@barevids- I really ❤ed Boom or Bust. It would be cool to Re-visit this series, with a (D1)- 8" sub-woofer, wired to 1/2 ohm, to (1)- Taramps Big Boss Bass 3k. Their are real, higher X Max sub woofers in the 8" range, like Dd, sundown, B2, skar, ct sounds, gately audio, etc.. Make a bigger test vehicle, than you had for that 2" or 3" woofer you used to test with. I really think more people would watch if you used a real sized subwoofer= that are subwoofers people would actually go out and buy to use. Almost no one was going to go out and buy a 2", or 3", so thats why i think your 1st iteration of boom or bust didn't do well. So close, but so far away, your concept/idea was/is Brilliant, but with a product people want to use= Game changer! Heck, try these wild enclosures with the 8" sub woofers in a hatchback car like you used to have in your videos years ago! This then will be really useable info, that your test results, would give for real vehicles, with real sub woofers, people WANT to buy! Please consider this, would ❤💖 to see this as a series, Re-vamped= in a real vehicle, with real high X Max sub woofers, like a 8".
@@evilinside5984 dude how tf am I gonna make test enclosures for a driver that size 😂 thanks for your input but the whole point of this was to make them 3d printable otherwise it's even less viable lol. The scaling works fine 😁
@@barevids- It's called making revisions. Obviously making all of these 3D printed enclosures are Not, possible with a 8 inch subwoofer. So you make what you can, out of normal enclosure materials, which again making revisions, to what most people would be able to use/do. I don't know of anybody, that has a 3D printed enclosure, only you, and PWK designs. I have NEVER seen anyone with a 3D printed enclosure, @ all of the car audio shows i have been to. Smart people learn from failures= you didn't get the views you hoped for, so maybe listen to a few viewers ideas, of what they would like to see? Like im trying to suggest, and your being rude to me. Im not some kid, who is being a D-Bag to you, i am a subscriber of yours, for many years. My blood is boiling, but i chose to type considerately.
@@evilinside5984 I'm not being rude at all buddy! I just think you didn't understand what boom or bust was haha, it's not to simulate 3d printed enclosures in real life, it's a scaled testing ground that simulates real world real scale performance. I don't have the space, time or resources to make a new large wooden enclosure for every video, or any test cabin to accommodate that would scale to a full size vehicle with that size. BOB is simulating a full size vehicle cabin scaled by a factor of 6, with all the frequencies and fluid dynamics scaled by the same factor. The 3d printing element is just for huge convenience, people can go crazy with their ideas and they'll just print rather than them requiring 30yrs woodworking experience and a week to assemble. If a design works well in the BOB format, then it will also work equally as well scaled up to full size, and the plan was/still is to make full size versions of some of the top BOB performers so that people can see how the scaling translates into real size. The /6 factor scale works well, so for season 2 I just need to decide whether to stick with single "12", or give people a fixed volume and they can choose whatever combination of drivers they like to try and get as loud as possible from that fixed volume. I do really appreciate your input, please don't think I was being rude I know that over the internet or can come across that way sometimes

I'm not gonna lie. After watching this channel for awhile I feel I need to try a taramps amp and feel the joy parker has. Christmas for Dad sounds good to me hahaha
They’re decent. Not as efficient or safe as Korean boards. I currently run a hd3000 on 3 skar evls & it seems like its holding up. Definitely drawing more amps than id like but its pushin them all no issues. I blew a smart 3k on accident because my negative battery terminal fell off & fried it. Stuck in protection..
@@Perkyglee556 I appreciate the input. I can't say I've done too much research between all the different manufacturing styles. I've been really wanting to put something big together for quite some time so I think that might be summer goals. I've also been looking at the JP stuff quite a bit.

@@cgkiller1220if you gonna run a JP don't wire em down and make sure you give them PLENTY of airflow, they get hot ASF.
3:20 Loctite threadlocker purple comes in at the lower end of the spectrum and is ideal for fasteners smaller than 6mm. This is perfect for low strength

Yeah a blue or purple LocTite works to keep the set screw from vibrating out. The Set screw length is short so that when you have the maximum sized wire inserted, it doesn't stick up too high causing an arc hazard. If you want to run a smaller cable size then it's up to you to replace it.
Also the easy fix if you are going to leave a terminal without a cable is to cut a small piece of 3/4 or 1/2 clear PVC vinyl tubing and squish it with the Allen bolt. This will keep them snug and won't let them fall out.
Bro ive been waiting so long for this I just ordered one of these big boss 8ks on the 7th it gets here soon I hope there better then the smart bass 8k!!!
For future reference whenever you have a amp that you know is going to loose the set screws whenever it is not hooked up simply cut a small piece of wire or a dowel rod and stick that in the holes and snug up the screws. No more lost screws. I hope this helps you out somewhere down the road.

The non-perks of having a clean ran system. Upgrades and non exact replacements are subject to change how they look. I myself replaced the single 10 in the back of my wagon project for a pair of 12s, and now I need to move some cables around so the box can sit where I want it. I may have to extend the double 0 gauge wire for power & ground from the rear battery to the bus bars in order for the cables not to get snagged.
I love it. Im going to upgrade to a 5k when i can afford a high amp alt & access battery. Keep up the incredible vids.

fyi its not a tiffany connector its a rca panel mount . dont know why everyone calls them that . they are basically the same price but take more time to install . time is money . just like the ring on top of the spider of a woofer. reason for them is time . instead of waiting for the ca glue to dry toss one of the rings on and done . also put threadlocker on your bolts to keep them from backing out .

Its amazing how much power can be had for the price point these days. An 8k amp which can put out 11-12k no problem and all for cheap! Diggin the RGB effects too. Kinda want one myself.

Going to run my wiring for my little budget build tomorrow ( weather permitting ) only doing 1 Machete 12R 1200w rms @ around 1500w rms with a Stinger MT-1500.1D and possibly some deaf bonce 6×9 on an old school kicker impulse 352xi ... Wish me luck, used to run all audiobahn back in the early 2000s but haven't done much in years !
That's a decent brand of amp and like this amp is a decent price at 350.00 so not bad not great good amp though.
Cool. I guess it's basically a Smart Bass 10k then? I don't need a 10k watt amplifier and I don't have a big system anymore, but it's cool that Taramps is out there making decent big power amplifiers for fairly cheap. It sure would be fun to play with if I can ever afford a toy for myself again.

The ripple current in the power supply will be enormous, the caps in the amp will not last long. It would be interesting to just how many minutes at 5000Watts and above the amp will take continuously in to dummy load before going pop. The amp puts out about 115~120Vac into 2Ohms, if you feed the amps 60z at full power just at or below clipping, you can run household appliances, jugs, heaters, motors and use the amp as a Inverter, just see what happens to amp when u run it like this.
You can go to Lowe’s and get some longer bolts for the wire that’s what I do

I used to listen to people saying Taramps is a distortion machine. The bass sounds horrible compared to a half bridge Korean amp. Yet Parker along with thousands of others say differently. I think 🤔 the price is fair and the power is true. I will try one. 👍

I bought the boss 3k because i had one Meso 12 D2 then added another so I was at .5 ohm. Had 2 Skar RP1500.1's but the Meso's ate that up.

Hey tune it and give it the necessary juice it needs and you will be fine going on my 2nd year and running strong my bass 8 but I love them don’t see no reason to spend 3k unless im feeling myself because like tools and other equipment so gotta budget!

Slowly getting parts for my install for my car just recently got an audio control line out converter with a bass remote next step is buying all the wires I need and stuff then Ill get another bass amp hopefully be bassing soon. what I shoulda done was rip out all the wires from my old car when it was wrecked but I didnt oh well fresh start
The current off the battery is around 1000Amps, for 12kw its a big ask for any 12V system. Most batteries will not tolerate this kind of abuse for long. Also the voltage on the speaker output is rather high too. Note u need 100VAC for 5KW into 2Ohms, at 8 Ohms you need 200VAC to get 10KW into 8 Ohms and you need 283Volts AC, Voltages above about 180VAC are quite dangerous too touch, 550Vac causes complete dielectric failure of human skin on fingers. Audio Bass frequencies 20~200Hz are no different to the mains supply.

How do the rca’s work with it being 1 in and 1 out? Do you just run a y splitter to the 1 in or put both rca connectors regular: one in the 1 in and one in the 1 out?
Yo yo . Just put rca 3in adapter/extension on so you one push on rca in n out . Then u just use end of other side . Never touch them again problem solved . 😎

Yo my guy I ended up getting a amplifier that is 2000 watts I want to say it's a good size one but man it is powerful it's got really good sound and my car no longer when it shuts down goes into this weird like constant buzzing sound. I don't know if you've ever heard of the audio pipe but that's the amp I got to be honest I got it from a store and it looks to me like he charge me twice of what the highest asking prices for it on Amazon. But I got to say it does sound good and I like it powerful

It's sad that the "budget" brand is the front runner in innovation. This is also so nice for weird sub number configurations like 3,5,6 etc. Because you can basically get any subs and make them .5-2ohm

I get that taramps is budget friendly which makes them popular but they should really invest the money there putting in the LED lights and put it into better heatsink get rid of the plastic or a better cooling system something to help the amp stay cool not add something like LEDs which will only make the amp get hotter quicker taramps is already known for getting hot quick and overheating if not watched that is the main reason I haven't tried them I want to be able to install it and not have to worry about it unless I'm just pushing it to the max for long periods but to be honest I have stopped at rest stops before after hours of driving and going full tilt and my kicker CXA 1800's are barely warm I mean yeah you can tell they are being used but it's just that a normal warmth not hot and they don't have fans or anything so why do these overheat and melt 🫠 so much just wondering if im missing something that people are doing wrong that makes them do that or is it the things like the plastic, LEDs and other cheap unnecessary stuff

I wouldnt want a longer set screw for power wires, because it will stick up on the top. If you dont have wires in and have it in car, just stick in some wire ferrules and tighten slightly. Most companies use a piece of plastic tubing, which would have been nice if taramps used, but for the money I paid, I can care less.

Hey Parker, got a 15 inch Memphis Mojo. 4ohm DVC 2200w RMS and 4400w peak. I have it jumped to 2 ohm and was wondering which one of the taramps amplifiers you would recommend for the sub? Was thinking of doing the HD 3000 2ohm but would like another’s opinion on it or recommendation

I think if the set scres were longer, with that 2/0 wire in em, they would sit up above the terminals and things could short on them easier? And I suppose that'd cause them big issues?
Long as the correct size wires are used the short screws won't matter

Big boss series does .5-2ohm. Smart series only guarantees 1-2ohms
