The fact that June saved her food for later says everything. She makes all food exciting and appealing. And I love how she interacts with wait staff and respects cultures as she dispenses her knowledge and expertise on cuisine
100% agree. So many people seem to act like all knowing informants, like THIS is what/where you need to go. I love the exploration aspect and saving the food in her own containers (esp the chips cause people don't often think of that)
Except for the pig ears that is not appealing 🤢

@@marcya4428 actually I have a very open mind I just don't really believe in eating much meat I really like to eat vegetarian but I'm not fully there yet. I certainly don't eat anything that isn't humanely raised. And everyone has preferences don't they? Is there something you wouldn't eat? I don't know I doubt that I'm ever going to eat a pig ear ever since I don't even eat pork

Something tells me that she will absolutely not allow herself to be molded unfavorably by corporate bullshitism. She’s way too smart and “real”. She’s a force, for sure.
Referring to the subway, June said, "This is the soundtrack of Roosevelt Ave." She is so good with her commentary that she issued this statement of word play without batting an eyelash. Brilliant food. Brilliant presentation.

I like this format better. June has such a great personality, but in the previous episodes where she was making all the meals, she seemed to run out of steam (not intended as criticism; we're all human). It seems like this is more enjoyable for her, thus it makes better content
Couldn’t agree more. When she spoke of the challenges while filming in the meal prep episode my heart broke for her. This seems to be much more manageable!

Really enjoy how they point out other places, grocery stores etc. There is so much on offer, and just 4 items doesn't cut it.
As a Queens almost native (like most of Queens, an immigrant) I tried to have a phone conversation while the 7 train was passing above and it was futile. Also, I had the exact same experience eating a jalapeño at the same restaurant thinking the roasting would have killed some of the spice… big mistake🥵😓😰
When in Queens, you know you are at a good place when the staff speaks very little English (or heavenly accented), they only accept cash, and you are the only one in the restaurant that’s not for their country. Go Queens!!! Woohoo!
Yeah a new format with June!!! Please more of it, so many possible topics for this videos as others already recommended. June is literality the best when it comes to food, because she appreciates the time and effort that was going in the cooking process.

Very nice episode. I also love how everyone else gets to eat, too. So different to the shows in which the host just teased or even "jokingly" abused his (mostly male hosts) team back in the day.
Now we need an episode on working with the leftovers of eating out and how far these 50$ can stretch with little additions like rice or a fried egg. 🥰
I was born in Transylvania and one of my earliest four memories is being given pig ear as a snack by my dad when he and my uncle butchered a pig together. It was sort of grilled. It was delicious. I still love the texture or gelatinous and crunch of cartilage but don’t enjoy the Chinese version so much because it’s missing that smoky char flavour of my first pigs ear. Growing up in Germany & Australia I wouldn’t have ever shared that memory with friends - as no one could relate. I’m loving the fact that UA-cam lets us find these little quirky commonalities between cuisines.

I absolutely love June's content . The way she describes the food makes me curious and want to try things I never would have before. I enjoy and find the videos with Fred and Aaron so comforting to. I can't really explain it. They just make me feel good.

I probably will never visit these places but I love watching this and exploring with you. June is my favorite and while I love Budget Eats I am happy to see her not having to do the normal extensive week of filming that Budget Eats entails. We need more content that's more realistic and everyday and attainable. Aspirational is great but isn't always realistic.

Initially I was disappointed that we finally got a June video but it was only 30 minutes, but this ended up being perfect!! Absolutely love this new series (please make it a recurring series). I vote for South Ozone Park next - a rich history of mob affiliation.

Idk if this is an alternative to the very extensive and I imagine exhausting to edit classic budget eat videos - but if it is - I'm here for it
The sauce served with sel roti at the Nepalese place was tomato chutney (tomatoes, green chillies, cilantro blended together with salt) and the barfi you ate was likely "besan barfi" made of roasted chickpea flour and milk which what gave it that color, pure milk barfis are white in color. Loved this video! Cheers
