Now when the portal opens, the coaches can assess their roster needs and go after the best players at positions of need with the amount of money needed. Things are headed upward at Auburn and BTW, we got out QB and now we will get another in the portal.

They gotta make Terry an offer that’s even greater than UGA’s for us to win out and if they match it or he don’t take it then we tried.

A good signing day matters. No one should overlook it. Also, a great class guarantees nothing. Look at recent teams with great classes over the past few years that flag or fail: Florida State, USC, Oklahoma to name a few. Two things are true at once.

Flipping a 3 star isn't really all that impressive if we're being honest.... we might finish in the top 10 after we lose Starr. We ended up getting only 1 out of the 4 CBs we were recruiting....
@ Are you insane? An elite CB was 100% a need we wanted him bad, Offord would have been in the 2 deep if not a starter that potentially overtakes Kayin Lee. And even if he wasn’t a need he’s a 5 star corner from Birmingham that isn’t being pursued by bama you get him.

The process that the Offord people used to show his choice turned me off and indicated what a huge ego he had. He may be a great player but I'm not sure he would have been a good fit for Auburn.

What needs to be said, is that spend the next 30 weeks (till Sept) teaching n training Walker to take over (sorry Hank) for the next 2 yrs and allow Deuce to prep for the role after that and then the next high schooler after that. If you know that your employer is interviewing a hire to replace you in the next couple of weeks, would you not start looking to leave asap before you are forced out?

One kid flipped to FSU... a couple others didn't flip to Auburn. So far, we've kept 95% of the players committed. After this season, that's a huge win, having a consensus top 5 class already.
