End of an era, I never personally have been a fan of the cafe racer style but I did like the classy look of the Phoenix, I'm sure this will give you guys more bandwidth to focus on your bread and butter bikes. Definitely looking forward to seeing how the Halcyon 450 pillion prototype turns out, I figured the unique cantilever rear suspension would complicate matters but I'm confident you'll find an elegant solution.
I've been following this bike for a while now. Love the concept and engine. My gripe is I need ABS.. For me it stands for Absolute Butt Saver.. If you have ever high sided in a panic stop you know what I mean. A 450 with ABS and I'm in.. I would get more of a tear drop fuel tank also. Not a fan of the coffin tank look. Other than that it's a wonderful bike and looks like a great company to deal with!! Bravo!!
What's the reason for retiring the Phoenix? It's a breathtakingly beautiful bike. I don't think you should retire them. What makes Janus different from the big boys is the handcrafted artistry and the valorization of small cc motorcycles. I hope you never change. Well, look on the bright side. The Phoenix it will someday rise again from the ashes.
Hopefully is will rise from the ashes as a 450. Only 70ish of them out there, that’s less than 1/10th of the halcyon 250 sales. Love the company, enjoying my Halcyon and thinking about getting a 450, would not mid if they made a faster Phoenix since cafe racers are known for a bit of speed.
@@chopstx4u207 With only 70ish Phoenix's out there, they will certainly be instant collectibles. I agree. It would be cool to see a 450cc Phoenix and also a 450cc Gryffin.
Agree! Janus built itself on the concept of a return to the early days of motorcycling, with light, small displacement bikes at the heart and soul of that. Unfortunately (to me) they seem to moving away from it, and rather quickly.
@@authenticvegas their not moving away from their concept, they are expanding on it, learning as they go along, and trying to give people what they want ( which helps the business survive) having a choice between a 250 and a 450 is great, and its needed. Look at all the 350's and 500's royal Enfield is selling 😎
Great looking bike but that engine no no. Had a bike with same engine very underpowered its reliable enough but a little more horse power would be nice
I saw a Janus in the wild the other day in downtown San Jose California. Horrible place to ride a bicycle because of the noise, the unsafe drivers, the garbage and feces, the horrible smells... it's really a disgusting place, but that's what I was doing. The guy on the Janus was kinda weird lookin but cool bike anyways.
5:52 what an incredibly close call... thank goodness you're alright.
I now own that very bike, Phoenix 250 #072! It is now my favorite bike to ride locally on our country roads.
Enjoy that rare bird!

Sorry to hear the end of production run of the Phoenix 250. But not sorry because I have one. Now a rare bird for sure.
Where are your riding gloves??😬 beautiful bike!
I kicked myself for not bringing them with me!
Are you guys keeping the demo bike your riding #72 or are guys gonna sell that one as well?
Quick question, what is top speeds on this Gryffin 250?

I think . AFTERMARKET motorcycle ABS kits exist now .
A noble ride😎👍❤🖖
Nice, Mitch!
Can you put the 450 in the Phoenix?
What was that green one with the raised fenders
I was thinking of buying one but to be honest the reviews are not good stating they are ruff riding bikes..higher than 883? Humm warranty is great.
Those roads tell me Goshen has hard winters... reminds me of New Hampshire roads..
So no to go beer…then you get all the demo bikes and everybody rides up to get some at the bar! Just be careful of course.
So how fast did you go on this trip 55 mph

Hopefully with a 450. Most cafe riders prefer a little more "ZIP"😎

With the invent of the Monkey,I am surprised you dont keep the 250 seems most buyers like the smaller, easy handling bikes
As long as you keep making the halcyon 250 until I can afford one I'll be satisfied
Absolutely - the Halcyon 250 isn't going anywhere!
Will this have any effect on 450 wait times?
If anything, it will make them shorter. Simplifying our product line will help to smooth production out.
@@janusmotorcycles I was hoping you would say that.

The coolest bike they had.
Makes no sense.
I guess from a business perspective it does…
