You know... it's really hard to play a song like this all live and natural, in that cramped little space, with all the solos, ethereal backing vocals, gentle fade-downs and other subtle tricks that make this song really pop. The guy on the pedal steel is *killer*. Besides being great herself, that is a first-class band she has there.
Great live performance. If ya ever check out Wilco - Muzzle of Bees live vidy, it's in a cramped house setup...and one of the best leads ever to close the #.
Camera operator couldn't figure out that the steel guitar player was playing that final lead. It was a good one, too. Very fine song, all the way around. So happy you're back, Kathleen!
This is one of the best live performances I've ever seen posted to UA-cam. Not only is Kathleen spot on in every way with this magnetic, emotional performance, but the band is as focused as a laser. The way the guitar parts trade at the ending solo is beautiful. I wish the end jam lasted 15 minutes. Thanks to all involved. Amazing song, amazing performance.
Enjoyed Kathleen Edwards music for awhile now. Always thought I heard a Lucinda Williams influence and this song is no different. Fantastic live performance.
What a great song, well written, and executed by everyone in this video. That is a testament to real team work making a powerful piece of art. It's songs like these that inspire my want to continue to write and perform.
They knocked it out of the park with this killer good tune- unfortunately, the vast unholy unwashed are busy with hip hop, country, electronica, or loud, wet flatulence😂.
@@deekaye9403 With all due respect I would imagine it is a more recent ex. Colin is an awesome guy and they seem to really still care about each other just not in a romantic way.
@@jhrdrake7205absolutely.. you can tell their chemistry is amazing .. it’s the irony of it all. I love when she looks at him. Lots of passion - I will forever be watching this
I love the wrong chord at 1:10. I think she over performs. This song is great in the recordings being so tantric. Also wish she would have females in the band. I think the vocals and energy would be better. I love her though.
Saw Kathleen last night in small theater (Upstate NY). She had a female violinist/keyboard/vocalist in the band. They were amazing and Kathleen blew the doors off the place.
They play this at my job, it's a haunting tune and I LOVE it.
lol at my job too

Yeah, they're ok.
🙂 Sorry, couldn't help myself. Those Guys are Brilliant. 👍
I'll be really Pissed off if She Quits again. And My opinion matters. ❤️
It's so fucking good. Everything - writing, arrangement, delivery

Such a dynamic performance by the band and piercing lyrics by KE!
Just heard this on WMVY radio-not soon enough, kick a** shoes btw! Will be listening on repeat!

I think it was an editing room decision. There were multiple fixed cameras.
That’s the incomparable Aaron Goldstein on steel. An underrated and under recognized great steel player.

This song has it all. Great arrangement, incredible lyrics. Amazing delivery both by the band and the singer.
Queen of the Relative Minor. Fantastic.
And the Picardy third :)
Heard this via the series “Dickinson.” Damn fine music. Will be listening to more by Kathleen Edwards. Thank you!
Damn good get down and do it number. Raw and energetic. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love the performance of and music made by every one in this video
THIS MOVED ME! A friend shared this... I love it. Thanks for your genius, your lyrics. Thanks Chuck Blanch - & Kathleen Edwards

What a gorgeous woman, incredible voice, beautiful lyricist.
Wow so amazing talent u have thanks for this it is bieutiful ! 🥰
cameraman was confused as hell by the guitar solo coming from the pedal steel at the end!!! :)
Awesome. Love it.
This song literally makes me glad I've been single the last 10 years :) ugh relationships are work!
Thank you for posting this. Crazy good performance
Haven't heard a new decent voice for a while. She has one, though. TY for the post.
This one hits home
Nice. There's only the one Kathleen.
the Canadian accent can't be shaked. it's great
That riff sounds like under pressure by war on drugs
Well that was some coolness.

❤
Her ex on guitar makes this performance that much better
Which one is he ?

Kathleen needs to tour with Jason Isbell!
No
P.s. she should take her own solos. I mean why not?

I think the men all stayed in their lanes and let her shine. The guitarist didn’t go off until she encouraged him.
So underrated ....So overtalented...
I like her music. I respect her. But it always seems like 10,000 men surround her. 😊 Does she EVER work with other Women? Asked in fun. ❤👍
Confession. I'm just a boring old folksinger. I plagiarize her and her boyfriends from War on Drugs. ❤️
Just kidding. Your GUYS Rule . 😅
It gladdens my iphone that you've returned to your True Calling.
Just don't blow it this time, OK!? Dammit .Sigh. Said with ❤️✌️Love.
