Mate, this is excellent! Really good music, it sounds like its from the films! And great narration, too. You should get in touch with Phil Dragash, maybe we can get a version of that audiobook which isn't as prone to copyright-strikes out of it :D And yes, as great as the movies are the story is definitely missing something without this. That "easy ending" that Saruman is talking about denying them is just what they got in PJ's adaptation. Also, this chapter is such a satisfying way to show off the 4 hobbits' character development, particularly Merry and Pippin! Its almost a bit sad though, that Saruman did not live to see just how easily they actually managed to mend the damage he had caused... That implied cannibalism with Wormtail is dark af though... Almost a bit uncanny, how something like that took place in what is otherwise a relatively innocent and fairy tale-like part of the story. Like, the scouring of the shire doesn't actually kill that many hobbits, and the hobbits themselves still appear as, like, "cheery and rosy-cheeked little fellows" at the end. Then that just comes out of the blue. I like it though, really puts the last nail in the coffin for how malicious Saruman is.
So, here's the whole suite! Even if you've watched all the parts, there's a unique section at 15:55. Enjoy. As mentioned last time, the illustration at 10:19 was made by the incredible artist Henry H. Neff. You can find his work here: henryhneff.com/ facebook.com/henryhneff
