You seem to be misunderstanding the 'Termite resistance to Matabele raids' metric. From what I can tell, the lower the number, the worse. The Matabele raids will occur on the lowest number, because the AI believes that is the weakest and most ripe for food. Also, the Major workers hamper enemies in combat. (That could be the Minim soldiers, but I have no idea). I wish 5.3 was clearer about the Matabele raid metric, and they would show a timer for how long the defecation mechanic lasts. Also, for the people who are confused, the challenge mode activates the Emperor Scorpion, he will raid you every night.
The minor soldiers are the ones who hamper enemies, the Majors actually apply a flash buff like the Army Ant Majors do (only buffing attack speed instead of Attack)
From what I've seen, even though having more lignocellulose is nice aswell as more fungus. If you have more workers it will increase the food rate by alot bc they will be going for the lignocellulose and having to care for the brood incase any other termites fall. I would say it's a little different from how leaf cutter ants work.
Agreed, I think in this video he focused a little too much on storage space. Probably better to focus on the minor workers to get much better fungus production from the lignocellulose so you can produce and consume actual food much more efficiently
@@Zfast4y0u I wasn't necessarily thinking upgrade em all, just make more minor workers to increase actual conversion from plant to fungus. Having more minor workers still increases your conversion rate. But I also don't have much interest in playing on extreme difficulty, so that bit doesn't matter to me
- The body of Termite Queen. Did they used that for the movie "Aliens (1986)", the "Xenomorph Queen" egg sack. - I've never seen termites attack big bugs.
The termites honestly seem very fun to play as, although fighting with the Minor and Major workers genuinely seems like a waste of time as they're such paper weights. Speaking of which, you should've put some more focus on building and upgrading your Minor workers so the fungus-making-process isn't bottlenecked in the middle step. Also, the cost difference between the Minor and Major soldier isn't that much with the latter being relatively cheap for a Major, so you could have a higher Major soldier to Minor soldier ratio while getting the best of both worlds.
From experimentation this guy played super inefficiently. Minor workers ate vital for quickly processing decaying matter into fungi since they are the ones to do so, but are otherwise useless asides from digging. Major workers gather lignocellulose more efficiently than soldiers, picking up to 15 units of stuff every time they gather while only costing 30 each upgrade. Soldiers only collect about 9 meaning if you send soldiers to gather they take longer and do it less efficiently. The most efficient way I’ve found to win is to have an entire squad of these major workers quickly picks off vast quantities of stuff whilst you turn gathering off for soldiers to kill anything that comes near, with the ratio of major soldiers to minor soldiers being about 50/50 due to the vast quantities of dead leaves you’re gonna be receiving.
The lower number is the worst as it means the Matabele will attack the mound with the weakest resistance highest number means you can just focus on what your trying to do like get more food , soldiers , workers or to save up food for the next raid to stand another chance😊
I wonder if fungus tiles are working as intended, they seem to give 20 base with 10 per upgrade. Piling wood because the regular food storage can store 100 seems strange. Edit: Also the game claims tier 3 workers yield more fungus per wood which makes all the starting workers garbage and best designated to a dead group later on.
i always enjoy watching your videos. little tip, turn the attack off for your minor workers as they have very low health and damage. also the soldiers carry much less than the major workers so it better to use them for defence
I've seen other people's gameplay for this level, and I was curious as to why the emperor scorpion never attacked your nest. Does he invade only at higher difficulties?
Man of the ants that´s the king in termites there is a king and queen
All termites are not female

Did anybody watch the first EOTU video that Mantz played, and then came here? It’s really nostalgic
1.that big termite close to the queen is the king termite.
2.that rainbow lizard is called an agama lizard.
You really should try the challenge modes, and harder difficulties. Its quite fun!

@@Vesmir789 on extreme difficulty, you simply cant afford to make 18 new minor workers and upgrade em to level 3 to gain that 50% more production.

isn't it similar to how leaf cutter ants work with minims?

so excited to play matabele and termites and another colony on release

I got an add on an ant killer right as I clicked this video, how ironic!
I been waiting for this thank you so much

Very nice video, a tip though, I would probably build more minor workers, they were your major bottle neck in food and stuff.
