This was written by Seth Reiss. I think he deserves some credit here, it's a stand out sketch and Aaron Sorkin himself gave him props for it...obviously.
He’s one of my comics working!!! This skit is a perfect example of Seth’s genius. I’ve thrown a fit at work too. It’s good to do that once when a coworker is an asshole.
He forgot one of the most important aspect of any Sorkin sketch: every single character (whether the VP or the janitor) is the smartest person in the room, has never been wrong, and three steps ahead of whatever it is the other person has to say. Sorkin can be incredibly and sanctimonious, but I’ll be the first to admit that I can’t quit the guy. He’s my guilty pleasure
It's too bad West Wing was his only show that really took off. I know most of them are appreciated after the fact, but they all got cancelled too soon. RIP: Sports Night, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The Newsroom. Your final 5 seasons will forever be missed!
How does this comment have so many likes when it's blatantly wrong? Every single conversation has a pre-determined endpoint; he just thinks of the most creative way to reach it. Every single argument has a winner. His screenplays have some of the biggest burns in film and TV. Grow up in a big city and you realize that everyone is the stupidest and smartest person in the world. You're guilty about liking one of the best writers in the world because you don't realize that he's one of the best writers in the world. Congratulations.
@@kanishk7267 it wasn't better; it was a different show, and just as good in its own way. It should have been given another season to find its footing.
The funniest part of about this is not the sketch itself which is great. It's that Sorkin sees all these sketches, parodies of him, appreciates them ( The Sorkinism video) and continues to do the same style of writing without even trying to write in a different way😂.
I like this show, it's edgier than the others, with the possible exception of Colbert, and his guests are more interesting, he has writers on, novelists, instead of just show-biz types.
Uh-huh? So Mr Meyers never has non-“show-biz types” on his baby, unlike CBS®' ongoing "The Late Show®" iteration? Odd that! Regardless, *suffer through this trivia:* That makes sense.. Because Mr Colbert's CBS® gig used to air in my country till a year or two ago. Mr Meyers' never has! The neo-TWDC® owned "network" in my country-of-residence used to air the former's, but they stopped not-too-long after he found his _calling_ in mocking the then-sister concern FOX® News' darling, "President Dotard".( In fairness, they did try to promote it, though - by including one or two of the early responses to the President's Twitter® taunts as trailers.) 'Coincidentally', around the same time when the said "network" decided to "cancel" "picking-up" more seasons of ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert®’, the now-"Home of (SHO)WTIME®" rival, which is essentially part of the 'Indian FOX®-News Corp® type' multinational empire - "picked-up" ongoing "The Late Late Show®" iteration over-the-air after amazon®'s waning interest for "renewing" SVOD rights.
why does Aaron Sorkin sound so much like CJ is it only because Sorkin loves his own cadence so goddamn much and CJ happened to encapsulate it so well or is there something more going on
He missed the part where someone mentions some obscure acronym like ATVA and proceeds to explain that it stands from the American Trauma Victims Association and then the other character says "I know what ATVA is."
This is how it went in the writing room: Seth: We need to do that bit where co-workers secretly in love argue as a way of flirting. Michelle: I'LL DO IT!
Just watched Being the Ricardos and every Sorkin trope is in there. Michelle's entrance at 2:50 is a classic example. Nicole Kidman is brilliant in the film, by the way, but the overall effect of Sorkinism is soul numbing.
"To what do I owe this brilliant deconstruction of the Gregorian calendar?" is such a believably Sorkinese line I screamed
i replayed that line so many times
That is a Toby line :)
I read this line in Toby's voice
Could also be a Sam Seaborn or a Josh Lyman line.
Absolutely Toby!

paprikadelmar is this your throw away account Seth?
This show is so underrated. Seth Meyers is very underrated.
IMR this comment was so underrated.
Verily, verily!
I like Seth Meyers. He is good.
The Movie Trailer bits prove he's ready for an actual movie role.

I don't feel guilty man

Not really. It's kinda obvious that everyone in the sketch thinks they're right about their opinion.
@@30secondstomarsMBH Good point.
""30 Rock already did it... I laugh every time I see it, and I've seen it a lot."
Me too, Aaron Sorkin. Me too.
He was specifically referencing THAT episode, are you sure you concur with STRICTLY that?
"Mr Lachey, huge fan!"
We don't need two metaphors Liz, that's bad writing.
Studio 60 was better. Also: It would have done great on HBO.
@@kanishk7267 it wasn't better; it was a different show, and just as good in its own way. It should have been given another season to find its footing.
Brilliant. Seth really nailed the Josh impression.
I was looking for this comment
Did any one else notice Seth's pitch-perfect recreation of Bradley Whitford's abbreviated "No"? 0:22
No.
And the "ok" like 10 seconds later.
I did
and it was beautiful time-stamped by the way
And the way he explained the reason is similar to how Josh Lyman explained something to Donna while walking
I was waiting for him to yell "Donna!"
Sorkin Airline where airplane only has west wing... goolldd
This was so unbelievably Sorkin that I almost thought I was watching a Sam and Toby scene! Amazing job by the writers.
This skit causes me to miss "The Newsroom" so badly. I love that show!

this was genius. actually good content.
Best Seth skit!!!!! Aaron Sorkin you are a hero of mine.
You too, Seth!!!
I've watched this video too many times to count and I'm just now realizing that Seth is impersonating Bradley Whitford at 0:22 and 1:08
And at 0:59 I can just hear Toby (Richard Schiff).
This is SUCH a good piece and I don’t understand why it doesn’t have more views. The best.
This was awesome, pretty cool that they put The Newsroom up on the TV at 0:48. The little details yo.
Seth does a hell of a Josh Lyman!
*Looks into the camera*
"This is the Sorkin sketch!"
Directed by M. Night Shyamalan
Keep this up. This kind of stuff is your bread and butter. You can produce smart sketch packages like no other. Look forward to more!
NAILED. IT.
axelle32
Aaron Sorkin truly is the most brilliant devine gift to producing & directing .
I didn't even realize how much I quote "I laugh every time I see it and I've seen it a lot" until watching this again
Is Lutz with Seth Meyers now? Never knew that! Brings back 30 Rock memories just seeing him, hope he contributes a lot to the show
He's a writer on the show, actually.
LEAVE HIM ALONE!
Oh my, this is such a classic Sorkin walking shots, love it!
Nailed it. Absolutely nailed it! You guys are starting to find your voice and style and it's really good.
I like this show, it's edgier than the others, with the possible exception of Colbert, and his guests are more interesting, he has writers on, novelists, instead of just show-biz types.

After 9 months Seth Meyers provides with an awesome sketch. I watched the show 9 months looking for this kinda comedy. Keep it up Seth Meyers.
The thing is Aaron Sorkin is genuinely a good actor!
Bradley's "ok"...nailed it.
This is delightful. Request for more sketches please.
why does Aaron Sorkin sound so much like CJ
is it only because Sorkin loves his own cadence so goddamn much and CJ happened to encapsulate it so well or is there something more going on
Seth is totally brilliant
"The Newsroom" on the office TV. Nice touch.
This needs more views.
Kudos to the 30 Rock reference at 3:33 or so. I live life the same way as Sorkin does now ^_^
Very nice!!!!
this is one of the most brilliant things ever
Oh! My Lord!! Seth is wow!!!
sorkin is a god, the social network is one of my favourite movies
Aaron’s TV work is superior!!! Sports Night, West Wing, & The Newsroom. Films: A Few Good Men, Molly’s Game, Being The Ricardos!!!
Seth is ............ YUMMMMMMMMMM😄😄😍😍
In retrospect, we should've known Seth was at Impressions Camp from his impression of Bradley Whitford here.
He missed the part where someone mentions some obscure acronym like ATVA and proceeds to explain that it stands from the American Trauma Victims Association and then the other character says "I know what ATVA is."
Don't talk to me like I'm other people, I'm not other people.
My favorite Seth Meyers skit!!!
This is the first thing I've seen of Seth Meyers' show that I laughed at.
This is how it went in the writing room:
Seth: We need to do that bit where co-workers secretly in love argue as a way of flirting.
Michelle: I'LL DO IT!
I loved that part, it was so Mac & Will
Seth Meyers would make a great Josh in a West Wing reboot.
So much fun fusing two faves: Seth & West Wing/Sorkin
Where is the west wing on mushrooms sketch it sounds hilarious
RIGHT?? IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT EVERYWHERE
NAILED it.
Seth Meyers is a Sports Night fan and I AM LOVING IT.
This is awesome. I like the shape the show is taking. Keep it up! (Kudos from Colombia)
Just watched Being the Ricardos and every Sorkin trope is in there. Michelle's entrance at 2:50 is a classic example.
Nicole Kidman is brilliant in the film, by the way, but the overall effect of Sorkinism is soul numbing.
Love the Amy Schumer shout-out (she did totally nail it) but couldn't get past Lutz and that one dude who looks like someone blurred Paul Rudd.
“blurred Paul Rudd”: Look at it, a-gain! 🤣🤣🤣
Sure you aren't suffering from "Vintage SNL®"-withdrawal? 😏
Everybody shut up! Shut up, Lutz!
Damn, you called it before Lizzo. Well done!
I have absolutely watched this so many times and it never gets old.
this is so perfect
I'm a couple episodes from finishing The Newsroom and this is spot fucking on.
Someone oughta track down that West Wing on Mushrooms sketch from SNL. I remember that being pretty hysterical.
This feels like a short Community episode.
3:35
Fav bit, light goes out. 2nd fav, later, light is back on = continuity problem.
Maybe the person across the way just turned off their room light briefly to check out a spinthariscope.
Seth is walking in the swagger style in this video! Did he do it intentionally lol?
Never seen any of his work,
yet I've seen these kinds of scenes many places...
One reason I stopped watching films.
This was amazingly well done!
“Homeless.” Diiiied
I laugh every time I've seen this sketch, and I've seen it alot.
Best ever.
“How’s it going so far?” is a Sorkinism that’s gone unnoticed in the comments here.
3:36 Aaron Sorkin channels Sam Seaborne
BRILLIANT
Perfect.
I love how this came out a year before Steve Jobs yet feels exactly like that film
I love walk and talk scenes
This is astronomically meta
Edit: I loved it
Don't know how I got here but I am so glad I got here :)
Brilliant!
So funny I nearly smiled
Ooooooooo, I found these new “sketches”! You should do these again!
Love this series👍👍👍👍👍
This was well done. Bravo!
Seth does a great Josh. 0:23 & 01:23, classic.
I love it - metaspoof!
So funny!!! Good job on the Sorkin parody guys! ;)
I miss The Newsroom. So much.
BELGIUUMM
THIS IS SO DAMN FUNNY
Brilliant
Sorkin appears as though it's Val Kilmer playing Aaron Sorkin.
Oh hey! It's Paul Rudd @1:30
Shout out Lizzo and Kevin Hart!
This comment is why I'm a jackal.
Excellent!
Let Sorkin be Sorkin.
this is genius.
Maybe next time, do a sketch where everyone confuses Sorkin with Christopher Nolan, or vice versa.
I’ll come back to this if Sorkin wins an oscar for Chicago 7.
Pay the writers, bring back the show!
Jesus Christ I love sorkin
They definitely picked Michelle Wolfe for the right role lol. I love her
brilliant
Seth gives me real good Sam Seaborn vibes. Could've used him after Rob left.
0:47..Isn't that The newsroom on the wall television?
This is more canon than studio 60
Lets remember Sorkin did a SNL parody in 2006.
MadTv did one when TWW first came out
interstellar soundtrack is very effective
fucking genius!!
Lutz!
