Lovely msg, we have to respect each others opinions on such matters. In terms of lack of hijab/niqab specifically, I think this quote by Mufti Menk covers it beautifully:
“When you see a female dressed in a manner that is unacceptable islamically, do not for a moment think that she is lower than you spiritually. If you do that, you are lower than her. Believe me, that is the teaching of your religion. She might have a link with her creator that you do not know about. She might have a heart that is tons better than yours. She might have one weakness that is outward, and you have 50 weaknesses that are hidden."

Yaa right. I agree with you sister. My mother also don't take hijab. And unfortunately religious ones judge her that she is not Muslim. She is Muslim by name. She is not religious bla, bla. She simply don't like it. Because she beliefs in Allah. So we should stop judging someone by outer appearance

Exactly, I believe that hijab is optional, I'm 16 and I do not intend on wearing it any time soon, I just dont feel the need to show people how religious I am by wearing it, because the relationship people have with god doesn't limit to a veil or an abaya, its deeper than that. I obviously respect all kind of hijabi and niqabis and I even think that those women are hella brave to basically give up on so many things for the sake of pleasing God buti really wish people would stop judging females who dont wear hijab, stop shaming them and stop constantly asking the to wear it, and stop trying to "advice" them by saying "if you dont wear it, you won't enter Janna". If a woman would wear hijab she'll do it for herself and her god not to please humans and males.

I'm so happy for you ❤ I'm muslim but not hijabi and I believe covering the hair is actually a cultural thing, because even the men covered their hair and face so that the sand did not get into their eyes. In holy quran I never found in it written women should cover their hair it just speaks about dressing modesty, but there are different opinions like even nuns and religious jewish women cover their hair so hijab existed even before islam

I follow the opinion that the veil is *optional* but when you "choose" to wear it, you are bound by the same rules of hijab. Like you can't just make up your own rules how to cover when you feel like it. You either do it or you don't. Which is why I wear the 3 layer niqab that also covers the eyes.
But I respect any woman with the courage to cover herself. At any level. Because its too easy now a days to just walk around like anyone else, but its hard to wear your religion as a flag of honor when so many people are willing to put your life at risk just for being a part of that religion

The first layer with the eye slit is closest to the face and is like other niqabs seen on these videos.
The second layer is the middle and covers the eyes but can be flipped back to also show the eyes but not the face.
The third layer usually just flips over the back.
Usually they are tiebacks but do come in velcro and other fastening types as well.

@@sidoniejordan-olsen7673 yes, the first llayer is the eye holes closest to face. Second layer is to cover the eyes, but can bee lifted if you are doing something like grocery shopping and you need to lift to readd or something like that. The third layer goes over the head, a d its to secure the niqab in place over your pony tail so that it can't be pulled off (well, not without an awful lot of force!) I have never seen them in velcro or snaps like the previous comment said, but it wohldn't surprise me if those were also available. Its just a safety precaution for me, because I am living in a nonMuslim majority country and have unfortunately have had people try to remove my head dress before.
I wear my niqab under my jilbab, which is annoutter layer of clothing and I tie my jilbab to the inside, under my ponytail, for the exact same reason. So, if someone wanted to remove any of my coverings they would really have to be strong and fight me for it.

Sister there is no contradiction in Islam.. Some people said its mandatory of covering your face because the wives of prophet SAW and the women who lived at His time were covering their faces too but the majority of scholars said its not compulsory because there are some situations a woman can not cover her face and Islam is practical and not complicated for example if you live in a non Muslim country and you are afraid of your life because some ignorants who are against Islam, you can remove your niqab and stay only with hijab and in severe cases you can also remove hijab.. Allah SWT said " So fear Allah as much as you are able" Quran 64:16.. We as Muslims should adhere to religion as much as we can.. I'm niqabi but my mother and sisters are not..

In fact even if some want to say it’s not compulsory, we can all appreciate the fact that it’s a step closer to Allah. And shows amazing strength and piety in worshiping Allah. In the end none of us are wearing hijab or niqab for fun, we make that decision as a way of obeying Allah ( one God) and it’s not an obedience to men or society or what not. Most are doing it out of their wish to worship Allah and follow his commands.

Why do men and women have different hairstyles in almost every culture on the planet?

Men are told to lower their gaze. They are not supposed to look at the opposite sex. Reguardless of how a woman dresses, its a "man's responsibility" NOT to look at her unless she is his wife. So, ask men why theynare not respecting women and themselves instead of acting like women are somehow oppressed 🥰
Also, men are NOT ALLOWED to impersonate women because if they did it would make the "bad" men able to get into places that are specifically for women and put women at risk.

Exactly. For many things like this there is no one right way. There are different interpretations and everyone has to decide which seems the most accurate to them, because there is no way to know. So many religious people don't get that or maybe they know deep down, but like to feel superior.
You have a healthy approach to it all. Simply respecting others and don't forcing your believes on them (which usually doesn't work anyway). Instead you educate us which is always a good thing.😊

I live in the states and I never thought that American Muslim women who wore hijab or niqab were being forced.
I always - even before I knew anything about Islam - other than it was a religion - just thought they wore it because it was their choice (I actually thought culture played a big role in it for a long time).
I did and do still believe that Muslim woman in other countries are forced to wear hijab - because they are. Probably many of them would choose to do so regardless but many would choose not to as well.
I would love to get to a place where Islam is truly a religion that can not be forced upon someone - wheee there is no compulsion. But we aren’t there yet.
Too many women are living under rules and laws that force them to comply to a governments interpretation of Islam.
