I just finished it on gold with about 9 seconds to spare, didnt even realise there are logs. My strategy was 3 arrows to each component on the 1st scorcher, 3 arrows on each of the 2 top components of the 2nd and then blast sling spam. Then on bellowbacks 3 arrows to explode front sack which instantly applies frost and allows 3 arrow explode the back sack. On frostclaws you can just stand at the gate and shower them with hard hardpoints from afar, with any luck you will explode 1 and apply freezing before they get to you. When they get to the gate and stack I used shadow sling fire spam which applied full debuff in 3-4 slings and continue with the blast sling for high aoe. Not as cool and flashy as what you demonstrated but its alot safer imo.
The frostclaw kills were far from effective. Blast sling is the best weapon here. The freeze sac on the body explodes very fast and then spam hardpoint arrows

It doesn't really matter which one to use: you either hit faster or hit harder, the result is roughly the same. Of course, if you're not trying to hit their weak spots and just going for DPS, hardpoint arrows or rattler are your best choice. But I did try to hit their sacks. Was missing a lot, though :) Anyway, it wasn't about doing it the most efficient way, it was about simply doing it. In this video I use banuk sharpshoot bow fully modded with damage mods. Keep in mind that it isn't NG+ game, so only two outfit slots and only three weapon slots to use.
You did great dude, increase the damage on sharpshot bow and u might do it a lot faster. Also shoot more while they are frozen, immediately after freezing, take a 3-arrow shot fully charged and then do as many singles as u can in it's frozen state
It's non+ UH, so no easy mode with Adept Weapons :) Three 48-50 damage mods on that bow - and it's as much as you can get. I do know about frozen state, but a - frostclaws can actually "shake off" frozen effect very quickly as you can see in the video, b - "when I keep missing, I keep missing" :) I decided not to go for a perfect run and share this video instead to show that you don't need to be perfect to pass TFW trials on UH - because some ppl were complaining that these trials are way too hard.
Interesting approach, curious why you did't try to stealth up to 1 of the Frostclaws and override it; probably a lot safer and you can get them to whack each other for a bit softening up both. This is the last thign I need to do on my playthrough, been heavily regretting the whole run that I jumped into the DLC headfirst on my UH mode playthrough @__@ (previous run was on HM back in march lol) these new DLC enemies are grossly over-tuned, and the gear costs way too many shards - 12.5k is obscene. The base game was actually pretty fun and challenging, but the DLC areas aren't. I hope they tone them down on the higher difficulties if there's ever another DLC (or just in general - the Scorchers and bears hit way too hard and have too much HP)
You can't override demonic machines. Personally, I don't feel like DLC is overtuned - it's the fact that you're playing UH with its insane prices and halved elemental damage + higher elemental resistances of enemies. Your elemental weapon in the DLC is good for nothing but hitting their weak spots to trigger an explosion - it's basically the only reliable and ammo-efficient way to kill the new machines. Plus new Banuk sharpshot bow with its big damage. GG explicitly stated that this is the only DLC for the game. They're probably working on HZD2 already.
im using the same approach as you. i got it to where my precision arrows do like 152 damage. i kill the first scorcher with the logs, second one i hit the power generator and it goes down and i take a few hits. the bellow backs i just use the stormslinger and freeze them and shoot. the frost claws should be easy. just make it to where arrows do more damage

I use Shield Weaver, I like how you can avoid damage and heal up. Instead of being one shotted you get a second chance. Before that though I abused the hell out of the Tinker ability, I just used a three slot gear (on NG not NG+ so I don't think there is a four one) and I'd carry around 3 of every type of purple mod and swap constantly mid combat depending on what was going to hit me. In all honesty I think I was tankier doing that than using the Shield Weaver, but Shield Weaver makes me not have to use healing as much, which I like. Also, really good video! We have a similar play style for the Scorchers. Although I was 15 seconds too long to get gold, and realized right now if I used the log traps I definitely wouldve made it. And I believe they fixed the bugged armor resistances!
Resistances work only for newly bought armors, the ones you already have in your inventory are still bugged. They promise to fix it in a new patch, though.
Ryan Gerard Damage + handling (secondary stat) for Sharpshot Bow, handling + damage (secondary) for Hunter Bow, freeze for Sling, damage for Tripcaster.

Ryan Gerard Native outfit resistances are currently bugged, so right now armor type means nothing. But yes, I mostly use Nora Protector with melee mods combined with resistance potions. If you already have dlc mods, use 3 slots armor and these mods for melee/ranged combination. Sell all the unnecessary quick items to have faster access to resistance and health potions.
I was able to lure both frost claws over to the log trap and then hit them both for a ton of damage. Killed one instantly. Used precision arrows for the other nearly dead one. My time was 3:24. I lucked out.
Yeah, there certainly are more effective methods. But probably the most ineffective part of my video is the final fight: I was unable to use logpiles, missed a lot and wasn't performing very good in general. Always happens when I'm recording a video to show something off :D

My slow mow has not worked the entire game! Im playing this shit, first run, on ultra hard with no slow mo whatsoever. I thought it was an ultra hard thing but now i see its just my game is broken. Its extremely hard to beat this trial with no slow mo and i jsut did it with a time of 4:17 mins, after like 20 tries. Screw this game...

... Ultra difficulty isnt difficult. If you want to absolutely destroy this trial. Oseram spark worker armor, load it with the highest lightning resistance weaves you can find. (Adept) stormslinger. Hidebound weapon mod, lightning weapon mod and if you have the adept version then use a pure damage mod or handling mod. Frost claws are just as much of a joke, for the frost claws the improved forgefire DESTROYS them. (Adept) improved forgefire, slot in the untested weapon coil, pristine weapon coil and a fire coil, if its your first run and dont have the adept improved forgefire, the untested weapon coil and a fire coil then you will be laughing. Also dont play stealthy, ultra hard is made more difficult if you pussy foot around, scared of everything you see. See that scorcher? Fuck it up, longleg watchers scrappers bellowback? Laugh and then fuck them up. Frost claws? Pull out your forgefire and fuck them up. its so disappointing at how many people thumb their nose at the forgefire, ice rail and storm slinger, they are the hands down best weapons in the game. No build up of chill water, sparkers, blaze or echo shells in your invy either Tips for the improved stormslinger, practice with it. If you cant kill a thunderjaw with it then youre not ready.
this is why I don't like the hardest difficulties in horizon. The game advertised itself as flashy and intense. On higher difficulties you tend to be more careful, here he just stays in hiding most of the time, no sliding under a monsters belly to hit a weak spot or anything. I just set it to hard and stayed there.
I agree that UH limits your options, not because you can get one-hit more often, but mostly because elemental damages and tear are halved across the board: weapon mods are percentage based, so everything but handling and damage becomes useless. This limits your customization options and your combat options severely and takes a huge part off the fun. You do have to hit weak spots on UH, because otherwise you will be dealing close to zero damage, while on other difficulties you can defeat almost everything with pure DPS. That said, I'm also having more fun when playing on Normal/Hard/Very Hard because I experiment more in combat and not just stick to the most effective way of killing machines.

For me the bombslinging weapon was essential against the Frostclaws but the fireclaws I mostly used melee and arrows.

Best weapon for this challenhe is the blast sling major damage. Just make sure you have enough resources

You can also switch your potions and dodge while weapon wheel is opened ;)

I done it in Very Hard. The rope when fighting Frostclaws is really helpful, because they can't get you when you are on it.

Dodge towards them and not away from them - it'll break their combos. True for all the new machines in the DLC.

IMO, it's also not the best weapon DPS wise: try rattler instead. Also, when I'm more focused, I hit way more, so things usually go faster :)
You were doing good until you got to the Frostclaw and wasted alot of time. Fire arrows would of helped alot faster.

i love playing on ultra hard. the enemies are not even that hard to kill on UH. they go down easily. you just cant see their health bars
It's all about combat options: on UH you have less. Yes, you can oneshot a thunderjaw with new OP Banuk stuff on UHNG+, but that's not fun.
