Tatiana Maslany only does motion capture for her face. The on set She-Hulk is played by a real person who is really there and her name is Malia Arrayah. She is 6'5" just 2 inches short of She-Hulks 6'7". I do not know if the shows She-Hulk is only 6'5" or if Malia Arrayah wears platforms to make up that 2".

I loved the end credits image of Pug's closet of sneakers. As someone from Germany, I have no idea about most of the LA stuff, but I never felt at any point that I was missing out on the fun, so the show is definitely doing that right.
All you need to know about LA is traffic and more traffic and more traffic and finally a really expensive area.
Not only did we get a great episode with Jen finally embracing the name She-Hulk but Jen FINALLY has suits tailored to her made by the MCU’s version of Edna Mode. Also Titania is a great antagonist for the show, any villain that makes you so mad that you wanna punch them is doing a great job at being a villain.
And then the GOLDEN HORNED HELMET AT END AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! It was so great we didn’t even NEED a post credit scene! But you should look closer at the shoes in the credits, there are some great Easter Eggs in there, including Deadpool!

As a New Yorker, a lot of MCU events and heroes are based in NYC and it’s always nice to see reference points or landmarks that make it feel authentic, I’m happy that this feels like true LA to people from LA so I know what the actual experience is like
This has been a great show for me. I am down with all the LA stuff, it is all already recognizable because of media/pop culture gestalt. I personally love that this is not "obviously" serious and is exploring silly and sad at the same time.
The show is so fun. It's hard for me to say much else than im enjoying the hell out of it and can't wait to rewatch it all at once and really pay attention again.
You know what's funny, I saw comment said they gave too much screen time for side characters like Pug & Nikki.
Speaking of people that just want to hate on this show, I've literally seen two review thumbnails captioned "She buys a dress. That's all."

I love relaxing to this show to escape from the reality of life. I just wish the episodes weren’t so short.
I don't get most of the inside LA jokes but I still like it when they joke about that stuff because it gives the show character and feels more real.

As someone who has never lived and only transited through LA, it's not too LA. I don't get references like Magic Castle, but I don't need to. I mean every New York show ever is like "Look at all this New Yorky New York stuff!" It's set in LA, it should accurately represent LA.

Another wonderful episode. I also loved Daredevil's classic yellow suit teased. Titania roasting She-Hulk in this episode was petty. The return of creepy Todd Phelps. Luke Jacobson was giving me Edna Marie "E" Mode vibes. Pug and Nikki are a fantastic duo. She-Hulk episode 5 easter eggs: Pug and his surprisingly large shoe collection deserve credit for the latest Marvel comics reference. Here's the complete list of Marvel characters who aren't technically in the MCU but have shoes on the wall in the credits: Nova, Namor, Cyclops, The Thing, Deadpool, Ghost Rider, Cable, Iceman, and Man-Thing. We know Namor will be in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Man-Thing was spotted ' in the Werewolf by Night' trailer.
The guy who designed "Avongers" and "Avingers" is Truck Torrence who runs 100% Soft and has designed many of Marvels emoji characters. His fiance is She-Hulk head writer Jessica Gao, and he was one of the guys She-Hulk swiped past on her phone (dressed in sailing/yachting outfit holding a cat) in the previous episode!!
His design for the She-Hulk tv show Megamoji vinyl desktop buddy looks amazing and shows some of the purple and white outfit, before its shown in the show!! (There's also a Smart Hulk megamoji !!)
Nice visual wrap up with story of Jen embracing the name She-Hulk, and then finally getting some clothes that fit both personas. It dawned on me this episode that both characters looked so000 uncomfortable in that huge suit.
Slightly better than last week, but not by much.
The whole courtroom battle over the She-Hulk trademark was nice and compelling. That looked like something that could happen in real life.
Also, Pug being a sneakerhead is cute. I need to get me some "Avongers" merch.
I also wanna give a shout-out to Jameela Jamil as MCU Titania. That American accent and outrageous outfits are perfect for an influencer.
Also, given what I read about the Todd character, I am not looking forward to what he will end up being.
Last but not least, the Daredevil tease at the end? *chef's kiss*

Yes, this is the most comic-accurate portrayal in the MCU (no the best TV series, but the most accurate).
My personal experience with LA (from the east coast, been living here for 4 years) is that people who are LA natives love it here, and for transplants it's a mixed bag, and I think that's because it is a very unique city so some people really vibe with it and some people don't. And some people have preconceptions about it/what living here means so when it turns out differently for them it's easy to shit talk it.
I don't really know LA. I haven't been there in a couple decades. It'll probably add a little more to know all the LA specific stuff, but even not knowing where specifically this stuff is doesn't take anything away from the show for me. Still loving it.
as a new yorker, i'm totally delighted to see someone else's home town on screen. we've had more than our fair share.

I agree with the whole Los Angeles setting thing, because personally I love the 2004 Punisher with Thomas Jane because it's set in my hometown of Tampa so I recognize set pieces in the areas I grew up near they made it all the more fun to watch
I've seen people saying nothing happened this week and this is one of my personal pet peeves. Charachter development is not nothing/Filler and people need it spelled out for them when it's more subtle. This show has put a big emphasis on Jen adjusting to She Hulk not just the physical aspect but the idenity too. And so this episode is very important for her growth as a charachter, we're at the point now where I actually don't think there will be a main villian here and that's perfectly fine. That's not to say their won't be any conflicts period, but I think their focus is on her own journey to embrace the new side of her.

It's funny how some are saying how did Titania produce things so quickly. Clearly, those people don't know how influencer products often work especially in the high fashion field. Things like these types of things are bought in bulks overseas and is labeled even before trademarks. Happens all the time. Just look at the Later phone cases.
LA's just being the setting for the show. Yeah, the rest of us out here in "flyover country" may not specifically get the jokes or references, but we're glad you do and that you are amused by them. Trust us, those of us in Chicago do the same thing with the Chicago Fire/Med/PD shows; we smile when they get something right (PD or Fire in one of the early seasons had doughnuts from the bakery near where I lived at the time) and laugh when they do something goofy (like using the Zurich building in Schaumburg as some sort of college). I don't think it is being "too L.A."
As someone from the other side of the pond, I don't feel I'm missing out on the local colour. I can see how it's great for someone who lives there but it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the show at all. And I'm REALLY enjoying the show.
I never thought about it being too inside baseball. That never crossed my mind. So many shows that are based and filmed in many places that features the location. Hawaii-5-0 is a great example. I love here and enjoy the sites but so have people who have never come here. LA, for years have featured LA in shows. This ain't nothing new. I think you're right. Just people finding excuses to hate. I'm loving this show!! But this episode but me hard. When that guy said he liked She Hulk not Jen...ooohhh! My heart broke for her! Anyway... Thanks guys! I get that LA conversation because I live in New York City so there is always an element of IYKYK whenever something is set there and they reference landmarks right by where i live.

Some of us who don't live in LA can get the gist of it and it's fun when where you live is in media movies books telly shows et....like how I felt when that one dating profile said he was banned from Winnipeg, Canada...where I live...it's fun so am sure you guys are having a hoot being in LA!
Melvin Potter was put in jail by the end of Daredevil S3, not to mention that he was at odds with Matt. So it makes sense that he would look for someone else to make the suit, and why not, change the design (reason for that to be revealed soon).

Melvin got arrested by the FBI in Daredevil season 3. Matt went to him to find out how the fake DD got the red suit and he found out Melvin supplied it after Fisk threatened Betsy again. After that the FBI stormed Melvin's workshop to capture Daredevil during which Melvin was arrested. I guess Matt never managed to get Melvin out of custody following season 3 or he never tried.

I found this to be another great episode. Very well-done and very enjoyable. And, I feel like the LA-ness of this has been covered in lots of movies and shows over the years, and so I think it is all a part of the pop culture landscape.

I didn't think about it at the time, but I don't think Daredevil has access to Melvin Potter anymore, because he told him to run and hide in season 3. And his original suit would have been confiscated as evidence because Bullseye was wearing it. So if he wants a new suit, he'd have to find a new tailor.

I'm from Massachusetts and I didn't get any of the LA references, but it was enough that I got it. I agree that they did just enough so I could follow, but it didn't feel forced either. Good balance.

Or really it’s probably more of a symbolic thing calling back the fact that it is his first suit in the comics, and this is his “first” MCU appearance.
I would imagine that in every superhero universe there are people who make a business out of creating super suits and indestructible/adaptable regular clothing for powered individuals. Wonder what the price was for Jen's stuff? They didn't get into that part

I don't care what the haters say. I love this show. It might be the funniest show in the MCU so far. The entire cast is brilliant, the chemistry is amazing and the delivery of every line is perfect.

We did comment on the Iron Man Threes but we watch these shows in real time and don't pause them to frame-by-frame them.
Was I alone being mad that their wasn't an after credit stinger??? But the show could go on forever just being like this, the shit the people of the MCU deal with and She Hulk just being a lawyer sorting it out in the real world terms. And just have an occasional MCU hero swing by every now and then as they come and go as they do in the MCU

Melvin was arrested in DDS3 on Netflix. Fisk blackmailed him to make a new DD suit for Bullseye and then made him try to set up DD. DD escaped the trap but Melvin was arrested.

I don't live in LA and still get most of the LA jokes because pop culture in general and LA people talk about themselves and the city so much that it sort of seeps out through podcasts, YT videos, movies, TV shows and other projects it's hard to not get at least a bit of it.

The only "complaint" I have about the show is the way her dates don't want anything to do with Jen and are only there for She-Hulk. Tatiana is a beautiful woman and the idea that no one would be interested in Jen is a little ridiculous. As for the LA stuff I can tell that there's things I am probably missing but it's not taking anything away from the show. Nothing wrong with a good in joke if it's not taking away from what's happening. I am really loving to hate Titania which hats off to Jameela with how she's playing the character. I was internally screaming "You instigated all of this" when she called Jen a hater and that this wasn't over. I am having a lot of fun watching this
She hulk went on a total of 4 dates. How does that lead to the idea that "no one would be interested in Jen"?

This is pure sitcom, so it's okay to have inside-baseball references. That's how so many sitcoms work. What it does make me wonder if, like all sitcoms, they intend to have it as an ongoing series. Seems like there's no big impact storyline being established, so its intended to be an annual recurring show instead. Hope so.
Loving the show so far, and I do hope we get some Matt Murdock. On another note, someone mentioned it on Twitter (and I agree with it), that being set in L.A., there is near zero Mexican representation in She-Hulk (aside from the "I love Mexico" shirt, which really was when they were in "Mexico" with no Mexicans on sight lol). It's obvious that Nikki and Pedro the bartender (same guy from the Cobra Kai liquor store) are Hispanic, but they could very well be any other ethnicity and it would not affect the story whatsoever. Speaking of Cobra Kai, that show had more Hispanic/Latino representation in their very first episode than the MCU has had in its entire run (4 phases so far). Keep it up homies!

I thought about how that tailor doesnt fit Matt Murdock and how he already had his suit tailor Melvin Potter. But wasnt Melvin in last season arrested? He still was blackmailed by Fisk, trying to kill Daredevil, then wasnt he arrested and Daredevil's red suit last time we saw it was used by Bullseye to frame Daredevil for multiple murders. So in the end, it does make sense, that Matt would not only change his tailor, but also change his suit color to fix his name. At this point I only hope that Bullseye also comes back in his original suit. Ending of Daredevil S3 teased that and I hope they deliver on it. Maybe in Daredevil Born Again?
It will be interesting how they explain DD getting a yellow suit, and tbh, I hope DD hates it and it can be joke when he comes back in his own show. Because yellow DD was because of the color of his father's robe/boxing shorts, which Netflix fans saw it as red with yellow letters. And frankly his red and red/black suits look better. DD, played by Charlie Cox is a bad ass, and needs the proper drip, imo.
@@sorroww0lf179 I honestly dont care if DD likes the yellow on his suit or not, but it would be funny if someone mentions that his suit is yellow and he is like 'what...?' xD from what Ive heard, we are going to get many different looks in next years. This yellow and red one was already rumored to be in SheHulk like 2 years ago and it turned out to be true, so next rumour is also probably a certainty at this point - so next part is very possible spoiler -> Echo series is rumoured to include Fisk (obviously) but also Daredevil in his black and red suit, kind of like his shadowland one. And I would guess that his own series will feature for the first time new, classic red suit with DD letters finally being portrayed on his chest (that last part is my blind guess, but I consider it very probable).
