There are 2 different tubes you can get, the R6, then the R6S. The R6S is WAY cheaper and is only slightly better than the stock 07 tube.
I got the R6S tube direct from Yamaha as it was about a quarter of the price of the R6 tube and to be honest, made the WORLD of difference!

Is the r6s tube "worse" than the R6 throttle tube??
@@125conman the r6s is about 4mm larger than the stock tube, but the real r6 is about 8mm larger. Larger = less rotation.
So does the swap do?
@@imnotimpressedbyourperform2460 Basically gives you less turn of the throttle. Factory is over half a turn from closed to fully open. These 2 options change it to between a fifth and a quarter turn... Must better throttle response at the end of the day...

It means the WORLD to me dude, I can't believe the awesome people that watch my stupid face, it's freaking amazing! And don't worry about being stock, I had no mods for the longest time and I sometimes miss having a hooligan bike that sounded like a sewing machine, it was easier to act like an idiot back then. Now, everyone within a square mile knows exactly what I'm doing.

Hey man, What fan temp do you have set ( I have the FTECU Flashkit) ? Trying to get mine to come on sooner stay on longer. Any help would be great. Thx Bro
It's been forever but I am almost positive it's set to come on at 190F, I couldn't tell you about the high setting. I'm never in stop-and-go traffic though so I probably heard my fan come on 10 times over a couple years

Color me stupid, but how does a throttle tube keep such a simar closed to WOT distance/angle, but make such a huge partial throttle difference? Why isn't it a linear difference?
Hi-viz, good work. Only suggestion I can think of is to put time links in description for new viewers that just want the info. Dont worry, theyll soon fall in love with you like the rest of us did and be captivated by your garbage, I mean charm.
I actually thought about doing the time stamp thing, I was inspired by That Pedal Show but their videos are an hour long so they really need them. I'll try it in the future for sure. As far as the throttle goes, I truly have no idea I'm as lost as you are. I guess there is some kind of engineering that goes into the shape of the curve on the cable part if the tube where it's not linear and can be moved for different progressions.
The distance is not the same. It is similar. Stock tube turns about 90 degrees from closed to WOT. The R6 throttle turns about 75-80 degrees. It doesn't seem like a huge difference on paper, but it actually is a makes huge difference in how the bike behaves.
Ordered the same tube, but when I install it, and reattach the black houses, the throttle won't move. It seems like it is stuck, locked or sticking. Damn it.

After tubes swap, you have to adjust your throttle cable. Too tight, then your throttle won't move.
What year model R6 throttle tube will work on the 2022 mt07? Anyone know?

Hey buddy. To remove grips I always just spray some brake cleaner down there and twist them like hell. Usually come off easily. How does the R6 throttle tube feel? Is full throttle easier on the wrist?

I've never actually thought about using a solvent to get the glue to come loose, that's a fantastic idea for someone wanting to reuse the grips. After a couple rides it's easy to get used to it's just a mind trip if you think about it while riding. It's so weird that it travels the same distance but is obviously opening the throttle more and faster in the beginning of the travel compared to the stock one.
Brake cleaner? Wouldnt that mess up the grips? WD-40 could work
Is the fz07 oem throttle tube the same as the mt10, would this mod work on the mt10 without any extra parts do you think

I just got my R6 throttle tube in the mail. I'm excited for the easier blipping. Any new opinion on it after 2 weeks of having it? Have you found slow speeds in traffic manageable or is it more touchy now?
It's easy to get used to, if you don't think about it you won't notice it usually. It is a little touchy in traffic but I'm sure that'll smooth out as i get more seat time
So... I'm not super sure if this is something I should do. I have a new xsr700 and the throttle is pretty snatchy. Did this smooth that out or is this just something that gives you a smaller dead zone?
It would make the problem worse I would wager, although I'm just speculating. Sounds like a tune might be more what you need, again just a guess

This is definitely on the to-do list! I just got my Yoshi exhaust finally, more than two weeks after it was supposed to be ordered (long story).... And turns out the headers are too close together and won't line up properly 🙃 so I'm kinda pissed now because I'll have to see if Yoshi is gonna dick me around with exchanging the headers, wait for new headers hopefully, and I also realized the mounting bracket for the can has been designed by Satan's finest engineer to bring more hate into this world. Oh well, DNA filter should be here tomorrow, and I'm sending the ecu off to vcyclenut to be flashed... Then I can get into all the fun stuff lol performance comes first! Gotta say, 2nd gear clutch ups at 20mph are delightful. I like not having to go fast to wheelie lol
You're braver than I am dude, I have fallen off the wagon so bad on my stupid little power wheelies. Hope this whole exhaust situation get's resolved easily, I've never heard of any problems with Yoshi and I really wanted one in the beginning
@@HiVizSmiley power wheelies are sketchy in my opinion lol clutch ups are easier and safer. Go 20mph and give it a little throttle and pop the clutch, start small and work up. Don't chase it out too much, getting used to the wheel coming up is key

Think it's gonna mess with you when you're stuck in slow highway traffic at all? I've been debating doing this for a while, and getting pretty close to nutting up on the DNA air filter. Figured I'd knock both things out at once when I do it.
It is different for sure but I don't think you'd have any problems getting used to it. The air filter is awesome, I enjoyed getting the fairings off and putting that togethsr

Never say never, but I don't ever see myself on an Fz-09. There's really no reason to give up the glorious 7 for IMO a worse bike for my needs
What is the advantage when fitting the R6 throttle tube. I'm just new to all these mods.
Think the f07 has a longer twist than the r6 so your wrist doesn't bend as much.

@@markwendell1328 these mirrors have been good so far and don't vibrate any that I can tell. Don't buy anything cheaper than these though, the dirt cheap ones are trash
I owned Yamahas Supermoto XT660X and unfortunately I've sold it because, I got pretty fed up with big one cylinders, vibrations ,jerkyness. So I'm thinking about getting into MT07 maybe next year. Do you feel like you lack power on this bike? would you recommend getting 09 rather ?
If you think the XT is jerky, then you will be disappointed. The MT-07 is jerky too. Very jerky. For the 07 or 09, the 09 is less jerky. Powerwise the 07 is enough but not for all riders. It's an entry level bike with meh suspension. If you can live with that, the MT-07 is awesome. I have one and I like it but I'm not a pro rider either.
Will the throttle tube fit on pro taper 7/8 bar?
I don't see any reason why not
