Great stream folks, I was more confident this time round! I think our talk about Tom Holkenborg was particularly interesting and I am glad i fetched it up.
On the AI Coke thing, I was struck by the line in the lyrics that goes something like ‘always the real thing’. I thought that was slightly more ironic than in previous year’s offerings.
kind of important to remember that machine learning has been around since the 80s. recent jumps in the technology has something to do with the development of new additions to the pipelines (stuff like transformers), and being able to implement them efficiently with GPUs. (Not an expert but its something along those lines). tech jumps and plateaus. AI isn't likely to continue rocketing upward indefinitely. best to learn how it works and how to use it when appropriate. (and also make sure to advocate for IP rights to protect work from getting dumped into training sets, at least where you can)
It can be a useful tool and I have a few uses for it in my projects, or could, but It would just be for visual stuff and noted as such. All publicly available works especially music need disclaimers they are generated in part or full by programmed mimicry of human work called Ai it might not fool the real thing now but might get close as tech evolves
Hi all was it just me first time using google meets but I was getting a 20 second delay from watching the UA-cam session and the google meets audio. Have I got a setting wrong?

Great chat but why is it an audio/music based chat has such bad audio from the attendees?!?
