Maybe the wood is burned in 'smell parties'. Probably not a correct term but easy to understand. 😊😊
It is an aromatic wood so it could be used for scents for sure. Agarwood is used in oud which is a perfume in the Middle East.
You were lucky that the pushy woman who sold you coconut did not sell wood ( Wood looked massive). 😄
