Maximus Decimus Meridius hahaha its one of those things, if you want to win in attila you have to bring cav and if its not better cav you need to bring more, though i do like some of you vids regarding the horse hewers and infantry vs cavalry, i think there is a way to smash the horse meta
you either die a hero or win long enough to become the meta.. btw your attacking testudo did break on contact, you can see the ability icon missing in the unit card section where the active abilities are listed, right above those that are available.
Very cool battle. Also nice to see formations such as the diamond being actually good for something, or the attacking testudo actually being used for attacking.
HeirofCarthage i dont think that much changed in the relationship between the masses of shock cav and melee cav from rome 2, so that means they probably have pretty similar masses
Personally, I think it'd be a good idea to see how the patch does first, or it's just going to boil down to: has Tagmata cav, best faction, has Germanic cav, good faction, have none of those, meh faction.
We won't know till it launches. Mass changes and weapon type changes could be good or bad. Also it says prices are being changed across the boars. So that potentially changes things as well.
Sebastian Abisleiman I think spears should wreck cavalry, and by doing this, it would bring back the need for offensive infantry like swords and axes. But you should keep the devastating charge bonus of the cavalry, because it just makes sense.
Hey heir why not do a mod campaign? Say DEI for rome 2? I find DEI made the game way more. That is if Attila online still isnt boring. And is it just me, or do there seem to be a lot more toxic players than i'm used to with total wars.
Very cool battle. Also nice to see formations such as the diamond being actually good for something, or the attacking testudo actually being used for attacking.
Damn, this battle was satisfying to watch. Nothing better than watching a shock cav completely destroy an infantry general.
Yea, I love shock cav.
Gaius Patchicus is the greatest commander that Rome has ever seen.
Excellent use of your Cataphractari and General
That was probably the most awesome Cav manuavering ive seen. Cool stuff Heir
Excellent battle Heir, some of the best I've seen from you. A true joy to watch.
Good game, but Heir.. Defying the meta by bringing 50% more cavalry than your opponent..

Lol. Maximus you seem almost bitter at CA's balanced meta XD
But it was WRE rather than Germanic something something. ;)
HeirofCarthage if you can't beat the meta, join the meta
WolfofRemusTW indeed

That was beautifully executed, Heir!
That chain-shock cav charge at the beginning sure was purty.
Damn nearly 500 kills on your gen! That's like a quarter of his army!
I always enjoy your commentary, Heir. Great stuff, keep up the good work.
how are german horseman heavier than cataphracts? dammit CA
Cataphactarii are listed as medium shock cav :/
HeirofCarthage i dont think that much changed in the relationship between the masses of shock cav and melee cav from rome 2, so that means they probably have pretty similar masses
Maybe the germans have heavy balls :p
Excellent!!.. Very entertaining battle.. Not won by luck or supremacy.. just good old tactics:D..
I find it beautiful to see cataphracts used the way they should.
Hey Heir when are you going to resume your faction focuses? The Rome 2 faction focus where a lot of fun.
Personally, I think it'd be a good idea to see how the patch does first, or it's just going to boil down to: has Tagmata cav, best faction, has Germanic cav, good faction, have none of those, meh faction.
Those gaps are so deadly, utter destruction
HI! I'm going to buy my very first total war title, which one do you recommend? Is Attila a good one?
Thanks a lot man! I think I'm gonna buy Attila, hoping that the mp will be fixed one day, however thank you for the tips :)
Very clean execution, well done ;).
Favorite Attila: Total War Online Battle so far..
Ive always wondered what buttons or button do u press to highlight where your forces are going?
Press and hold space bar on ur keyboard
Usually it is space key, unless they've changed it in Attila.
Jack Bush more important where did the arrows buttons go? where you move your soldiers forward or revers them without using the mouse.
So is Patch 1 going to actually change the meta? Reading through it I didn't find any major changes to any units or unit types.
We won't know till it launches. Mass changes and weapon type changes could be good or bad. Also it says prices are being changed across the boars. So that potentially changes things as well.
Ah okay. I hope Romans get a bit of a buff.
Is it reasonable to ask for infantry to have more of a role in game because right now cav reigns supreme?
Sebastian Abisleiman I think spears should wreck cavalry, and by doing this, it would bring back the need for offensive infantry like swords and axes. But you should keep the devastating charge bonus of the cavalry, because it just makes sense.
crazycakemanflies Yay someone agrees!
Fav battle so far. Liking the Western Romans.
Yeah this was definitely one of my favorite Attila battles.
Awesome battle Heir!

Oh yeah, WRE! My favorite faction! Too bad they're one of the worst in the game
Very cool battle. Also nice to see formations such as the diamond being actually good for something, or the attacking testudo actually being used for attacking.
