I appreciate how you drew parallels between Linux's early days and modern blockchain development, though I think the comparison is a bit oversimplified.
Tks again, You mentioned v-node owners in your video. Are there new developements on that front regarding v-nodes or are v-node still cancelled? Cheers.
Advantage is relative here. GPL has advantages for the originator - they can be sure each and every derivative work will have the same level of openness as they originally released it under. Apache 2.0 has advantages for those who create derivative works - they can make that derivative work "theirs" and do not have to make their free or open source. So if you're trying to build a business around a new and want to use a GPL product to build upon, you can't. If find a permissive-licensed open product to build upon instead, you can. I like public blockchains to have permissive open source licenses because it shows the originators are dedicated to build a truly open ecosystem as fast as possible, even if potential creators of derivative works can make money. Does that answer your question?
That was an unintended oversight of theirs. Not really a red flag - only a red flag for startups that want to create something on top of Solana's code and want to make that a paid product. That was the original idea for Bitoku/Xandeum, so it would have been a red flag for them back in the day. That's why I submitted that PR (Pull Request) back in the day and was relieved they quickly accepted and merged it. Before that, there was just a legal risk that Solana could potentially sue startups that build on the Solana code and charge money for derivative products. However, with the merging of my PR, that risk is now elominated.
Great work ❤
Technicalities explained so well, thanks Bernie!
The more I learn about Xandeum, the better it gets :)
Awesome update on Xandeum architecture
I really appreciate de team work.
Great work Bernie
Keep up the great work, Bernie!
Well-done Bernie
Best CEO in the world, always updating the community
Thanks for taking the time to make these helpful videos
Great work team
Informative and interesting as always. Thanks for sharing.
Really interesting Bernie ....
Thanks for the update Bernie
We are grateful to what you have created.
Love seeing the actual development process
Learning so much with xandeum
Thanks for the info Bernie
Thanks xandeum crew
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to find more attractive rewards.
I follow this project every day
We are grateful for things from you.
Keep up the great work
Love the squirrel.. Thanks Bernie.
Good explanation of open source
Great update for and non techi info geek
Xandeum will make Solana more scalable
I love Xandeum
Great open source info!
thx for explaining permissive vs copyleft! never really got the difference until now
Excited to see how it enhances blockchain storage.
I hope you are always healthy to accompany us.
Thank you for creating a useful playground
Thank you Bernie. It’s important to see the source code, at least part of it
Thanks for the update
Thanks for sharing good things
Great work
I love projects like this, there will be many surprises coming.
Thanks for sharing.
Great information
Great content
thanks bernie
Been following blockchain for years but never considered the importance of license types. Eye-opening stuff.
Great job
Good update
Good explanation
I love this project.
Thanks for update
Xandeum open source will come...good news for the Devs!
great stuff
The discussion about Jito Labs' hybrid model raises interesting questions about the balance between open source ideals and business sustainability.
New learnings for me on how DAO works
Let's keep it thriving
The project will be successful
Thanks 🚀
Good one
I like everything about solana block chain
Great breakdown of the licensing types! Quick question - does xandeum plan to use Apache 2.0 as well?
Informative
Let's everyone know this project strongly.
Very good project
I appreciate how you drew parallels between Linux's early days and modern blockchain development, though I think the comparison is a bit oversimplified.
Seems you guys want some deep dive into open source licenses. Maybe a long form video...
Tks again, You mentioned v-node owners in your video. Are there new developements on that front regarding v-nodes or are v-node still cancelled? Cheers.
Good Stuff
Interesting point about developer attraction to truly open projects. Makes me wonder about Bitcoin's early development.
Anything related to solana is good.
HI BARNIE
Wonderful
As someone new to blockchain, I'm curious why closed source would be such a deal breaker compared to traditional software?
Good project
so great
More great vids
Love xandeum
What are your thoughts on hybrid licensing models for L2 solutions?
Thanks
why did you choose to build xandeum as dao-driven instead of going the traditional company route?
Go 🚀🚀🚀
Hope the new year is strong for crytpo!
Awesome
Nothing can prevent us from moving forward
How do you ensure quality control in fully open source blockchain projects? Seems risky.
Better days ahead
The beautiful days are coming
What's the real advantage of Apache 2.0 over GPL for blockchain projects? I'm still confused about the practical differences.

Nice hearing
Nice
Let's develop together
Words, words, words, some strange terms and concepts...and a SQUIRREL!!! 🐿😁
The whole copy-left concept seems counterintuitive to business growth. How do companies actually make money with this model?
Thanks Bernie, great video
Great
nice
🔥
Is it concerning that Solana's licensing wasn't properly implemented initially? Seems like a red flag.
That was an unintended oversight of theirs. Not really a red flag - only a red flag for startups that want to create something on top of Solana's code and want to make that a paid product. That was the original idea for Bitoku/Xandeum, so it would have been a red flag for them back in the day. However, with the merging of my PR, that risk is now elominated.
Anatoli's tweet seems a bit revisionist given Solana's actual development history, no?
The future is open.
Wait so like anyone can just copy Solana's code and make their own blockchain??
good
pump for xandeum mr bernie
