I do not know if he was in trouble as a juvenile. Interesting to see how a defense attorney tries his best when dealt a bad hand.

The mention of "old 131" really brought back memories of my childhood! Until US 131 was put in, that 2 lane road was the main north/south route in Western MI (unless you lived on the coast, in which case I assume US 31 was probably your best option. . .)! I was raised just North of Grand Rapids (tiny town of 2,000 called Cedar Springs), but my parents were both originally from Mancelona. For years, our only route to see my grandparents was "old" 131!

He just filed an appeal last month or two stating the trial court abused its discretion when it was held he was precluded from using duress as a defense. His appeal Was denied lol

You are released on a bond contingent on being free until your case is final and done and it’s always contingent on staying out of trouble and even pending charges and warrants mean you are suspect in a crime. By this analogy, someone could bond out for capital murder or any heinous crime and continue to be brought up on new charges and committing them without having to go straight back to jail. Reminds me of those people you see who have 2-5 charges of first offense of OWI/DUI because they rack up em so fast the first one or even second isn’t yet final in the courts. WOW! It must be that goofy defendant insisting on that defense cause it seems really ridiculous.
