    Great review !!!!! Best one on the internet. I think that I'm going to pick one up. I'm 71, and find it hard to enter and exit the one man that I have. My boy brought his LiteFighter from N.C. last week. 20 years in the Army and he says that it's the best that he's used. Thanks again for the flawless video and Thank You for your service.

      It's worth it. I just retired from the Army a couple years ago, and it was the best damn tent I've ever seen in the military. It competes pretty well in the civilian world as well. Quick to set up, and plenty of room inside for you, a pet, and a small day-pack. I wish the Army would get rid of all their giant heavy tents that take 20 minutes to set up, and issue every soldier one of these. Litefighter takes literally 3 minutes to put up if you're in a rush.

    These tents are amazing. Total glamping. I used one of these in the Army, except with the cold weather layer added because it was so cold. You can actually buy TuffSacks for the Litefighter 1, and it can attach to your MOLLE 2 ruck. I love the whole MOLLE ruck + assault pack system + Litefighter 1! It all fits together into one compact, lightweight, rugged package. After I retired, I bought my own whole setup. Really the heaviest thing out of all of it is the water I carry!

    I have been using this tent for my motorcycle tent for a few years now. Love the ease of it, never had an issue with it.

    Great review guys. I'm in the market and trying to decide between the Litefighter 1 and the Fido 1. Don't think I can lose either way. RLTW!

    Good video. I have a Lite Fighter 1 and am very pleased with it. There are many reviews of this tent on You Tube and one thing that no one seems to cover are the guy lines and their attaching points. Also, under those attaching points the Velcro strips that attach the fly to the pole structure. Believe me, in windy conditions this is very important feature that makes this tent a very good performer in heavy wind conditions. It can be like a rock. The only problem is Lite Fighter should provide 4 more stakes so that anchoring the guy lines can be utilized. For that one needs to come up with their own stakes. The guy lines are supplied though.

    I have the same tent & I bought the ground sheet too, still need to order the cold weather cover they make for it. LiteFighter now sells a 'copy' of this tent that isn't made in the US (The FIDO 1) but it also costs less. I guess it's supposed to be good quality though.

    At the 16 min mark. Where you started the door roll. That roll is hiw i was taught back in 1982. So I took it back a few seconds. You are way younger than I. So, either you learned from your father, your trainer or both.
    Can you explain fir sone as to Why it is rolled that way? That is, rolled in & Not out.
    Of all the videos I have watched, Yours is the first video that has this roll.
    There is a reason for that... Could you explain for others...

    Good video, very good camera work and editing. First time viewer, will subscribe.
    If you get the ground sheet, cold weather kit and the tuff sack (carry bag), would enjoy a follow up with those.

    I have the LF1. I'm 6"5". Like the quality and the set up options, but if you are over 6"3" you will not be able to lay down flat on your back without pressing on both ends. If you are this tall or taller, you are better off getting the 2 person tent which is a bit larger. Currently, I just you the fly.

    I wish they would give us a natural non camouflaged tent and not over price them!

    • @smallarmscombatives9901

      They are high but you can get one off eBay for half the price. For non camo options, you can get a marmot tungsten from REI. very similar in design. Thanks for watching. Check out our website www.smallarmscombatives.com/store/c3/BELTS

      Litefighter 1 actually does! They have a plain coyote tan/brown one. I own it. Very nice and inconspicuous on public campgrounds, instead of looking like you're playing Army.

    Looks a lot like my new One Tigris Scaena tent. Except mine is a 2 person. But works well for me and the dog......

    Tyvek works fine for footprint. It can be cut 3 inches shy all the way around, no need to stake it down will protect from ground abrasion and moisture just fine. I love a tent that clips, those sleeves suck and double walled is the way to go for condensation control. 2 doors and vestibules is huge. I'd prefer waterproof zippers over the flap that gets stuck in the zipper and I musta missed the price.

    • @carlcox7332
      @carlcox7332 5 місяців тому

      What I use. I do construction so we never have a shortage of partial rolls of tyvek house wrap laying around leftover from jobs. Bout the lightest cheapest footprint available and if it tears I just cut a new piece

    • @carlcox7332
      @carlcox7332 Місяць тому

      The only real benefit to the actual footprint is if you plan on setting the tent up in the hasty hooch configuration. Which is just the rain fly and floor. The poles go into the footprint gromets instead of the ones on the mesh inner.

    I liked it very much, BUT I had to sell it.
    Not made for a 6.10 guy. If they would make a bit longer, not wider, version, I would buy it again.

    seems cool but i will prefer a coleman bedrock, way bigger, 2 persons, a lil bit lighter, one pole and for only 80 euros, im 182 cm and i did use it a lot till 5 celsius degrees at 1800 meters altitude in heavy rain and wind..

    Not a fair length-assessment with heels against one wall. First, it'd be better to never touch the wall (leave say, one-inch to spare). Second, people sleep with toes as the furthest length, not heels. Third, most people use a sleeping bag, which adds at least four-inches, and often six-inches to length. Fourth, not sure how a military-cot fits, but an air-mattress adds 3"-4" to height, plus aforementioned 6" sleeping bag, this time in height and one can take-off another ten-inches of length (if tent angle is ~45°, 10"-height = 10"-length). After real-world factors are accounted for, it's doubtful 5'10" can fit without touching ends? Much less 6'10"?

      I'm 5 10 and I sleep quite comfortably in mine with a thermarest self inflating sleeping pad and a 35 pound dog.

    • @carlcox7332
      @carlcox7332 Місяць тому

      They also sit on top of the cot and have straps with buckles that strap it to an army issued cot. The cot doesn't go inside the tent. I don't know anyone that buys a 1 person tent and then expects to fit a 6" thick air mattress inside anyway. These tents were originally designed for soldiers to be as compact and light as possible. While taking abuse that they would get in the field. They weren't designed for civilians glamping. They just became popular in the civilian market so they came out with the fido line to keep up with demand. I love my litefighter 1. Like I said, my 35 pound Australian cattle dog is always with me and we've been in some severe weather with this tent. I live 20 minutes from lake Georgetown so we go out probably a couple dozen times a year. When it's raining I'll guy out the rain fly corners tho instead of clipping them to the body and helps with ventilation a lot and prevents any condensation
