RTD is a wierd hybrid between a metro system and commuter rail. many lines are located in car-oriented suburbs, where stations are surrounded by low-density housing and parking lots and have poor bus connections. you have to change land use if you want transit to become more successful. strip malls and single-family homes won't cut it.

Yea, I took a ride from downtown to airport in may and it was $10 when Uber wanted $90-$120 for the same ride. I think this is being blown out of proportion.

Replace the Saturday and Sunday/weekend schedules with a consistent weekly schedule. If you don't have high ridership on Saturdays and Sundays, then have smaller buses with consistent scheduling.

Another thing that people forget about is how the appearance of the transit system affects people wanting to ride the system. Compare Seattle's light rail cars to RTD's heavy rail or light rail cars, and tell me which one you would rather ride on.

The monthly $99 monthly pass for Boston only supports MBTA lines and Commuter Rail lines in zone 1A (basically just servicing Boston itself). That's akin to the $114 pass provided by RTD. Monthly commuter rail passes for further out zones can range from $90 to over $400 per month. All things considered, the pricing is on par.
As a member of the public we want holiday schedules and weekend schedules for places that don't have them and less transfers so we can get places faster
RTD just violated my 14th amendment and put me in danger with law enforcement that was not needed. and violated my first by threatening me with unlawful trespassing arrest for waiting for a bus to the airport. This was in Boulder I was trying to work on a story at the airport early in the morning because I was forced off the property I missed the bus I was waiting for and I miss my opportunity to capture the footage I needed for my story.
RTD as a whole is a disaster. Denver residents would be better off taking a looney tunes rocket to their destination. At least then you'll make it there on time

The problem is RTD is greedy, plain and simple. I work for a small business of around 10 people. Half of those people live out of state. And since our office is located downtown, for a time, the company I worked for got passes for the employees. The problem was that RTD required the company I work for to buy passes for even the employees who lived out of state and would never use them. Then the pandemic hit, and money got tight and those passes got canceled. Now that things are coming back, it looks like me, as an individual, will be responsible for purchasing my own lightrail pass because my company doesn't want to dish out all that extra money for employees who won't use those passes. And I don't blame them. I'm happy RTD is squirming right about now. This is the bed they made for themselves. Before the pandemic the company I worked for got passes for everybody -- 10 people. Now I am the only one using the train to go to and from work. RTD is pricing THEMSELVES out of business!
RTD gives low income discounts while charging higher fares to people that work and aren't low income. The problem is, people that aren't low income can often work from home or can chose to drive a car. The people that pay the highest fares are the first to stop riding and the first to stop paying the higher fares since they have the most choice. Seems crazy to me, like that will create a new revenue problem if the highest fares stop riding and work from home or drive. RTD should do more to keep the regular fares, not screw them with even higher fares and inflexible employer programs. Watch these higher fare people find alternatives.
Main issue is many people who worked downtown are now teleworking. Businesses are also vacating the office buildings, and going to smaller spaces in different areas. Some are finding they do not need physical, customer-facing employees. What RTD needs to do is develop a rideshare app similar to Uber in order to compete. I would also say tear up many of the light rail lines and use that area exclusively for RTD vehicles so they can transport people quicker.
