for those who don't know how to change the file extension from .txt to .bat, you have to turn on file extensions in the view panel at the top of windows explorer.
w10: view > file name extensions
w11: view > show > file name extensions
or you can directly save the file as a .bat from notepad
Save As > Changed 'type' to all types and add a .bat at the end of the title

I can assure you the random exe you might download is not a vnc client. Most likely it will be a pre programmed malware that it does predefined stuff like scan network, send some files, install bad drivers to your kernel or such and delete itself to avoid detection. It might be a rat or a keylogger as well but not a fricking vnc.

Not necessarily. WOL (Wake - On - LAN) is a thing. I use it on the daily to turn on my machines when I've no where near them. I then use anydesk to control said machines.

because it requires local setup. meaning you can't just be hacked by this randomly by remote. protecting against this is the same as any other virus. videos like this one make me cringe

-Sit on the target pc for 15 mins
-Have admin privilege
-Have access to the firewall
I guess im missing the remote part smh, worthless video you could SOOO Many other/cooler things to a client pc if you had such privileges(harvest passwords/cookies/play with host files/create an ftp connection regardless of the os/install a keylogger etc etc etc) not installing some old software that looks like anydesk but with a complicated installation process
Use quasar its way better than this shit. It doesnt need admin, takes only one minute, just needs client to execute a powershell command or an exe. And theres a built in keylogger, password stealer, ssh and other features
all the target pc needs to do is run the file
