You love Allah and follow the prophet by knowing the Quran. Nowhere in the Quran ask us to love the prophet.
Asalamu alaikum, these are my personal thoughts on your comment.
We love the prophet out of gratitude to him for teaching us the way Allah willed for us. Is it possible to be grateful without love? Should we not be grateful? Did the prophet Peace and blessings be upon him not do anything for humanity that should make us grateful and thereby in a state of loving appreciation towards him?
I love the prophet Peace and blessings be upon him, and I can't imagine life without his guidance through the Sunnah and without the fruit of his own Islam (submission to Allah) that allowed him to receive and recite the Quran to humanity and elevate the condition of our hearts and minds towards consciousness of Allah.
