sorry for random comment but it actually does sample this :)) the original is misty by eroll garner, but johnny smith covered this and made a guitar version (also called misty) and thats where the starting riff came from, im doing an analysis on lofi genre and chose this piece so i did a deep dive lol, but it quite literally is just that song w drum beats and effects added

This song is so relaxing, something that would play as a background music of my life, yet it’s something that hurts me, whenever I hear this song, I think of my life, my family, the bonds I’ve built through it, the good memories and accepting the bad. When I grow older, this song will have a much bigger impact, both positive and negative, I’m listening to this song a lot of times now to make me used to it and take out all the negative emotions, such as wanting to go back in time, loss of family members and memories, grief, depression, sadness, and anxiety, and instead listening to this song whilst attaching its connotation to the good times, such as family time, days where it’s just absolutely chill, and having faith. I might not make any sense, but all I’m just saying is, live and be happy.
7 months later, I am here in 8th grade, mentally now more matured, I will miss my last year of middle school, 2021 rn September 20, I will forever cherish my memories and while yes my relationships and friends will recede from my grasp, I will still be thankful that I’ve met them because sadder and nostalgic memories you wish you could go back to makes us stronger to the upcoming memories we will have and eventually lose from our grasps, we must be thankful for our memories, but also be mature enough to move on and be strong.
Dislike within the lofi community is a mystery to this day since any of these songs residing in this genre are sooo diverse it particularly targets people with different specific taste 😭
