    Ha, PhD student here also working as a domestic. I'm hating the loneliness of academia compared to hospital work and hate how desk based it is....Really helpful to see different stories, thanks

      Mel Gardner there’s a group on FB called Graduate Entry Medicine Applicants 2019, it’s a fantastic support group and full of useful advice

    Hey Ollie, I was just wondering, would it be possible to do some videos where you're catching up with the peers you interviewed in medical school? It would be interesting/useful (esp as a person contemplating applying for med) to see where they are up to now, whether they are enjoying the job, what specialty (if any) they have chosen and why, realities of the day to day, any regrets, would they do it all again etc etc.

    Love this series, just wondering if you knew of anyone who did their first degree with the Open University? I’m currently doing a BSc (hons) Health Sciences with them and am hoping to apply for postgrad medicine when I’m done.

      Yes, me. I did my BSc with the OU before med school. Good luck! :)

      @@kan3d81094 Def not. Have another friend who also did undergrad with OU before medicine; she qualified a few years ago.

    Great video, I'd really love to hear about the ways people funded GEM

    • @thehendentist1959
      @thehendentist1959 3 роки тому +1

      GEM (A101) is funded like an undergrad degree with the exception of a payment of around £3,500 in year 1. This doesn't apply to graduates applying to A100 courses, which need to be self-funded

    Great video and great story. Just a quick question, what’s the age range like at Warwick? Speaking as a future Warwick applicant myself. Good luck with your course

      @OllieBurtonMed  5 років тому +3

      Hi there! I would say the average age is probably about 24-25 on the course but ranges from like 21-50. You get a mix of people coming straight from undergraduate degrees and those retraining after working in something else. Bottom line is it's never too late to start!

      @@OllieBurtonMed Hi Ollie, can you do a video interview on this 50 years old student? I think it would be quite fascinating.
