A few coworkers have the Elantra. Bummed a ride out for lunch, and I was impressed with it's quiet, peppy acceleration and cruising.

In a world of CVTs, the Elantra N line stands out. But the Mazda3 is the better car. Great review pointing out many of the common recalls and issues.

N and N line models are not CVTs neither is the hybrid the more you know Dual Clutch baby

Helped my niece buy the Elantra's Kia cousin, a 2023 Forte. It has a slightly more premium feel and MSRP is within $500. She loves the car.

I agree the Forte GT has better features, etc. vs. price, but completely different chassis tuning.

I've got one of these and it has been very good, if not quite boring. The fuel economy is incredibly good - I'm not sure you need the hybrid.

Agreed, I want to reserve judgement until I drive the hybrid but I was astonished with how easy it was to hold over 40 mpg through the week.

Yea after owning a 2022 SEL in my area i get 40 mpg around town and 53 mpg on the hwy at 75 mph. The car has been incredible. I honestly feel you do not need the extra parts on the hybrid.

Definitely an economy car for these hard times.

I have been driving the 2023 hybrid blue for a year and a half. You need the hybrid. I drive 50 miles around town running errands for two hours yesterday and was on my electric motor 90% of the time, averaging 62mpg.

The Elantra is a beautiful car with a modern design. I own it in 2021. It is suitable for young people, university students, and perhaps a new employee. Its price is reasonable and it can last a long time, especially the 2.0 engine and a 6-speed transmission. I preferred it over the Corolla, as it has a 3-cylinder engine and a CVT transmission in my country, but in the end it is not a luxury car. The interior is plastic, but for the price In exchange for the quality and specifications, I consider it a good deal. I owned a 2010 Accent before that and it lasted for 10 years and covered 250,000 km. It was good with few faults.

2:21 That "fancy circle" houses a biometric engine start and security system available in other markets outside North America. It is not useless.. the USDM trim is just missing features.

$28k for the Elantra. My dad got facelifted E90 BMW 318d in late 2010 for 29k Euros. New. Custom order. European M-Package with leather seats other cosmetic extras. Sure, it has a 4-cylinder 141hp, but turbocharged and good torque. Boy times have changed.

I like the design of the Elantra. I think it’s a great commuter car.

Those recall issues are because of failing US quality standards in manufacturing. In Australia, ours come from South Korea and the only recall was for a software update in the 8sp DCT. The same with US-built engines, it seems the US just can't build reliable cars, never have and probably....never will. The US uses IVTs or CVTs, whereas the rest of the world uses a 6-speed sports sequential automatic with torque converter. Robust reliable and much quicker off the mark.

I had no choice but to buy a car in October 2022. Other than the headlights and uncomfortable seats I am very pleasantly surprised with my 2023 SEL with convenience package at this time. I also enjoy driving and always have, and I find it a "fun to drive" car. As far as seat comfort I am a thin average height female. I use apple car play and have instant great response, maybe being wired has advantages.

I have the same car as you and I hated the lights so much that I changed the headlights to LEDs for less than a hundred bucks. You should look into it.

Automatic Civic Si does exist. The Integra... But it uses a CVT despite them having a dual clutch auto that they used in the ILX available.

Well I got one with 9k miles on it and at 14k the engine blew up. Their customer service is absolutely horrific. Talked to my case advisor yesterday and he literally yelled at me and said I can talk when he's done. Beware!!!!!! Car is great except the garbage engine.

Ok it´s a cheap Car but a little bit less hard plastic inside it would have been nice, hopefully the facelifted one where comes this or next year will be a little bit nicer inside, the Design for the 2024 Modell is well done I think. Thanks 😀

The refresh has big potential. Better tech, better fit and finish would make it punch well above its weight.

As someone with the car that’s pretty accurate. The places you touch regularly are pretty nice but anything else is cheep hard plastic. For the money though, it’s great!
