Jimmy Buffett introduces live performance by ‘Escape to Margaritaville’ cast

Parrot heads rejoice: the Jimmy Buffett musical “Escape to Margaritaville” is about to open on Broadway, and Jimmy himself is on the TODAY plaza to introduce the cast’s performance of one of the big hits it features: “Volcano.”

@@gageshippy2256 the comment was back in 2018. It was a very fun silly musical. Was able to see it a month before it closed on Broadway. New York was too hard on this show because of it being Jimmy Buffett songs.

That was actually very entertaining. A bit cheesy but Broadway was getting stale. Good to introduce more people into it. It's really a awsome thing to experience. Rent is a great one.

Pat I love Rent and also Aladdin, but this is a type of musical Broadway needs...along with Spongebob Squarepants and Donna Summer.

I think right now is an interesting time for Broadway cuz, thx to Hamilton, it seems like they're now more willing to take new risks and directions previously unexplored.
