And Tracy pressed HER luck well enough to move out of that teeny tiny trailer to a big house! Tracy, her husband Gary, and two kids, with a third one on the way. So she needed that luck on this show. And she got what she rightfully deserved! A PYL Championship!
Tracy Brown walked out of there like a boss Her 5 day total: $40,000 in cash, a rug, coffee & tea set, 46 inch big screen TV, 6 nights in Mexico, 6 nights in Virgin Islands, 6 days in Bahamas, and a 12 day safari trip to Africa
Actually, Chris Kaas' run aired from November 21 to November 29, 1984, the 3rd to last week of episodes before the members of the studio audience plug moved to becoming part of the end of the episode fee plugs listing.
When Tracy Brown exceeded the $50,000 limitation on her 5th and final day, her 5 day total of $57,636 in cash and prizes is so unbelievable when she did retire, while her 2 challengers player 1 Terri had 1 Whammy, and player 2 Jeff did Whammy out hitting his 4th Whammy and can't come back. Tracy Brown and her Husband Gary did move to Lewisville, Texas a Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex Suburb right after her 5 days on the show. May the Whammy bless Rod Roddy and Peter Tomarken.
Well Tracy, that was when CBS first aired it on April 23, 1985, as we were living in Arizona watching your 5 day run on Press Your Luck, after you exceeded the $50,000 limit and walked away with $57,636 in cash and prizes in your five appearances on the program. Thanks for your time on Press Your Luck.
Something rather infamous happened the day this ep aired: Coca-Cola changed its formula (that came in the form of New Coke) for the first time in its (then-)99 year history.
She could have hit something with a spin and then passed to Tracey hoping for an outright win. Conventional wisdom says to pass, but I can't be mad at Terri for not passing. Ask Mabel, Rita and Llewellyn about Winning with 0 and coming back only to still leave with 0
From 9/19/83 to 10/31/84, returning champions stayed until they reached or exceeded $25,000. There was no limit on days nor there was a cap on winnings. From 11/1/84 to the show's cancellation, the limit was five shows or reaching/exceeding $50,000 (whichever came first) with a cap of $75,000. After the limit was changed to 5 days/$50,000, six people went over $50,000 but none reached the $75,000 cap.
I'd like to know what their name tags are made of... So many times you see them get bent... You can see that Tracy's is bent after she tells Peter that her Flokati Rug is the most important prize won at the end.
Of the 450 episodes from February 21, 1985-November 15, 1985 that GSN had the rights to, Tracy Brown was just one of four contestants to retire under the $50K Limit/5-day limit. The other three were Chris Kass ($58,779 in cash and prizes), Randy Melcotter (sp) ($61,316 in cash and prizes), and Bob Brown ($58,232 in cash and prizes).
Terri should've passed her final spin to Tracy for the reasons Peter described. She would've won the game by default w/$0 if Tracy hit a Whammy, but at least she would've got to return on the next show.
13:03 - BAD day for Jeff because of being sent home. Wow! Three in a row and you're out of the game. I don't believe it. Wow! So let's move on to Terri. That leaves the ladies in the game.

Jeff can't come back because he had already whammied out. Neither can Tracy because it's her fifth day and she would be out after five days because you're allowed to stay in the show up to five days as the limit. If Tracy whammies, the two of you gets to come back. Well, Tracy can't because that is her fifth day. So she can't come back after five days. Well that is kind of an interesting situation because if Terri passes to Tracy and if she whammies, only Terri gets to come back the next show.
You may be right about all of them but you made a mistake of the year, it was actually February 21, 1984, not 2/21/85 otherwise you were right after all.
One thing I've been wondering about Larson lately is this: How was Larson allowed to keep every penny of his $110,237 in cash and prizes? I thought per wikipedia (usual caveats) contestants on CBS Daytime game shows from 1982-1984 could keep over $25,000 but no more than $50,000.
Vahan Nisanian he won the 110k before the network instituted the 75k limit. He was the reason behind that limit. Today though, such a limit doesn't exist, so someone on Let's Make a Deal or The Price is Right can technically win as much as they like.
He went 45 spins nothing but $5,000,$4000,$3000 $500,$750,$1000+ a spin other than $2250 and the trip to Brazil which was risky because it had a whammy he cracked the board pattern and then just maintained the inevitable and got $110,237 in a equal of an extended game never gonna see that again but with season two of the reboot coming back soon I do want to see a $500,000+ winner and see someone walk out a millionaire
@@theedspage Of the three who lost on their 5th day up to this point, they all would have finished under 50K had they won. Of the three, Bob had no realistic chance of winning Day 5 (he finished with $0, and the game came down to his two opponents, ending on one of them Whammying out).
Thanks for posting all 5 days of Tracy's run... A real treat :)
What's also amazing: Of Tracy's five days, every single one was a 5-figure win. Quite the level of consistency she was able to pull off, no?
it's PRESS YOUR LUCK. anything can happen.

@tracyrionovanewfs7862 you mentioned planning to do so on your show. God knew you really needed that money.
Something rather infamous happened the day this ep aired: Coca-Cola changed its formula (that came in the form of New Coke) for the first time in its (then-)99 year history.
Terri made a huge mistake not passing the last spin to Tracy. She was basically asking to not get a second chance the next day.
She could have hit something with a spin and then passed to Tracey hoping for an outright win.

How many of you guys want to see Tracy take on the Whammy again with Elizabeth Banks?

Because it's Tracy's fifth and final day, the next show would features three new players.

Nice Job Tracey.

Jeff can't come back because he whammied out.

Why in the hell didnt Terry pass that last spin . I know she wanted money but that was her best bet since she had to get another spin .
Because Terry would have won anyway. Tracy couldn't come back again (due to winning 5 times), so Terry came back in the next episode.
Sorry about that. Peter didn't bring that up either.
There were at least two more after November 1985 to hit over $50K.
