I wish it was clear that Michael worked hard to make up for the past and when he discovered William’s secret he worked tirelessly to free the kids somehow and stop his dad. As a normal person and a purple zombie this was his goal until finally in FNAF 3 and FNAF 6 the kids souls were put to rest and his father was gone to so he felt at peace and knew that the fire in the Pizza Place would work on him too since he had animatronic parts infused with remnant that kept him alive unless severe burning was involved. If he moved on then how is in GR Freddy well it’s possible when he detected his father’s presence was still lurking in the world(AI Glitchtrap that’s within a newly rebuilt Springbonnie/Burntrap and within Vanny) then he knew his job wasn’t finished. He needed a new body so when GR Freddy was assigned to excavate the Pizza Place ruins he possessed GR Freddy to complete his goals. That’s my theory though
