It’s a good piece of glass dude. I use the 10x25 for checking out the trail ahead or looking into valleys for places to pitch my tent. very good point. what did you do with your in the last 9 months? you have to play with the eye relief, extend it right out. do you wear glasses? you'll have to take them off. even with full extension on eye relief it mat not be enough to get the focus point! I wanted something compact and light to 'ease up" to my eye with one hand. As you said, the problem is you have to use two hands to use the focus ring. The ring is tight and hard to turn as well as the location is not good. I understand you do not want it too loose but it is a bit much. Kinda defeats the purpose of being able to use it with one hand. My compact Nikon "Trail Blazer" binoculars allow you to hold and focus with one hand due to the location and ease of turning the focus wheel. The eye relief/view is much quicker as well. The Trail Blazer also folds in and is very compact. It weighs twice as much as the Solo but still fits into the chest pocket of my shirt.
