@@a_sk8_tier604 😂 I finally got the courage to attempt to stop around that time so no worries. It’s also more helpful when you actually set time aside to practice because I miss some time in between and when I ride again I look like a baby giraffe on wheels til I get used to it again haha
I was able to get the one foot spin in just two days with this tutorial, thank you so much!!! I literally thought it was going to be impossible for me to ever achieve it and now is my favorite move
Omggg Deb! I was visiting CA last week from MA and went to FSVC last Wednesday hoping to meet you, turned out it was one of the few days you weren't there 😭But I still had an absolute blast and stayed for the whole adult morning session! First time ever at a rink and I loved it! I'll be back any time I'm in the area!
I’ve watched nearly all your videos dirty and have leant so much. I practiced one foot spins after watching this and nailed it within 10 minutes. You are the best! Thank you 🤗
I always wanted skates as a kid and got them when I turned 9. Skating has always been my hobby. Watching this video will really help me out when I get my new skates after years of not skating.
As a dancer the arms thing increases your speed of spin in a pirhouette as you bring them in and slows down your spin as you extend them out due to centrifugal momentum being reduced or increased.
Dirty, dirty, dirty...I always watch your videos front to back . That's the same way the body cast will be fastened. I'll not be trying this move yet but God love you for thinking it could happen♡
Just watching this made me dizzy lol I get dizzy easily, are there any trick not to??? I can't practice now cuz we are on typhoon season here in Japan now, so I've been watching a lot of your videos! Your energy always brings my motivation up!! Thank you!!
Using other wheels better , or does it really matter? What wheels do you recommend spinning on one foot. Also is it harder to spin on one skate with wheels that are wider?
I'm super late, but it depends on the material you're skating on. her wheels look pretty soft and rubbery, but they're probably not as grippy as outdoor skates. they're definitely softer than those plastic wheels that are on rental skates, since the rubber helps you grip to the floor. it's hard to describe the wheel without touching it.
I'm a ice skater and returning from a hip replacement. I find its hard to regain my natural balance again. Hit and miss so I tried to think outside the box. I think I can do it.
Thanks for the video! For us outdoor skaters that skate on concrete pads like basketball courts, do you have a rec on what wheels are good to practice this move? Like general diameter, width, hardness? I have a decent variety of wheels already, but not sure if I could make this easier for myself by starting to practice with a certain type of wheel. 😅
I dont recommend spins on outdoor surfaces. Unless it's a surface made for skaters that's free of debris. I also skate outdoors but those surfaces usually include divots, rocks, bottle caps, gum, etc and could be the worst for spin moves. I do know roller bones makes best wheels for outdoor skates
Depends on your wheels. Softer wheels will be easier outdoors. Harder wheels are easier on rink surface floor. My wheels are 85 thus, feels much better outdoor on the road and easier than indoor at the rink
I'm getting impatient, waiting until the end of the video to make this comment, in case you do cover this. So, let me just put this here first and see what you do, before I finish and post this comment... Okay, you didn't do what I notice that we do in ice skating. The scratch position. I don't know, this may be considered too advanced at this point. But, in ice skating we drop the foot that we picked up and place it on the other side of the spinning foot, to pick up speed. This is when you are at the tightest momentum of your spin... and then we turn out of the spin, backwards using that foot, hence why it's placed on the other side of the skate... I was hoping that you could show us that on wheels next. Or, are we not able to drop that foot in roller skating, or is there a roller skating variation of it!?!?

Would this be easier with hard wheels instead of outside wheels?
Finally!!
I’m gonna try this method. Thanks Debora! Sorry if I misspelled your name 😬
I just landed it! 🎉
I’m getting roller skates tomorrow it’s night and I can’t wait for tomorrow! (Saturday)
