I’m not even halfway done with the video, but it seems like the nurse that helped prep Parker was a great fit for him! I love the way she helped explain everything and play pretend with him to help settle his nerves was absolutely perfect. I hope that made you, the parents, feel more at ease too. He’s such a strong, brave boy!

His nurse in Pre Op was doing an amazing job explaining everything to him and answering all of Parker’s questions. That’s an amazing nurse.

Parker may have been brave but I think it also should be said that Christopher and Jessica were also brave...watching their little one being wheeled into surgery...good job guys.

I absolutely love how you guys don't sugarcoat things with him! Making sure he knows all the things that are about to happen are so important! When i had my back operated on when i was thirteen, my doctors and parents told me exactly what they were going to do and the day of the surgery i wasn't scared at all! kudos to you guys!
Was it scoliosis?
When my friend was little the doctor said if her tonsils got infected they would “just whip them out” and she flatly refused, and only realised years later they didn’t mean with an actual whip!

@@miadagostino9588 i have scoliosis too but i haven't had surgery yet ( i went in the surgery room but something went wrong so they had to cancel) how was yours? Have you recovered yet?
yeah I think it makes kids more prepared and so they are less scared. Although Parker also WANTED to see all that stuff and I can understand that if its a kid that doesnt like needles that you can walk them through it and be honest about whats happening but also it can scare them more if they know TOO much beforehand.
I love it when doctors explain to kids what they are doing but they make it fun and playful so kids are not very scared.
Wish they did that for adults with hospital anxiety 🤪

Rum Flake lol it was a joke, if you had a kid or been around kids you would know kids always ask for in real things, it doesn’t mean they’re spoiled, they’re just answering the question. What a little champion. His little voice sounds a lot like Jakey’s did for a bit. So proud of you, little guy. I love you so much Parker Bug. He did so well, and is so brave. Being a bit loopy is alright. He was definitely adorable though. My little brother cried when they showed him his tonsils, and I definitely fainted... he’s a regular little trooper. Blessings to all of you and I hope Parker heals up quickly.

This was actually really informational because I didn’t know that an IV worked like that. I thought it was a needle that stayed in the entire time.

I have had a few minor surgeries (requiring anesthesia) I can’t imagine doing it as young as Parker was. He was so much braver than me (I asked the doctor like 20 times if they where sure I would go to sleep).

I know this is an older video but I have to say Parker is being so wonderfully positive about the whole thing. I think that is amazing, because even though he's scared he's staying positive, I also love how he was like "If I say anything funny, you HAVE to record it" XD such a vlogger I love it so much.

I was nervous to get shots at the doctor today but I remembered Parker’s bravery, and I made me feel better :). Glad his surgery went well. On a side note, I can’t wait to see Colleen’s baby! Her Instagram post got me so excited!

I realized that Parker and Colleen were in their hospital gowns and had IVs at the same time. It made my heart happy that they were both doing something they were scared about at the same time.
It's like he was there for Colleen and Colleen was there for him in a way

That nurse was so nice! I wish I had nice nurses like that when I was a kid going into surgery! They weren't mean of course, but they just wanted you in & out so it all happens so fast & scary.

I love how the doctors took the time to explain to him everything that is happening. Some doctors get annoyed and rude when people want to know everything thats happening.

I wasn’t probably because I have had two or more ear tubes placed in my ears prior to that operation so I kind of already knew what to expect and I was right it was a piece a cake and I New exactly what they were doing
I’m older then him and I’m get my tonsils out in a few weeks and I’m scared he’s so brave lol

I love how Chris and Jessica just straight up told Parker it would hurt and showed him videos and he should be prepared instead of saying “it won’t hurt” or “it’ll be so fast”. My parents told me how things would just go instead of like some parents getting their children’s hopes up and then makes it hurt more. 👏
