Jokes aside, Windows 7 was the best - clean UI without taking away features and was the last version with almost no spyware. Been looking to switch to Linux ever since it was discontinued.
I think most Linux users follow the belief that Windows 7 was the last good version of Windows.
I was recently given by a friend two Netbooks from 2010 on the aging Intel Atom N280. Windows 10 straight out of the box was topping the cpu at 100% without any additional apps installed. Even Windows 7 SP1 was too heavy for them.
In the end, I used Windows 7 SP0 straight from 2009 and disabled windows update. Installed an antivirus and configured TinyWall and told my friend to not use the internet unless absolutely necessary. It's a pity that Windows 7 support is gone.

As a gentoo user, the only update I fear and dread is qt-webkit.
My laptop can compile the kernel and all drivers cold in 10 minutes... Fucking qt-webkit takes literally multiple hours. How?!?

You forgot two ironic distros...which are Debian and Slackware.
Nothing gave me peace than these two GNU/Linux distro. Except these two, where ever I go, I always found something cringe (Arch users when pretend to be a *catgirl*) or Gentoo (not a thing to me and kind of terrible philosophy). Other hand hold distro like Void (drama between the team, and all again SystemD haters), Fedora (I liked it, and I also would say the community behind Fedora is great! But I dropped it because of SELinux and several hardening, I don't want in my daily driver) etc.
What is most interesting is that if I anytime had to use a source based distro, I'd rather pick Slackware or CRUX (most underrated distro, ever).
Anyway, the video is really funny to watch!

0:57 - Not really accurate anymore, yeah getting a fake key is bad, but Windows 11 can be used without a license key indefinitely with no warnings, pop-ups, or anything that dustrupts what you do. All it does it just disables all personalization settings, that's it.
I said fake key, but what I meant was cheap keys from sites like G2A (which do actually activate Windows, although Microsoft doesn't like these sites for obvious reasons).

I used OSX from 2009 to 2020, on the same computer. The stagnation is part of the point- if everything is in the same place, nobody's workflow is disrupted.
After that I switched completely to Windows 10. Windows 10 sucks, but is better for gaming and software development. I'm switching to Debian now, as I don't want to pay for security updates in 2025.

i mean h have used 7 all my life imma go to 10 when i get a new laptop in like 2 months because i am using a satellite l655-1e9 a 2011 laptop woth a first gen i3 and ati mobility radeon hd 5470 gpu it has half the system ram because i think someone stole some ram from it it has 2gb it had a 500gb hdd but it was dead as a doorknob
keyboard was dead and now featuring a broken hindge it runs 7 because x86 and i didn't wanna put a 64 bit os on it because 2gb of ram

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Everyone is different so everyone will be suited to different things. It's mostly a matter of personal preference.
Having said that, Arch is the best. I use arch btw.
I would not be surprised if that or something like it is what I'll be using in 10 years. For now though, I need to get Debian to work properly with my graphics card.

I still have a Discord account, but I only use it for my friends. Since I support free software, it doesn't make sense to have a Discord server when it isn't necessary.
Plus, bridging a Matrix space and Discord server has some limitations. Matrix and Discord users can't DM each other, the bridge bot can be a bit slow, and instead of having a normal VC, you have to invite Discord users to a Jitsi conference if people want to talk.
