Ren is unfair..He took too much of the talent pool not leaving enough for the rest. lol. You'll see what I mean if you delve into his catalog. Not much that man can't do. I just checked out your video & you got a sub brothers. I liked it a lot. Gave me the feel of a blend of go-go with tinges of bone thugs, some warren G magic with a rock edge to it. y'all KILLED that solo! Well done gentleman! I hope you guys come back for more reactions.

I keep a constant eye out for Ren reactions too. Especially Hi Ren and the Jenny/Screech/Violet trilogy. Watching people's faces as they experience it for the first time is almost as good as the first time I experienced it.

I think you definitely have to bring these two back for more Ren reactions after this one. In some capacity or another it's pretty apparent that they will be able to appreciate and recognize a lot of the different facets that make up Ren and how incredible of an artist he truly is.

4:00 Did you all notice the Shadows that Ren casts? The Dark Shadow is to his right, and the lighter Shadow is to his left. Pretty sure that was by design, but if it wasn't, then I'd call that one crazy coincidence.
Had to be planned, knowing Ren. He even looks down to his right (stage left) in the spoken word section when he says "the darker the shadow it casts." The shadows are dancing as well at the end when he's back to the opening vocals, standing and playing with the lights going crazy.
@@swyts I'm sure it was too, but someone told me it wasn't. He said he's worked with lighting for years, and that it was just a lucky coincidence. I think he's wrong 🙂
@@Lightmane Ha. There are many "happy coincidences" I don't buy, like the 10 second count down on the Nas Halftime retake.
@@swytsYea it's just too prevalent for it to be serendipitous. That being said it reminds of the movie 23 with Jim Carrey. A movie about his obsession with that number as he becomes convinced and obsessed with it's meaning, symbolism and frequency.
Veritasium did a cool video on the number 37 and the math and reasoning behind the number and our own intrinsic abilities for pattern recognition. Sometimes even outside the realm of fact. If we see no obvious pattern we create it to bring reason and understanding to our reality.

per a Ren interview, the audio was done in one take, the visuals were a mix of 4 takes due to them getting booted out of the location before he could get the perfect one shot audio/video take

Pegasus, dude, I just wanna say thanx for helping to blow Ren up, man. I'm a 56 year old Tennessee hillbilly that went straight fanboy when I first saw Hi Ren because it hit me deep, brother. It was legit cathartic for my mental health and I know there are literally millions of people out there that Ren's music and story will help them sway away more from the darkness to play in the light. It's easy to see that you recognize this too, and deserve massive props because you're are playing a huge part in bringing folks to the light. They say all it takes for evil to prosper is that good people stay silent. Goodness reigns, tho', when we raise our voices to bring each other together. So thank you again for using your voice to help spread the word of hope.

I can never get enough of watching people's first time reaction to this... and even after seeing this at least over 50 times (including when it first came out and the hype at that time) I still get the chills each time. And every time I catch something I didn't notice or hear before or that someone (new) points out. And it's very enjoyable to me to watch people sit in awe and enjoy it as much as I do. Ren is something else.

This is a great one. I love it when guests have emotional reactions! Big guy's beard was hiding the lump in his throat, but I could see his eyes welling up and his jaw tighten. He felt it. He might have said more had he not been fighting tears. Beautiful reaction. ❤

This video & song together are brilliant. With his facial expression changes, vein in neck and lights flickering when 'bad' Ren is talking... genius showing the different sides. And when he stands, starts to belt a few lines out... amazing sound. Might be the reverb of the room, but just sounds awesome.

That line hits me hard. My wife took her life in 2020 that way. She battled her own self & lost. Maybe that is why I am drawn to this song/video so much. The ending, a pendulum swaying from dark to light, I'd have to say spot on. She explained in the note she left about a darkness overwhelming her & that year it was too much, too dark. So much battling inside for some.
