viticulture.
What truly set this documentary apart was its ability to delve into the intricate details of the winemaking process. Viewers were treated to a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the vineyards, witnessing the careful cultivation of grapes, the precise harvesting techniques, and the age-old methods of fermentation and aging. The passion and dedication of the winemakers were palpable, making it impossible not to be swept away by their enthusiasm for their craft.
The Liberty 2020 Cabernet, the star of the show, emerged as a testament to this passion and expertise. With each sip, the viewer was transported to the sun-soaked vineyards where the grapes ripened to perfection. The wine’s bouquet was a symphony of aromas, its taste a harmonious blend of rich flavors that danced on the palate. The velvety texture and lingering finish left a lasting impression, a testament to the exceptional quality of the Bordeaux produced.
In essence, this documentary was a sensory journey, an ode to the art of winemaking, and a celebration of the remarkable Liberty 2020 Cabernet. It not only educated but also inspired, leaving a profound appreciation for the meticulous process and the unparalleled quality of Bordeaux wines.

Thank you Ed and Anna for taking us on this voyage that wine making is! My family and I spent 20 years in California growing grapes (mostly for sale as grapes) and making what we called garage wine but it was excellent. We grew Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel (that one was in a different area than the other 3). We processed about 2 tons of grapes each year for our own use and for giving. Such awesome memories and watching your video brought all of them back! 🍷 🍷

Garage wine isnt bad even today I still make as a professional garage wine for friends and family with my small home project vineyard which was planted to find out if I liked an idea before committing to it on the professional scale.
