The 98th annual Chincoteague Island Pony Swim

At nearly 100 years old, it's one of the most unique events found anywhere in the United States: the Chincoteague Island Pony Swim, where wild ponies are corralled from Assateague Island and led across the channel to Chincoteague to raise money for the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department.
