    Great hunting trip, thanks for sharing. Now, a the critic: At 16:38, as the shot is fired, the ramrod is seen projecting forward, and that could throw off your shot.You ended up shooting freehand from an awkward sitting position, why.
    An important fundamental of hunting is being ready to shoot. First, find your shooting lanes, then set up shooting rest to shoot from. Next is the rifle setup. It doesn't seem that the distance from the ocular lens to your eyeball allows for a stable cheek weld, and that's being judged from the apparent relief. To achieve that, you would need to move the scope back and possibly install cheek rise. Change out the banner scope to a scope and mounts that were designed for your .50 Cal Black Powder rifle. Alos follow the loading procedures that the manufacturer recommends, and for accuracy load exactly the same every time, that might not be the easy way. Save yourself some money and heartache, and work out the issue because getting new equipment won't solve anything.
    Now, for the doe, wait 20 minutes or so before tracking, and if the trail goes cold, start doing small circles, then larger circles, then get and legal use a dog. Lastly, I'd suggest you avoid posting wounded animals that couldn't be found, 😉

    Spray some foam bore cleaner in the barrel specifically made for black powered and let it sit per instructions. Clean out real good and then condition the barrel with Bore Butter. You should never have to lean on that starter and rod that much to feed the round. That looked like a full time job. Just some suggestions to make it easier.

      @huntingNfishingwithcnboutdoors  Рік тому +1

      Yes sir it’s usually not that hard. It needed to be clean. I usually clean after the second shot. But I guess I will start after every shot.

      @@huntingNfishingwithcnboutdoors That Bore Butter will help with that long term. I shoot the 270gr Powerbelts and can shoot 6 rounds on the range before swabbing. I have the .50 CVA Optima Pro. Loading 150gr of Pyrodex Pellets. Fun to hunt with.

    When I hunt with my 50 Cal Traditions black powder I’ve found that anything over 100 yards won’t knock them down right away and I end up chasing them a bit but between 50-75 yards I put ‘em on their rumps every time and I use the exact same loads you do. Anything above 75 yards and they will run a little but not far, but it’s deadly accurate. I think it’s all in the yardage.

    Try powerbelt bullets I use 300 gr bullets with 150 gr powder with the bullets ment for magnum load(150gr) if your using 250gr bullets 100 gr powder is enough, 150gr powder can push the bullets to hard if you slow it down some it will shoot flater and more accurate, definitely recommend powerbelt bullets, keep at it boss man there is an art to black powder

Other than that, I really really enjoy your videos man. "All Readeee!"
