    Bamboo is the near perfect material to begin replacing plastic containers. It is a very fast growing plant, it is a wonderful material and almost completely free of the need for sprays or fertilizer and it is completely biodegradable and non-toxic.

    Ignoreing problems is securities/safeties by chance and just matter of time. We need to limit ourselves. People lived without plastics and industries happily.

      While it is true that people lived without plastics and industries in the past, it is important to recognize that our world and our needs have changed. Many of the conveniences and advancements that we enjoy today would not be possible without these innovations.
      However, we do need to limit ourselves and our impact on the environment. This means finding ways to reduce our use of plastics and other harmful materials, while also finding ways to make our industries more sustainable.
      Ultimately, we need to be mindful of our impact on the world around us and take steps to mitigate any negative effects. This requires awareness, education, and a willingness to make changes for the greater good.

      I wouldn't say "happily", diseases and starvation were much more common in the past although still existing. We have been trying to improve our living standards with good reason for as long as we have existed. Some foods get greatly prolonged duration with plastic wrap, so its arguable whether the decreased food waste is worth it (not sure, but keep it in mind). For every product where it doesn't save duration I think they should ban plastic package
      But many people spend a lot more than they actually need, and could cut down, and overall could do a lot of things better reasonably. But not all, and not everyone. Some have the option to choose better, more eco-friendly and ethical products for what they need, but not everyone has that. People can be poor and/or have limited access. And the market could easily develop in a direction where there are no truly good alternatives around. Some have various dietary needs and cant make as much changes there. When I had guinea pigs, literally all vegetables my guinea pigs could eat came in plastic. Besides there are lots of issues with what could have happened in the process of producing that ware that you dont see and is almost impossible to keep oversight on, including worker right, animal welfare (not everyone does well on only plants) and a bunch of different ways to harm the environment. Its actually much more complex how to prioritize, but looking at packaging materials and ethic labels like fair-trade would be the easiest most visible for the average person, but that system is not perfect or even reliable.

    What gets me is plastic pollution seems to be a worldwide problem but yet it is not being enforced enough some places have recycling some don't . this has to be an all-out effort of everybody pulling together to make this work, it has to , we all live here.

    Anyone who has had a need of medical help would know that without plastics our medical services would not be affordable or efficient. Plastic packaging saves millions of tons of food waste. Packaging two hinges in unbreakable plastic bubble is not needed.

    Why is it still being made and used then ? Switch back to paper. Or something less harmful

    • @environment4change
      @environment4change  Рік тому +2

      Plastic continues to be made and used for several reasons: its versatility, cost-effectiveness, convenience, energy efficiency, and durability.
      However, many efforts are being made to reduce plastic consumption, increase recycling, and find alternative materials that are less harmful to the environment, such as paper, bioplastics, and other eco-friendly options. Switching to paper or other less harmful alternatives requires a change in consumer behavior, industry practices, and policy regulations, which is a complex process that requires collaborative efforts from various stakeholders, including individuals, businesses, and governments.

      @@environment4change If we can't stop making plastic products, then I'd say there must be tighter and a lot better rules and laws and strict recycling procedures that will not allow dumping in our oceans or else where .we as people can't afford not to do this.Its our home.
