This is beauty to us old timers. I’m still rocking a pair of JBL L 300 Summits, I’ve owned them for about 36 years and the only thing I have had to do is re-cone the woofers twice.
I had JBL4333 and was fascinated with them from the first notes and I think L300 being wife friendly is even better, you should hold on to them 36 years more :) I now have 4343, they are even more fantastic, please check my latest videos :)
@@Justas-M Yes the JBL 4333 speakers are fantastic. My oldest brother was a huge HiFi nut back in the seventies. He had worked his way up to the JBL 4355 model. I guess that’s were I my schooling in stereo gear. Back then by the time I turned seventeen I had the L300’s and I had a Marantz receiver with 2 Marantz 240 amplifiers driving separate drivers in the L300’s,Turntable was a Thorens, a Soundcraftsman EQ and I used the JBL frequently dividing network to handle the bi amping. Then I got married in the early eighties, with kids coming and had to sell most of everything off. Going to start a refresh on the L300’s on the cabinets and do new crossovers in them.
@@Justas-M I sold my L 300’s to my brother in the early eighties, and moved down to the L100’’s. I had them for 2 years and missed my L 300’s to much. I found another pair of L 300’s for sale in 1984 and grabbed them, they were in excellent condition. I never made it back to what I had as far as the other components. At this point in my life I’m starting to think about bi amping and adding the separates back.Once I found these speakers again I never entertained the idea of parting with them.
Estupendo, que tomen nota los que dan tanta guerra con el "High End". Solo con lo que muestras es suficiente. Ahora ya no fabricaran cosas tan duraderas y eficientes.
I once used kiwi brown polish n a paint brush to spruce up an old chipped wooden speaker, it came out really good n shiny ✨ the polish smell, wasn’t off putting either, I’d give all that wood a going over!
not wanting to put down this nice system but try other than the M75 from Sure i think you´ll be amazed not a new one but other from the 70´s i used a lot shure cartridges and still have one of this but it doesn´t ....try other and you´ll notice what i meant saying
@@Justas-M i forget that videos are about a component not the maker own main system , i have two rooms for music listening as my sons are already with families and when coming over have a room for them but i have now a 70´s system in a room and a modern so to speak from 80´s, 90´s mainly, i had the luck of my father having spent a lot of money on hi-fi components from the 70´s , now that he already passed away i didn´t even knew all that he had stored, and i have some real nice sounding systems, but turntables i have a thorens professional from 65 ,took it from a radio station and sounds incredible with a V15 from shure three technics from the 70´s,SL-1310 and SL-1000mkII and two pioneers also from the 70´s, a PLC-590 20 series and a exclusive P3, a technics SL-M1 and a pioneer PL-707 from the 80´s and a thorens TD-2001 from the 90´s, they sound amazing good and lucky me the next audio store was 400km´s from my litle city and whenever my father had to go to Lisbon (Portugal) he always bought two needles for his turntables and i still have some 2 or 3 stylus for each cartridge i own ,only have to restore the drivers of some good 70´s speakers mainly JBL , tannoy and Pioneer, when i was 23 years old he caught me playing a new record in his pioneer system(now mine) and gave me a speech like i had killed somebody on my family, so i had a ES-2000 system from Pioneer bought in Japan`74 (he used to travel there in work) and a 1970 crossfield X-165D open reel deck from akai(works perfect today) that was my system till i was 28 years old after i improved it a lot, bought some huge cerwin-vega speakers and bought a power and pre-amplifier from Sony Esprit series (not good at all)had to repair it twice , now i´m good don´t need to spend more money on hi-fi equipment, but tried a lot of new cartridges and turntables of this new wave and none was close two my SL-1310 that i use the most and with maintenace never needed a repair the SL-1000MKII is all technics and have it hooked but only to play some records as it´s mc cartridge is good but i somehow prefer the mm that came with the 1310 ,new. I´ll follow your videos as they are interesting, i never had anything from Sansui but they say it´s good, that amplifier you have seemed complete as it got all the functions i use ,there and 70´s amplifiers do sound better, after in 1980 the sound of amplifiers become very steril and plastic made in general
JBL-L65 ? I loved their sound and wanted to buy them when I was a student, but they where exaggeratedly expensive. I could have bought one and cut one off one of my ears, but not the pair.
@@Joaopereira-dh3dw I no longer have this amplifier and turntable but I like this classic Whitesnake piece, will try to record it on the main system in a few weeks :)
Hold on......before ya start the music let me finish rolling this doobie dude. I love that old stereo equipment. I used to sell that stuff from a little high end stereo store in Salem, Oregon back in the early '70s. I personally had some custom cabinets built to the specs I got from JBL and the components of the enclosures were an LE 15 A woofer with a PR 15 passive radiator, An LE 185 compression driver w/ horn and acoustic lens, and an 075 Ring Radiator tweeter. My tuner was a McIntosh MR 77, preamp was a McIntosh C 26, and my sweet amp was a McIntosh C 105. I had a Teac 650 cassette player and a Tandberg 9200 XD reel to reel. OOOHHHH, I wish I still had that gear right now ! But here is the thing about " the professional grade " JBLs, not to be confused with the mass marketed, cheap JBL loudspeakers. And by the way your L65A have pro grade components. I believe the woofer is a D 130, no clue on the mid range loudspeaker, ah but the tweeter is an 077. THERE IS NO COMPARISON..........I will repeat, THERE IS NO COMPARRISON with the professional grade JBL speakers, uh, that you can still get......if you have a lot of free money to spend, with anything else on the planet. You have to hear them in person, A-B d' with any other brand of loudspeaker to hear the difference. I could go on and on about JBLs 'cause I do know quite a bit about them......but what sets them apart from any other manufacturer is their dynamic range. And it is all because of their engineering and precision and their Alnico 5 magnets, and many other things. But, that is just the way it are ! Signed, Doug.
Hi, Doug, thanks for taking your time to comment. I totally agree, what sets JBL apart from others is their dynamic range and never muffled sound, you will always hear everything as long as electronics allow. Please check my other videos with the blue baffle 4343 :)
Diesen göttlichen Sansui AU 20000 nannte ich auch mal mein Eigen. Nach 40 Jahren highfideler Futtersuche fragt man sich, was denn so viel besseres ihn hätte ersetzen sollen. 🧐🤔
The volume knob position would not surprise you if you knew there were three positions of muting on AU20000. I used muting to get the volume control knob in a position that is comfortable for my use.
Excelentes cajas acústicas.
Muchas gracias!
These equipment are so good condition I think. Last listening that high quality analog sound like this is 25 years ago. Precious.

Cool! Must have a lot of solid bass (meat) in person.
It does, AU 20000 has a lot of reserve power which makes the bass very solid.
