2 years later, I just found your tutorial. Lovely! You're an excellent teacher. Thank You very much. I'm making 3 of these for my mother. Mother's Day is right around the corner. Again, thank you.
I have seen alot of people do this stitch but your the only one that is the best thank you I love all your videos I have made a couple of your blankets.😊
As a new crocheted I am always looking for a relatively easy well explained stitch. You do a fantastic job of showing us how to perform the stitch and you explain it clearly and concisely. Thank you! New subscriber😊
Thank you for clear and close up instructions, Amanda. Such a lovely tutorial and I am finding the stitch satisfying to work. Thank you. I noticed another person comment they are gifting for Mother's Day. I am here for that reason too. I am grateful for you and I look forward to viewing more tutorials from you 💛
You’re very welcome! This is definitely one of my favorite stitches as it works up so nicely. They would make great gifts! Enjoy and happy crocheting! 🧶
I’m new and teaching myself to crochet. I’ve always had a super hard time knowing where the end, and the beginning stitches are. The simple sentences you said telling us to use a stitch marker for the beginning and end stitches, LITERALLY saved me sooo much headache and frustration! I actually have straight edges now, and will continue to with my future projects. So, 💗Thank you!💗
You’re very welcome! I try and break my tutorials down so even beginners can learn. I have to realize not everyone has been crocheting for years like I have. I’m glad you found my video helpful. I wish you the best of luck on your crochet adventures 😊🧶
very pretty and easy. wanted something pretty that could be used for dishes and spa cloths for my craft show. This stitch is perfect! Thank you for the clear instructions.
Thank you Amanda for this tutorial. Very well explain and demonstration. You make it very easy for all beginners. I love this pattern. Looking forward to see more tutorials from you.
I just started learning how to crochet a few months ago and only have a couple of stitches down so far. I was so excited to come across your video of the Suzette Washcloth because my name is Suzette. I never knew there was a stitch with my name. Of course I now have to learn how to make a Suzette washcloth and all the other Suzette items you mentioned.
I really enjoy your tutorials, they are well explained, at an easy to follow pace and easy to see. I started making gifts for Mother's Day and will include these washcloths !
Thanks so much for this wonderful vid showing how to do the stitches, and ending the rows. You're a great teacher. Thanks again so much I loved this stitch 💙 ❤️
I enjoyed your tutorial! I’m making washcloths for my new grandbaby arriving in December. I thought I’d make two of every pattern I could find, but this one is so beautiful and textured that I just may make them all in this pattern! I appreciate your time and your tutorial. Thank you!☺️
Really enjoying this pattern! It’s so pretty and relaxing to do. I think I found my new go-to! I made mine 28 chains and left off the border. I think it looks great without it too!
I made this and love the pattern. I’m a beginner and this pattern was easy and fun to do and the border makes it look fancy. I plan on giving as gifts with fancy soaps for Christmas. I wish I knew go to include a picture.

I absolutely love this stitch! I’m using this stitch for a blanket and it looks so beautiful! Thank you so much for your video. It was so easy for me to follow along with you as you went along. 🤓
Such a beautiful yet simple stitch! I think this will be my go to pattern for washcloths from now on. I agree with the other commenters that you are a fantastic teacher and show/explain everything really well. Thank you for sharing this pattern with us!
Thank you! 😊 That really means a lot to me! I've been making these like crazy lately in a bunch of different colors. Glad you're enjoying this pattern too!
Nice 👍🏻 thank you Amanda for another great 😊 and thorough tutorial! Amazing 🤩 I appreciate you so much for helping newbies like me make great projects 😘
Thank you I love the pattern it is absolutely beautiful I have also subscribed and hit that bell because I love how you explain things and making crochet a lot easier for beginners, thank you so much, I live in Western Australia 🇦🇺 🌹🌹🌹💖🤗
This is beautiful. This yarn seems stretchy. I have sugar and cream at home. Was hoping to make some baby wash cloths as a newborn gift. Will that yarn work? Thanks for this beautiful pattern!
I've been wondering about shrinkage with the cotton yarns. I'm wanting to make some more washcloths, but I know the peaches n cream from Walmart shrinks quite a bit & I need to add extra inches to the size to account for that. I'm wondering if there might be less shrinking from a different brand yarn? The P&C is definitely the cheapest & is not nearly as soft as the I Love this Cotton, but there is also a significant price difference- even during the 30% off sales at Hobby Lobby. I've watched several different washcloth tutorials & searched through the comments, but haven't seen this particular question asked or answered. I appreciate your clear instructions! Thank you! ~Liz
Hi Liz, thanks for watching! I think with all cotton yarns, you're going to get a little bit of a difference after washing. Some yarns will shrink a bit and others will stretch. I have found one video for you comparing I Love This Cotton and Walmart Mainstays Cotton yarns that might help you out. ua-cam.com/video/Qk6Iw2_D2cE/v-deo.html
Beautiful stitch! Can't wait to make some washcloths. Question... why do you end each row with only a single crochet, and not a double crochet too (every other stitch has both).
I just found you and I'm already obsessed! I'm making the grit stitch blanket, or so I thought. What is the difference between the grit stitch and Suzette? I think I'm actually doing the Suzette stitch.
The grit stitch and Suzette stitch are very similar stitches. The only difference I see between the two is how you start each row. The grit stitch starts with a double crochet in the first stitch whereas the suzette stitch does not.
Love this pattern from start to finish even with a border and tying it off only once. We try to avoid Hobby Lobby though it cost way too much. anywhere else would be half as much
I’m so glad you love this tutorial! There are lots of other cotton yarns available for cheaper prices. You’re welcome to use any cotton yarn you have on hand 😊🧶
@@AmandaCrochets 😁I'm having a hard time pulling the yarn through with the double either it's too loose or too tight, I know practice practice practice haha
For the first row, you are working in the chain stitches, so yes, it'll look like you're working in one loop. However, for the remaining rows, you will work in the top of the stitch, which is both loops. Hope that helps!
Thank you for responding. That's interesting, I was taught to have two loops ( the top) over the hook when I crochet into the chain. And to do the same for the subsequent rows unless I'm doing a back loop only stitch. Have you done this with the first row before? Have you found that it makes a difference in the outcome of the project?
@@laurenthompson2322 I feel like everyone works into the chain a different way. I’ve been working into the back bump a little more as I find this to be a smoother look to my projects. I have worked a few projects in the back loop only and it creates a wonderful ridge to the projects.

I have had alot of fun learning your stitches. Would yoh say that the Suzette and grit are very similar?
Yes they’re very similar stitches. A lot of crochet stitches are called different names or are very similar. Lots of good ones to try though 😊🧶
Hi I just started to do this pattern with Carons 60% cotton and 40% acrylic I hope that will be ok to use.
It should be OK to use as the cotton content is bigger than the amount of acrylic content.

They are similar stitches. Many crochet stitches are similar and varying names, so it can be a bit confusing.

Yes they are! You can put them in the washer/dryer and they come out really nice. :)
