Dear Pastor Atkinson, Your sermon is absolutely right-on! I tuned to it today while suffering from some pain, not knowing anything about Jabez or the topic of your message. I have been taken by the Holy Spirit out of my comfort zone in the last decade into a place of the dimension of the Kingdom of God unlike anything I have ever heard of or experienced before in my Christian life. I have only one issue with your message and that is that the goal is not power or even spiritual power, but the goal of the prayer of God's blessings in our lives is to make us into the image of the Son's character and to receive the closeness that He had with the Father. There is no other goal outside of this, it is the ultimate goal. Power (spiritual) and influence may come as a result, but is not to be sought after. I have written recently on the Book of Job, considering his suffering and victory, and have applied it to the Western Church and I think you would find it interesting.
