@@imamexx they did not really break the game, there's a rule for this situation. 63.7 Awarded Goal.
"In the event the Goal Post is displaced, either “deliberately” or “accidentally”, by a defending Player, prior to the puck crossing the Goal Line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal.
In order to award a goal in this situation, the Goal Post must have been displaced by the actions of a defending Player, the attacking Player must have “an imminent scoring opportunity” prior to the Goal Post being displaced, and it must be determined that the puck would have entered the Goal between the normal position of the Goal Posts.
If the Goal Post is deliberately displaced by a Goalkeeper during the course of a “break-away,” a goal will be awarded to the non-offending Team.
When the Goal Post has been displaced deliberately by the defending Team when their Goalkeeper has been removed for an extra attacker thereby preventing an impending goal by the attacking Team, the Referee shall award a goal to the attacking Team. The goal frame is considered to be displaced if either or both goal pegs are no longer in their respective holes in the ice, or the net has come completely off one or both pegs, prior to or as the puck enters the goal."
in this situation the defender (Kazakh) pushed the attacker (Latvian) onto the goalie. It's a messy situation, but by the rules it was a goal.

I remember this match in 2014 in Minsk. Referees pushed Belarus to the playoffs. It's the host's advantage. Today referees helped Latvia to win.
It was the dirtiest game on that championship. I wish your team the same in future games!

Kazahks play great hockey, Just that the game against Slovakia took too much from them.. From all the opponents, I was thinking of kazahks to be somewhat the same strength as Latvian team. P.S the 3rd goal was questionable, if i would be a referee I would announce a penalty shootout, but 0:6 or 0:7 wouldnt make big difference at the end of the day. Kazakhstan is one tough enemy when properly prepared, we have seen it before!
Thats the rule that needs to be changed. Penalty shootout would be fitting. I think in Football its is like that.

Good effort on Kazahstan's side despite the heavy legs from yesterday. And I am really impressed with the fans demanding that legionaries are removed from national team, it's a big problem for national hockey in lower divisions, always great to see fans take a stand.

Very impressed by the continual improvement of the Latvian ice hockey program. As a Canadian, I have to admit they've been fun to watch
Ehhh...about that, most of our guys have lived in other hockey systems after 15/16 years of age, so... lots of work to be done.
I don't think we have improved very much at all. We have been finishing 7th -12th in the world for almost 30 years now. We have never got passed the quarter-finals or been relegated. I'd say we have been very predictable and average for almost 3 decades now.

I'm not taking away victory from us and happy or 3 points, but I think it is somewhat unfair that Kazakhstan had very tough game that went to overtime and ended midnight previous day while Latvia could rest considerably longer since their game the previous day started around 4PM.
I think game calendars should be adjusted in such way that both teams are always fully rested and face each other with 100 percent battery.
That would be ideal, but its also a logistical nightmare

It seemed weird to me that they got the penalty. I mean, the goal was made AFTER the supposed penalty so the player should have not been sent off. IMHO.
@@siikaiz A two-minute penalty was received for the fact that the Kazakhstan national team announced the so-called "Challenge" - they appealed to the fact that, when scoring a goal, the player of the Latvian national team prevented the goalkeeper of the Kazakhstan national team from saving the puck in the so-called goalkeeper's area. The referees went to watch the video for the second time, but most likely seeing that the player of the Latvian national team did not poke the goalkeeper of the Kazakhstan national team, or otherwise intentionally did not prevent the goalkeeper from hitting the puck, then it turns out that the national team of Kazakhstan lost the "Challenge", which automatically means that they are 2 minute suspension awarded.

Latvian player did not initiate contact, Latvian player was brought down by Kazakh player by means of holding. After that he had no control over his movement, hence unwillingly knocked down goalie. The call was play on and puck crossed the line. If puck would not cross the line that would be clear penalty shot awarded, not a 2 minute call.

Playoff's still are not guaranteed . Latvia have to win atleast 1 point from Switzerland game or Slovakia cant win their last 2 games. If they win both games and we lose ours without any points gained its gonna be sad news for all of us.

What a dominant performance... Yeah, I agree that the 3rd goal was weird af, but IF YOU WOULD OPEN YOUR EYES, you would see that Butenko was LITERALLY pushing Dzierkals into Shutov... And according to IIHF rules it is still a legit goal. It sucks, but it's reality🤷🏻♂️
Kazakh players were too exhausted after Slovakia game and weren't concentrated enough (said by THEIR COACH) and Latvians gave their everything in this game.
So if you still think that the game was "killed by the refs" thanks to this 3rd goal, STOP THE FUCKING CAP!!!

Это всё отмазки. У других команд график намного лучше? Во первых у всех такой календарь . Во вторых хоть матч Казахстан -Словакия и был напряжённый, но это не матч Каролина-Флорида где матч закончился на 140-ой минуте матча. В НХЛ такой же график , и никто так не оправдывается.

Заслуженная победа, 3 гол спорный, не думаю, так как игрок сборной Казахстана нарушил правила и толкнул его на своего вратаря! Какая разница как грязь наказывать? Yeah, if that would have been a tiebreaker, It would be different, but in this game, after a few minutes I knew Latvia would win because KZ team was visibly tired and slow. But, when they did get those few chances, you could see that they know their stuff and have earned their place in Elite division. Respect to them and wish them well in future games.

All who cry about refs, just open IIHF rules and read before typing something like ''refs killed the game'' its just looks stupid. Okey 6-0 if you want, does it feels better ? LOL :D I watched the whole game, the refs checked this momemt with the 3rd goal twice and it was a good goal, just go read the IIHF rules a bit, before typing and crying, Latvia was way stronger anyway, the score could be 10-0 easilly today.

The defending player didn't do anything illegal. Dzierkals tried to go trough a wall and failed. And "Goals should be disallowed if an attacking Player, either by their positioning or by a "relevant contact”, impairs the Goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within their Goal Crease or defend their goal."
And the amount of you "6-0 if you want" ignorants is really astonishing. If you think that that 3rd "goal" didn't have an impact on the mentality of the team then you are insane.
