LORE POST: Where there is light, you will find darkness. "The brighter the dragon of light burns, the deeper the shadow harboured within." Despite Yggdrasil's newfound trust in the DATS Squad after the events of Savers, this ominous prophecy - a relic of the ancient Digital World - remained a cause for vigilance. Unbeknownst to the humans, the host computer had sent LordKnightmon to keep a persistent eye on Masaru, the human whose soul had birthed the server's first Light Dragon. It was on the 2nd of September, 2022, that LordKnightmon detected an unusual pulse in Masaru's DigiSoul. Still, such fluctuations were not uncommon. The Knight reported the observation to his Master, but thought nothing further of it. It was on the 6th of December, 2022, that everything changed. After Masaru's loss to Beelzemon in the Heroes Across Time tournament, the pulse returned, throbbing with an ominous intensity that made even the hardened Knight shiver. Only Yggdrasil recognised it based on archival data - an ancient evil, once thought sealed, was once again scheming to re-emerge in the present day, feeding off and hiding within the pure-hearted radiance of Masaru and Agumon. Thus, the host computer reached out to Commander Satsuma of DATS and proposed a casual tournament of strength to 'deepen the bonds between the humans and Digimon'. Of course, that was merely a facade for the tournament's true purpose - to purify the ancient evil from Masaru's DigiSoul. Although I try not to interfere directly with the server's affairs, I managed to convince Yggdrasil to relinquish a slot to me and my Etemon (plural) - the whole affair simply sounded like too much fun to pass on. In the end, the seed of ruin had grown too much for Yggdrasil to purge, but fortunately the return of the Knights' missing leader put an end to its rampage. It seems he even found himself a new disciple among the human participants - a young girl, I believe? Looks like the server will have time to heal after the whole fiasco with Analogman. But I believe the will of that ancient evil will not be so easily thwarted. It may have failed to manifest through Masaru and Agumon, but that simply means it will continue searching for another host. Someday, it will threaten this world again. --The Observer
A very close call, honestly. In the end, my little brother will be happy his favourite won. I like to imagine that Alphamon shows respect for Chika and Maseru and offers to train with them.
Nah, Shine should have won. @4:45 you see Shine has 2 memory and had 2 rookies that turn in hand. He could've just evo'd into a rookie in the back and then dropped the other rookie leaving Alphamon at 1. Even with 2 Cool Boys and a Yuji, Alphamon wouldn't been able to do much especially since his LV5 was only Dexdorugrey. The most he could've done was just evo up into a LV6 Alphamon.
Nope, with Yuuji and the 2 Cool Boys he would be up to 5 after evolving into DexDoruga, even from 1. So he could go full Ouryuken either way. I evo'd into Geo in Breeding cos I was expecting that and wanted to set up for next turn
As Ralph would say: I'm happy and angry!!!!! I was really expecting that Masaru would be the winner here, but I can't deny that the match, no, the entire tournament, has been the best ever seen on this channel: the decklists, the music, the performance, everything was perfect. Please, Rustmarrow, don't ever change, and thanks a lot for your hard work, bringing us the cards of the day and these spectacular videos. You're the best 😊 And I hope you're doing fine with your PhD
Gotta say, not the final turn music I was expecting, but boy did it put a stupid smile on my face! This has been one of my favourite tourneys you've done, so seeing it stick the landing has been cool.

Soooooooooo...that was surprising! And I'm quite happy for the result. Not just because Alpha won...but also because it was a good match. Nice job, Rust!
DP reduction has to be the most OP effect in the game. Being able to still affect Digimon while they can’t be dp reduced is crazy. Glad alphamon won but I wonder if jesmon would have done this well too🤔
The match was decided when Digivolving to BT13 Rize and there was no tamer to play, that was the 1 extra memory Masaru needed to keep tuen when going to Ruin Mode
Alphamon’s deck is SO COOL! I recently got back into digimon thanks to cyber sleuth, and LOVE the design of the Dorumon line. And with the role Alphamon plays later in that game: watching this deck combo off is like a massive nostalgia trip of my cyber sleuth playthrough. Looks like I’ve got another deck on the wishlist! Also: while I’m commenting here anyways, I want to thank you for all the effort you put into these vids! The decks, the editing, the music choice/use, and the commentary(!) never fail to excite me. This might be the most anime final match of a tournament yet. I normally get bored of the decks that make it this far but this was really exciting. Still, as good a Savers set as BT13 was, I still really hope we'll eventually get a proper Royal Knight set. This tournament was fun, but it's sad how many Knights couldn't make it into a tournament named after them because they didn't get more than a card in a set named for them. (Heck, some of the Knights who did make the tournament didn't get more than a card.) And despite the ultimate winner here, that'll probably always be my takeaway from this set until we do get a Royal Knight set.
Who knew BT13 Dorumon would prove to be so instrumental to victory since it's overlooked in the Alphamon deck. I'm happy masaru couldn't run over alpha i was scared when dexdoru skipped dorugrey straight to dexdorugrey.

@luis gonzalez Nope, with just an Agumon from Breeding and no access to Masaru free evos, what would Shine even play next turn? Meanwhile, Alpha would still be able to go off from 1 Memory thanks to Cool Boy
That was a great match!! Man, I was rooting for shine there, but it was a good game. Sorry to bother ya, but whats the song that plays at the final turn?
The results could be the same if alpha begin his turn with only 1 memory? Since if i follow the actions alpha could were on 1 memory before activate kongou. So what actions could have taken alpha on that moment?
If he begins with 1, its a low threat situation with only an Agu in Masaru's Breeding. So he does the exact same things, but absorbs Doru instead of Ouryu from Trash, swings twice, and returns Ouryu to deckbottom as well, so everything ends up the same: (1) Yuji to 2 (2) DexDoruga to 3, to 5 with Cool Boys (3) DexDoruGrey to 2 (4) Alpha to -1, gain back to 1 by absorbing Doru from Trash (+ Doru in inherit) /swing twice here/ (5) Ouryuken to -2, gain back to 5 by returning 7 evo cards (including Ouryu this time)
Not to be that guy but that 1 copy really helped alpha for early game push damage. It didnt really matter since alpha cleared masaru's board but still it would have felt better if he didnt uss it. Ignore me tho im just salty masaru lost😂
wait, thats power of alphamon is 16k dp +1k from dorumon bt 13 = 17k dp? efffect ruin mode still active than has no jamming in aphamon must be deleted because power has been minus 5k dp from ruin mode dp become 12 k cmiiw..
@@rustmarrow i see, thats only 2 dorugas with 1k dp + alphamon dp become 18k and become 13k, thank you thats alphamon can de-evolve ruin mode make game change its great fight
Can't believe Masaru lost after all that. I guess this just shows how good Alphamon can be (even if ShineGrey is an insane deck). Either way, the entire tournament was really cool and I loved every moment of it.
Hrmmmm, don't know why Marcus used burst mode on BT12 marcus rather than BT13, when there was no digivolve target. If he had, Kongou would have passed the turn before DoruGrey could be digivolved, meaning that BT4 Shine + Ruin could have cleared board rather than DoruGrey being immune to DP reduction
I might have actually done goofed there cos I was so focused on getting value out of returning a suspended Tamer. But fortunately it doesnt rlly change things cos Ouryuken could have just deckbottomed Ouryu as well to make up for that 1 Memory
I feel like luck wasnt on masaru´s side in the whole tournament, always failing to do this or that cause he didnt have it, versus almost every opponent he had having everything, and still managed to get this far, shows how good the deck is. Also, the bad matchup of not being able to reduce dp. Everything was against his favor
Thats not the most fair comparison tho. Alpha didnt exactly have the best luck either. Having a DoruGrey for the first Ouryuken stack would have settled the game right then and there, or having a DexDoruga on turn 2. And you have to factor in all the moments Masaru had the right cards in hand (what if no BT12 Shine or Burst during his offense turn?). Or in the Ygg match, what if no BT2 Shine or Ruin? Or in the Ulforce match, what if no Sunrise Buster in Sec? I would say Masaru had plenty of luck to make it this far compared to his opps too. Missing a Rize trigger isnt terrible, and can even be seen as a positive consequence of the deck having too many ways to play Tamers
btw for anyone wondering how much the difference was i think it was exactly 1k because 18k - 5k static from ruin = 13K to 12 k yep alphamon won by a freaking 1k what the heck
So anyone else noticed Alphamon should've lost? Shinegreymon player made a questionable move when they were at 2 memory and evo'd in the back into a rookie did two more moves then passed giving Alphamon 3 memory, when clearly Shined should've just dropped a rookie when at 2 memory. Even with 2 Cool Boys and a Yuji, Alphamon wasn't going to do much with 1 memory especially with the only LV5 he had in hand. Though that's not to say Alphamon doesn't have the tools to handle Shinegreymon but giving Alphamon 3 memory changed the tide in favor for Alphamon.
Not really? Alpha could still make an Ouryuken play from 1 Memory. With Yuuji and the 2 Cool Boys he would be up to 5 after evolving into DexDoruga, even from 1. On the other hand, Masaru would only be left with an Agu in Breeding.
@@rustmarrow actually yes, that would've played out as you said but you wouldn't have had enough memory to play Kongou and evo into Dorugrey offering you DP reduction protection
@Kelvin Hernandez But the situation is less threatening now with only an Agu in Masaru's Raising. Still, Alpha couldve actually made the exact same play. Since someone else asked, I realised he could absorb Doru from Trash instead of DoruGrey, swing twice, then return Ouryu to deckbottom [End of Turn] to gain 2 additional Memory - so its like they started with 3. Since Masaru only has an Agu, its not a major risk for Ouryuken to be suspended anymore. So in a nutshell, Masaru couldnt choke Alpha either way, which is why evo'd to Geo to set up for the next turn
Crap, I was late. Anyways, it's shocking to see that Alpha found a way to get around ShinGrey Ruin. Heck, even Burst Mode didn't stand a chance against the Royal Knight. Glad to see Alphamon being able to reclaim the throne.

thank you
thats alphamon can de-evolve ruin mode make game change
its great fight
@@shinjo7228 There were 3. DoruGreys inherit put No. 2, and Yuji put No. 3
let's goooo
can someone tell me what ost is at the start of the game?
Digimon World Next Order Final Boss OST
T_T ShineGrey was sooooo close, nooo
Thank god ShineGreymon lost 🎉
Can't believe Masaru lost after all that. I guess this just shows how good Alphamon can be (even if ShineGrey is an insane deck). Either way, the entire tournament was really cool and I loved every moment of it.
Put some respect on the Black Knight
What's the name of the song at the end?
Queria saber também em xD
Hope Ster from Digimon Cyber Sleuth.
@@darkslayer3418thank you
Good fight
It’s all fun and games until Hope Ster starts playing.
@@rustmarrow Ah fair. Well, a well timed Kongou is the bane of all plans, so alas.
@@rathwolf1 honestly Kongou is so strong I have a hard time not including it in my black decks.
I relate so hard
LETS GO ALPHAMON
Yeeeeeessssssss!!!!! Alphamon bro let’s go
We won 😍
Name of the song at 10:23 ?
That's Hope Ster from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth
Great battle honestly hate kongu but it was so close I say alphamon is a good counter to shinegreymon😊
Resistance to DP minus + Kongo just gives them a free turn, its pretty disgusting
Let’s go! Alphamon FTW!
It's incredible how my favorite decks manage to loose all of their matches in your tournaments lol
Alphamon just seems too strong again
Hurray! The great evil is defeated! Now if only Bandai would defeat it by banning Marcus and the Shines.
hahaha2 i know that pain, the global west player dont see the pain vs 3turn masaru yet hahaha2
Cry?
Lol no
I feel like luck wasnt on masaru´s side in the whole tournament, always failing to do this or that cause he didnt have it, versus almost every opponent he had having everything, and still managed to get this far, shows how good the deck is.
Don’t rig it marrow 😔
? But I didnt
Nobody can beat X Antibody baby!
Cool boy is a very balanced card
Can anybody really stop alphamon?
btw for anyone wondering how much the difference was i think it was exactly 1k because 18k - 5k static from ruin = 13K to 12 k yep alphamon won by a freaking 1k what the heck
2k! Ouryuken had 3 Dorugamon inheritables
@@rustmarrow wow lucky alphamon
WE DID IT😍😍😍😍😍
So anyone else noticed Alphamon should've lost?
Has Alphamon lost in any of these showcases? JFC I’m tired of seeing this win🤢
Its a tournament, there will be 1 deck that never loses
@@rustmarrow I’m get that, but alpha has never lost any showcase. BT9 was a mistake.
alphamon cancer is real
Crap, I was late. Anyways, it's shocking to see that Alpha found a way to get around ShinGrey Ruin. Heck, even Burst Mode didn't stand a chance against the Royal Knight. Glad to see Alphamon being able to reclaim the throne.
