Don't worry! Your vids are good! You show a real life outside big megapolices and this life is wonderful, with its own pleasures, funs, good and friendly people, beautiful nature and walks through small ancient town with many hidden interesting places to see... And... If everyone outside Moscow and Petersburg are poor, why so many good cars and so many big houses? I think some people and UA-cam don't like your vids not because you show something bad, but on the contrary because you show normal life there and they want you to show everything bad...

My friend, I am Russian and I can say that you really shoot Russia the way it is, the way we, ordinary Russians, see it every day. I like these videos more than other videos in which they shoot either how cool everything is in Russia or how bad everything is, but few people want to show how it really is. Good luck to you and your channel!
The city of Vladimir was the capital of Kievan Rus beginning in 1169, until the city of Moscow became the capital. Beginning in 1169, Kyiv fell into decay and was on the margins of history. In fact, the city of Vladimir was the capital for most of the history of the state, which in the West is called "Kievan Rus". The term "Kievan Rus" was coined in the 19th century by a Russian historian to refer to that historical period of time. This term did not bother anyone until the end of the 20th century, when, after the collapse of the USSR, Ukrainian nationalists and Western propaganda began to use it for their own purposes. For example, the "Ukrainian Front" during the Second World War had nothing to do with Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens. But Western propaganda tried to interpret this name as the fact that it was the Ukrainians who liberated Auschwitz, etc. Now in Russia they prefer to call this historical period as the "Old Russian kingdom."
I 'll make some adjustments.😊 Kievan Rus' is a term coined by historian Sergey Mihailovich Solovyov in his book "The History of Russia from Ancient Times", of which he is the author and the first three volumes were published in 1851-1853. Before that, in all sources, our ancient state was simply called Rus. Many cities were the capital of Ancient Russia - Ladoga: from 862 to 864, Novgorod: from 862 to 882, Kiev: from 882 to 1243, Vladimir: from 1243 to 1389, Moscow: from 1389 to 1712, Saint Petersburg: from 1712 to 1918, Moscow: from 1918 to the present.
The West loves to change history to fit its own lies. In the US here, the Luciferian government, the deep state, is busy with its own army, the antifa and BLM crowd. They are out destroying historical monuments and the pencil pushers are rewriting the US history.
Sam, I must say that the reason I like to watch your videos, other than your easygoing personality, is that you show middle to upper class Russian life. Most of the other people making videos like to show the extremes, either the super poor or the super rich. Also you aren't trying to show any kind of scripted situations, you are literally just showing your everyday life as it comes which is refreshing and interesting to watch!
Thank you! That is what I try to do. Just show it as it is and also to allow people to see the Russian people. Did you watch the series called Tramazone? It's really fascinating. The link to the playlist is in my description.
Hi Sam, I just stumbled across your channel, but will now be watching your back catalog. I'm American and have been here in Russia since 2001. I like the way that you present the way things are in a smaller Russian city/town. It's also the way I live here. I also like the fact that you live in a house, as I do also. Seems all other foreigners living in Russia make it seem that if you move here you will live in a one-room flat. I mean, it's ok if you do, but it's not the only option. Russia can be a great place to work hard and smart and become successful. You know, you seem to think that your numbers are not good, but they are good and you have a ton of involvement with so many comments, so I congratulate you and look forward to watching more of your videos.
Hi mate. These last two videos have done well because I asked people to like and subscribe to my channel. I think this has pushed my videos into the algorithm. Give it a try. What town do you live in? Yes, most people go to Moscow and live in one room flats and they don't really make Russian friends.
@@SamsRussianAdventures Well, it's refreshing to see an Expat here who thinks more like I do about the country and people. Sam, I lived in Chelyabinsk for about 17 years, retired, then had a place built in Tambov. Not as harsh here and also much more ecologically pleasant compared with Chelyabinsk.
tell your Russian friends they'd probably be shocked by the horrific poverty and amounts of homeless people in the USA Canada .. there are no golden floors here except for in the western oligarchs mansions
I’ve tried telling them. In fact they bring the topic up all the time. They are very proud, especially those who lived in the Soviet Union. They don’t want people to see anything decaying that was built during the Soviet times.
They won't believe it. There is a certain percentage of society in Russia who sincerely believe that people in the West can afford to "buy a new car" on literally one month's salary
bro .. most of canada looks like this in the winter .. smaller municipalities struggle sometimes with snow clearance, pretty normal when you're born into it
Call me crazy but I like when it is cold and dark, perfect weather. Why? No people) I remember myself - 8 in the evening, coming home from an art school after a snow fall, pitch black darkness, 10 inches of half wet half frozen snow mixed by car wheels, literally zero people outside, you walk and listen to the sound of ice getting crushed under your feet in complete silence. Absolute peace, a dream of an introvert. In moments like this you could exist outside of any context, like some sort of an astronaut in space. Once I was coming late from school after some events and my way was as usual along the industrial rail track. I just went off the track, dropped on the ground and looked at stars for half an hour. I have never felt so close to the cosmos as that day, something just made me think I could touch stars. You just don`t need drugs to feel high in this country.
Wow! It’s amazing the things you can do and feel when you take the time to appreciate the little things and notice the beauty all around us. You should be a writer! Not many people have the ability to describe situations like this.

And... If everyone outside Moscow and Petersburg are poor, why so many good cars and so many big houses?
I think some people and UA-cam don't like your vids not because you show something bad, but on the contrary because you show normal life there and they want you to show everything bad...

You are right. It’s like an uphill battle. Thank you so much for your view and your comment.

My friend, I am Russian and I can say that you really shoot Russia the way it is, the way we, ordinary Russians, see it every day.
It’s crazy how things get twisted to portray what the media wants. Thanks for the information.
So all Russians are Ukrainians or all Ukrainians are Russians? Or they are the same nation and somebody tries to make them enemies?
It was not Kyiv but Belgorod. This is the same story as Serbians saying Kosovo is heart of Serbia, etc.

The snowfall has been huge over the last few days. Even Moscow has been struggling with it.
Call me crazy but I like when it is cold and dark, perfect weather. Why? No people)
I remember myself - 8 in the evening, coming home from an art school after a snow fall, pitch black darkness, 10 inches of half wet half frozen snow mixed by car wheels, literally zero people outside, you walk and listen to the sound of ice getting crushed under your feet in complete silence.

So it was really frustrating I got out of the car and it was very very cold and I couldn’t put my car keys and phone in my pocket so I would need to 1st of all take off my Santa Claus costume just to put my keys and phone in my pocket. And then I would have my camera and my Santa Claus bag with the gifts inside it and then I wouldn’t be able to find the house that I was delivering the presents to. So I would need to get to my phone to call the house owner but of course I couldn’t get to my phone because of the Santa Claus costume blocking access to my pocket. It was cold and very frustrating! I was wearing the Santa Claus gloves too and it was just really really annoying mate. When I was finally found the house perhaps the owner would begin calling me and I couldn’t get to my phone to answer it!!!! It was freezing cold and it was just very very frustrating at the same time I was trying to hold the camera and hold the bag been with the gifts and somehow find a house!!!I couldn’t wear my coat because it was a too big to wear underneath the costume.
But I tried it once so I can see that I did it!!!
Haha…”In for a penny, in for a pound.”
The ladies loved it tho

There is a unwritten code in Russia about helping others in the snow. Strangers have gone to great lengths to help me, sometimes for hours!!!
@@SamsRussianAdventures We have the same in the Midwest. I'm Eastern Washington. Family are farmers and black Angus cattle ranchers. We always help others. But it's slowly going away here in the US to help others. I am glad you and others in Russia have this rule.

Stumbled upon your channel on my recommended, probably cuz I've watched some of Russell's videos.
I like to see the ordinary and "boring" stuff, just the everyday life. You said there's nothing happening in a small town like the one you're in and I felt so attacked, living in a small place with a population of under 50,000 myself :'D Well to be honest we have nothing going on over here either so..
Btw I'm from Finland and I've been dreaming of visiting Russia someday. We are neighbours after all.
The snow situation looks very familiar. I'm a bad finn and quite dislike it, as well as skiing, skating and all that (am so bad at winter sports). Sometimes all the snow clearing I've got to do at home almost makes me cry. Would totally hibernate all winter if it was possible!
Subscribed! 👌
Hi mate! I'm a fan of Russell. Our town is bigger but because I have lived here for so long and I have filmed almost everything I can think of, 250+ videos, that's why I really struggle for new ideas. I'm going to start travelling more. Also, most things are completely normal to me, so I don't know what is different. I don't want to to the shops thing because Russell is good at that. I think that I have the possibility to get out and speak to people and to show Russia to the world, but it's also difficult because if I show that Russia is too nice, then youtube won't show my content to people. That is how it works. Happy New Year! I hope you make it to Russia soon!
@@SamsRussianAdventures Yeah I noticed you've got lots of videos for me to start watching 😁 I don't think you have to shy away from doing shop videos every now and then if you want to. If there was only one creator for one type of content there would only be a handful of you right. Doing a mix of different types of videos is interesting, imo.
I'm sorry you feel like you've got to show negative things about Russia in order to gain views. Personally I see and hear so much awful things already so your content is a very nice change to that.
Happy New Year to you as well!

Hello! I from Krasnoyarsk. After sanctions my life didn't changed. Yes, the same here in Vladimir. The prices in the shops are a little higher and the VPN is needed. I only used the word sanctions in my videos because it is a popular search term on youtube.

Sam, thanks for this video, you're awesome! I smiled and sometimes laughed so much) When you told about the service in banks I remembered how my ex-student working at Sber once worked in the middle of a real hell: there was a queue of retired people panicking because one of the cash machines where they paid utility bills suddenly broke.😄 Usually everybody tries and successfully pays online, but not the elderly. One woman was shouting that she'd call the police because she decided that the breakage was made by the bank to steal her pension,😂 and one man's dog was barking at everybody.🤣 At the same time there were some businessmen discussing loans for their business, and some people were consulted about education loans, and all bank employees controlled themselves perfectly. I was going to leave that nuthouse when I noticed my ex-student. She was working with her clients who were taking a mortgage. And she was absolutely calm, just as if nothing was happening! This is what I call professionalism. Very proud of all bank employees in Russia!
Yes! If it was England, those bank employees would go crazy! But in Russia it’s not even a thing! I guess the babushka remembers the years of hyperinflation and defaults!
@@SamsRussianAdventures yes, working with people is stressful in a bank, but in an outpatient clinic it's much worse))) The most stress-resistant people work in поликлиника ))))
Well, we all remember those dark times. In that case she just wanted the modern bank to work the same way she worked as a cashier when she was young.

Yes there is but the problem is that migrant workers fill most of the jobs. If you have a good reputation then you can build a business but it’s usually one guy in charge of a few migrant workers.

In Russia, the state regulates raw materials companies on which national security depends. The oligarchs who own these companies are controlled by the authorities. Otherwise, there is a free market for business in Russia. Quite often, new, huge services and companies appear in Russia, as an example of Wildberries, which was created by a woman and now this service is an integral part of the life of every Russian family.
There are always good opportunities for business in Russia and most often these are services which are modelled from successful services abroad.
Has SHELL still not escaped in the Vladimir region? In Lipetsk, at the beginning of the summer, this company disappeared, freeing up a place for a domestic company.
I guess not. I didn’t even think about it. I wonder if the are leaving Russia.
@@SamsRussianAdventures In the summer, Shell officially announced that it had left the Russian market. It seems that they have not completely left or do not know that the Vladimir region is located in Russia. We know that they have a bad knowledge of geography.
