  • I've asked alot of my colleagues about pre-shift anxiety and it is apparent that everyone feels some degree of anxiety before a shift regardless of how many years of experience you have as a nurse. You are not alone, its just not talked about enough. I hope this video helps, but lets create a community where we can talk about struggles in nursing with the intent of helping each other our.     I agree with the working back to back tip🙂I'm a nursing student and I used to work as a part time PCT 3 shifts back to back. And then I changed to PRN status and worked random shifts (rarely on consecutive shifts), and surprisingly, pre-shift anxiety was 100x worse when I worked as a PRN on random shifts!!! I ended up quitting that job. So I really agree on working back to back shifts. At least you know your patients and what you're going in to.
