Same shit happens to me. I feel like I NEED TO SHOW THEM THEY SUCK. It's probably very unhealthy as I get really pissed off and play shit for the rest of the night.
I get mad when a CPU taunts at me, and I have a reason: Sakurai sat there, writing this line of code, knowing he would eventually taunt millions of smash players around the world.

I’m literally in the winning lead... and it just taunts... pisses me off T-T I also find when people taunt, and it does provoke me, I just end up playing better because of my aggressive playstyle that I typically play
Not always. I almost always taunt at the beginning of a match online to show a sense of sportsmanship and good spirit towards my opponent. If they return the taunt, 9/10 times that person will be pretty cool, often saying "GG" with tags or something after the match. I'll even taunt after I get bodied sometimes, showing it as a respect or a "nice one!" Not all taunts are disrespect, and I think the community generally has a good handle on what is or isn't disrespect.
Some people carry knives to 1. Protect themselves in case of an attacker 2. To rob some poor sap on the street who's too busy on his phone to notice It's very easy to misinterpret taunts.
Mario Kart doesn't have taunts, but it has the best "FUCK YOU" game I've ever seen. There's just so many ways to ruin someone's day. People who are trying to regain their speed are sitting ducks, and everyone behind them has permission to ream their ass for no reason whatsoever. Get lightning, wait for everyone to start gliding over a bottomless pit, or for them to get items. Now everyone gets jack shit. Get a blue shell, don't use it, and if the leaders are actually paying attention, they'll hit the brakes so they won't be first. Now everyone's just stalling in place and you can easily pass them, and nobody wants to pass YOU because you can insta-fuck them. Use a star, then if you don't feel like winning, you can juggle some poor soul by backing up and running into them over and over. You can even do this to do the guy in 1st place if he's lapping you. Not like he can defend himself, all he gets are bananas and shells.
and thus why I don't choose to take mario kart competitive seriously in the slightest. The items have way too much sway in matches. Remove items, and you just get people abusing heavyweights and overpowered kart set-ups. Just way too much RNG for my liking. If you like MK competitive, go right ahead.
I don't use the normal Taunts. When I play King Dedede and get a match winning kill or a star or screen ko, I use his crouching move, he just lays down and my friends get really salty over it
Most of the taunts I have ever done online were to show I'm enjoying the game, or during my spawn invincibility after getting cleanly combo'd or spiked to say "yo that was sick".
I taunt: Against CPU's Against cocky taunting players At the beggining of a ditto match After a nice stylish kill After the opponent makes a nice stylish kill (sometimes) Taunting when someone SD's or just when you killed them with a simple back throw or up air is lame as fuck.
lol cpu's tend to get hype when you taunt them, they even pull adv techs on you like PP for spacing or even zawing into tilts and smashes. It's somethng I experience alot when excercising with 99 stocked lvl 3 cpu Marth.
I'm like 94% sure that the level 9 CPU never taunts, at least not in Smash 4. I think they did in earlier games. Luigi will use his taunt if you re-grab a ledge though, learned that the hard way.
Just gonna say this now: I'm awful at this game. I hate when people taunt my deaths, but I try to taunt when I respawn so that we can clear everything up and to show them I'm just trying to have fun. 9 times out of 10, however, they wait for my invincibility to go away and they do some "sick combo xD" on me and taunt it again it really does make me angry.
It's funny because they removed taunts to make people less salty online, but tbagging pisses me off waaaay more and it's even more disrespectful if you know the origin of the word.

There's few things more irritating than losing to a faceless opponent, and something as simple as being able to communicate that you aren't a sore winner/loser would be very alleviating.
I think that every taunt should communicate a different message. Up taunt should be the respect, side taunt should be the "you can do it!" Kind of emote, while down taunt should be the disrespect, as Luigi and Greninja's down taunts damage.
They essentially already are emotes, just not in name. Some taunts clearly are meant to be used as a show of respect and others clearly are for provocation.
I think taunting spamming is useful to show that you don't want to fight here. In Smash 3DS, I hate Jungle Japes. The water is wayyy to high up and is just a "push me into the water" stage for me. So I'll just spend time spamming the taunt button in hopes to show I don't actually want to do anything here and hopefully, the other player will do the same. If the other player accidently kills himself, I'd do the same thing to balance it out. Fuck Jungle Japes 3DS.
Salt cancelling is definitely the most difficult tech in all of Smash Bros, Melee included, especially when it's tied to taunting. Whether in game or in real life, people lose tournaments to it. I'm actually glad a video was made on this.
Because even though they're programmed to do that I get angry at them for doing it. It's as though they become a real person and start trash talking to me.
I must view taunts differently or something, because I usually don't get affected by them... Taunts are usually never a personal attack on the player or anything. Taunting is just for good fun to me. Even when they're _trying_ to be rude about it, it's just an action on a video game. No harm done.
Yes and the kazotsky kick. That literally makes the world peace. And if someone kill you during the dance, every other player around will kill thst person
In my opinion, a very underrated taunt is Pit's " Is That All Ya Got!?" Though, this was a very good and complex video for such a simple topic. Keep up the great work and show me ya moves! Also, fun fact, not sure if this is for every character but if youre metal as Wario, then no noises will come out of the taunts beside the noise when he closes his mouth.
Even though this is a old video I want to bring up something,In TF2 you have some taunts that you use to disrespect the enemy you just killed but you can also conga with the enemy towards your objective
nocturn333 Ugh, taunt parties. I dealt with one once, and actually managed to kick all three of their asses, just barely. I was so satisfied and they all ragequit so fast it was amazing lol.
and I'm that one guy who plays reaper then slow claps when I kill someone playing soldier, junkrat, symmetra, torbjörn, or bastion while also spamming my voice line xd
I loved stringing together taunts to make a create new meaning for example captain falcon's side taunt "Come On" and his up taunt "show your moves" another would be Metaknight's "Fight me" and Pit's "you're not ready yet".
Surprisingly annoying taunts: Ness (hand spark) Zelda (hand wave) Ganondorf (Pulling out sword) Mario (Game Over Pose) Marth (Japanese Talk) Mewtwo (Psyshock Hand) Bowser ("Balancing Act") Charizard (The Dumb Look) Mr. Game and Watch (Bell Rings Combined) Lucario (Small Aura Burst From Hand)
Green Gaming Don't forget Dedede's 360 spin dance, Cloud's Japanese Talk, and Bayonetta's advice to "talk to your mother if you want to learn how to talk to a lady"
Personally, I only consider taunts angering when my opponent taunts after an SD, or after they killed me in a very boring way. But what's even more infuriating is when they change their tag to "You suck" or "No effort", or when they just leave the room. It's just too childish and non-respectful when people do things like that.
NuzzlyLeaf Hit the nail on the head. I don't taunt unless I do a sick combo or a crazy GIMP or something, but when people taunt because I SD or they just hit me with smash attack, I'm like "oooook, cool guy here." Then I proceed to try hard and body them and it usually work most of the time haha
NuzzlyLeaf No offense to you, but when I gannonside its too good to not do the evil laugh that Gannon does. It evokes a perfect mix of disrespect and stupidity that it's just entertaining like, "dude what are you taunting for like you're all triumphant you lost a stock too." At least that's how I see it. I don't like his other two taunts because they are too aggressive and out of context and thus feels disrespectful for that situation.
Because in classic mode you would get more points for taunting while the game ended. We were conditioned to do it in classic modes of games like melee. The points given were 500 and was called Fighting Stance. Now I just taunt after every kill I get.
It always puts a smile on our faces when my cousin and I taunt after one of our deaths trying to show off. We respect each other's pride even when it ends up killing us instead of the intended awesome moment.
I taunt. it's all fun. I'm not into competitive gaming because people get upset at the slightest thing and apparently taunting is wrong. People can't be humble nowadays. Heck, I taunt against computers, my gf, and my cousins and we have a great time and they do the same. I personally don't care if anyone taunts. it's all fun and games
If you guys have played Jojo's all star battles then you'd know how important taunts are in that game after a character is knocked down if they don't tech and are grounded the up character can taunt adding a kinda cut scene for the taunting player and lowering the downed players special meter by a little its awesome to do a huge combo on an opponent adding ending with a taunt and getting another taunt it gets the losing player all salty and has in game attributes that can actually give taunting good reason
CaptainViewtiful98 I do it if my opponent fucked up their attack. Or when I face a try hard and I end up winning just to show Capt. Falcón, Fox, etc. Are easily predictable and tier list are retarded
Super Smash Ultimate Tourney: My Guide To Win Against Students STEP 1: Know Your Character's Moveset STEP 2: Use Your Character's Moveset To Your Advantage STEP 3: Shield If You Hate Being Damaged Like I Do STEP 4 (OPTIONAL): Taunt Because A Taunt Can Harm, Like Greninja's Or Luigi's.
overwatch emotes arent used much anyway, since they are so long. the most common way they are used to provoke is when you think you will get a play of the game, so you emote in BM
I have a example of (let’s call it friendly taunts) if your playing Gandorf and your buddy is playing Sonic when they taunt you and you hear “You’re to slow!” You don’t get mad because Gandorf is a naturally slow character. So you have a laugh and keep playing to me like I said before it’s a friendly taunt.
With Yoshi I do his taunt where he looks like hes saying hello to a fellow yoshi (Down Taunt) and for Shulk dittos I use "Now its Shulk time" Usually people are cool with that.
Same. It doesn't happen that much because I'm a game and watch main. I usually win though. Most game and watches are trash and just try to abuse a luck base move.
6:19 Because it's about the intention, not the action. We're not crazy or stupid, we just realize that sometimes what people do doesn't matter and what they're trying to do is more important.
Taunting is kind of a waste of time because it can leave you open and the other person is just going to get salty and lay on the taunts once they finally kill you
I taunt becaaaause 1: When they get star KOed what else am i supposed to do? stand around and let the camera zoom in on me for nothing? No i'm gonna pose as much as i humanly can lol 2: Shulk says "This is the Monado's power!" in Xenoblade all the time and it's nice to hear it as a reference in Smash (the pose is really cool as well) 3: They get more tryhard so it's easier for me to win 4: They try harder which makes for better improvement on both player's parts
Honestly when I show off as Shulk its purely to hear, "I'm really feeling it", have yet to know what "It" is though. Most of the time I taunt because wow I'm not sucking today, surprise!
RaikoTheSaikou I can agree with all points except the fourth one lol. Playing out of frustration only makes the opponent play worse, they'll only think about killing you and not optimal actions.
Blues Not entirely true. I've taunted MANY different players and some of them actually take it as a wake up call and play better. Granted most of them end up playing worse like you said but there are still a good chunk of players who want the "taunt to get bodied" and know how to get it
RaikoTheSaikou That's usually what I do tbh I'm not the type to get mad over a game lol but I don't necessarily improve when I beat people that do this. I just start playing like I would in tournament
0:09 tbh the donkey kong taunt is a classic, and i perceive it as a "all in good fun" message. It rlly depends on moments, the taunt itself and the character choice. Like a Sonic taunt might aggrivate me more then Olimar one. x)
More games need respect emotes. And you are definitely right with the non taunting actions being used to taunt. In a game called river city ransom underground, you only have a fist bump as any form of noncombat interaction. But if someone whups you and then spams the fist bump that's seen as a taunt. an "in your face!" sort of thing. Even I do it when I take out a greifer.
DUDE back when I was a kid I just really loved the animations and my thoughts on it were a lot more in line with your idea of what an "emote" might be. Especially Captain Falcon's. It was just plain fun, nothing to get offended over.
Can't lie.
*Nothing* triggers me more than when you play an opponent that's complete ass, wins and taunts, then leaves the lobby.
Doesn't it mean you're worse than ass since you got outplayed?
Yes but I have a weird tendency to play badly when others do too. Also counts SDs, lag and stuff
maybe ur just bad
Same shit happens to me. I feel like I NEED TO SHOW THEM THEY SUCK. It's probably very unhealthy as I get really pissed off and play shit for the rest of the night.
Ultra Chicken dude I can relate and it SUCKS
"when a CPU taunts it doesn't make you angry"
HAHA
HAHAHA
YEAH
I get more pissed than i should
Felipe • Me to XD
Cheefoo especially with their frame perfect shields and dodges forcing you to rely on defensive play and frame traps
And fricking project M has them dash dance after kills
I don't know how many times I ragequit because a CPU taunted on me after a kill. Shit be hurting my feelings. 😂😂😂
I get mad when a CPU taunts at me, and I have a reason: Sakurai sat there, writing this line of code, knowing he would eventually taunt millions of smash players around the world.
NAME NAMENAME
Lev 1 cpu jabs you off the edge *taunts* me spikes off *taunts 5 times* CPU: *TRIGGERD*
the level 8 cpu kills me then taunts and then i get mad, it taunts like a person
SAKURAI IS A TROLL

I get mad when CPUs taunt me
AlterLynx yeah I don't care if a person does but if a cpu does it, fuck youuu
Same
especially because the CPU learns! They end up taunting you mid battle too when they previously wouldn't!
I train my Amiibos to taunt.
CloveTHGFan Productions OOMMGGGGGG BRO GG
CPU taunts make me considerably angrier than player ones.
Hey, it's a CPU buff..
Agreed.
Who doesn’t get angry at CPU’s taunting you? It’s a CPU you telling you that you suck ass
And the CPUs don't have sentience so even if you eventually beat them they can't feel embarrassment or shame
I cant be the only one who gets triggered when a CPU taunts me right? lmao
I feel even more disrespected if the CPU taunts me. Like the CPU gained consciousness just to shit talk me. How dare you CPU
Super D Duper damn near wanna destroy the system for developing a conscious.
Me 3 lol
TDP EpicAO well interesting fact CPU level 9 never actually taunt in smash 4. level 8 on the other hand...
TDP EpicAO It triggers me sometimes
Its all fun and games until someone says "gg ez"
*Salt intensifys*
Nah
It's when Falco says : "Piece of cake"
I guess somebody is playing dota.
SpablabookNightcore actually, its all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits
It's 1-10, you're losing. Your opponent gets to 11 and says GG EZ NO RE NOOB.
Suddenly, it's 19-11. You get to 20. one word: KARMA
People taunt to
A.Put someone on tilt

Hokage of gaming usually people will taunt after I gentleman stock for them, which I interpret as them trying to say thanks
3rdDayfan777 yes I taunt at the beginning of every match and refuse to throw a punch until the opponent taunts back. All as a sign of respect.
When I taunt as Ness, I just want the opponent to know that's it's okay either
Super Ness *okey*
Okey
this comment was okay

Super Ness *O K E Y*

@Kerbin *taunts at taunter and getz killed back and the cycle repeatz itzelf*
Pretty impressed with how in depth you were able to get in such a seemingly simple topic. Keep up the good work!
yeah I put the video in my favorites with how analytical it was.
Yeah, I love these videos.
Hey your the person that keeps on commenting on the undertale soundtrack
Tito Manzur that is him
I see you a lot on Undertale OST videos...

Ludwig von Koopa what is this paragraph
Why people taunt: To make their opponent salty.
Cuz they think that they are better than the opponent
How to make the taunter salty. Close the application lmao
In smash bros, I taunt for style.
If I want to anger my opponent, I spam crouch.
Seneca Gray T34B4G!!! :OO
same. Mostly with mr. Game and Watch, because when he crouch he can dotch anything
I do it with inkling because it looks like they’re squidbagging lol
Seneca Gray lmao same
same but with kirby tho
I don't use the normal Taunts. When I play King Dedede and get a match winning kill or a star or screen ko, I use his crouching move, he just lays down and my friends get really salty over it
Ace_Trainer_Julian
Or what about Falco's "DAB ON EM!" (That's his spot dodge)
Have you tried going down for a second, going back up and repeating
Ace_Trainer_Julian wait you like pen(bfb)?
As a certified king dedede main, I see your point
The dedede staple.
Yes
Infinite64 true lol
Infinite64 shut up u stupid ass nigga lol
Don't forget taunting after a funny SD.
Most of the taunts I have ever done online were to show I'm enjoying the game, or during my spawn invincibility after getting cleanly combo'd or spiked to say "yo that was sick".
Infinite64 But I wanna waste time.
Good info, however if a Captain Falcon player doesn't taunt "show me your moves" before a match, that is utter disrespect.
This man speaks the truth
this comment deserves more likes!
My thoughts exactly! This man gets it.
And in a falcon ditto, if one of the two players doesn't taunt "show me your moves", he deserves to ged destroyed. *S W A G O N E M*
Side taunt also works pretty well, but show me your moves is taunt perfection
I taunt:
Against CPU's
Against cocky taunting players
At the beggining of a ditto match
After a nice stylish kill
After the opponent makes a nice stylish kill (sometimes)
Taunting when someone SD's or just when you killed them with a simple back throw or up air is lame as fuck.
Why... would anyone taunt against CPUs?
because it's fun?
lol cpu's tend to get hype when you taunt them, they even pull adv techs on you like PP for spacing or even zawing into tilts and smashes. It's somethng I experience alot when excercising with 99 stocked lvl 3 cpu Marth.
I only taunt in the beginning of the falcon Ditto
I use taunt after witch time
I think taunting is *Okey*
FireSoul MLG
*GOD*
*DAMNIT*
*I* *really* *feel* the effect of taunts
Ben G *I'm really feeling it* too
If you guys like taunting so much, then *show me ya moves.*
FireSoul MLG I hate taunts!
Short Answer: Because we're all sadists.
Neo Machine Thanks !
Dude I see you everywhere! Even on PBG's 10 worst gamecube games vid!
Basically
Also because DOES THAT TAUNT HAVE I FRAMES?
And also to cover yourself during a Shadow Sneak.
I don't know why everyone gets made at me for ducking, im not even taunting. ;)

I get pissed when a lvl 9 CPU taunts lmao
Dangi Kang lvl 9s can not taunt so your lying
Louie Nope ive seen them, i dont know if im mistaking them for lvl 8 when trying a new character but ive seen bots taunt
I've seen lvl 9's taunt too.
Level 9 CPU in Sm4sh only taunt when they win the match.
I'm like 94% sure that the level 9 CPU never taunts, at least not in Smash 4. I think they did in earlier games. Luigi will use his taunt if you re-grab a ledge though, learned that the hard way.

Alex Oh that Sounds too nice for tryhards..
taunting back isnt really gonna help your situation. you have to either beat them, lose, or leave the match
then don't play on 1v1
Alex
Trying not going on For Glory
Smash Ultimate doesn't even let anyone Taunt online
So they rapidly crouch instead
that's what i do with the kirb
T bagging is the ultimate taunt.
Except just crouching with dedede or Luigi's kick taunt
Also wavedashing
Dude I think you forgot you can use Incineroar online which is the ultimate taunt since he as a taunt afther all his move
It's funny because they removed taunts to make people less salty online, but tbagging pisses me off waaaay more and it's even more disrespectful if you know the origin of the word.
The worst part is after a smash match they change their name to "TOO EASY" then leaves.
I think I'm pretty much the only one who taunts at the beginning of the fight as a greeting.
I even taunt after a hype kill just out of hype. Mostly because most of the "taunts" don't even look like taunts. Especially when I'm using my main.
Gadrick Knight I do it as a friendly greeting even in FG matches too, and I main Mewtwo
Gadrick Knight who is your main?
Gadrick Knight I do that too.
I also do it at the start but it’s always out of respect
you're not the only one lol
Gonna answer the question before I watch the video...
Because they can
3:55 Nope, but nice try xD
I can throw random f smashes in a tournament, but will I?
no.
I can punch someone in tournament in the face for taunting but will I?
no. so your argument in invalid and simple minded...
...T-this isn't an argument. If anything, this is just a joke lol
+The-Termanator-II
That's not a good argument. Especially not in response to a joke. Shouldn't call people simple minded when you didn't even think about what you're responding to.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
I always taunt at the start of mirror matches, not to taunt, but more like "Hey, we both chose [x]!"
I've never once heard someone call it that, nor am I going to start calling it that.
Electrical Manga Rinku Eli Actually both terms are correct
Mirror match is valid to say, people say ditto more often in the smash community. You will hear a lot of people in the smash community say "they are playing fox ditto's" and such. I've never seen a tournament match where the players played the same characters and it was labeled a mirror match.
AwesomeFaceProductions Then you gotta check out dem Mortal Kombat tournaments
Same !
I taunt for three main reasons:
1. To salute the other player in Captain Falcon / Ganondorf dittos. If the other player doesn't salute, I both know he's going 200% serious and that he must be destroyed for the sake of memes. Only at the start of each battle.
2. To tell the other player I consider the way he played to take my recently lost stock good, fun, respectable and/or cool. Only during the invincibility frames after respawning.
3. To tell the other player I consider playing against them easy. When they lose a stock, I break their shield, or can just afford to taunt because their pressure is almost non-existent.
EXACTLY
Why would you want to tell someone that they're bad, I think if you're kicking their ass that hard it's obvious. You're just an asshole at that point.
@@lukeh5521 Because I fucking want to. I didn't do it all the time (can't do it in Quickplay now because of crybabies lol), but sometimes I just need to do it.
When the other guy is trash but taunts/teabags when I SD accidentally, or I just know them and I don't like their attitude (too much ego, trash talking, etc.), I just do it. If it's offline they can even go cry to a TO about it if they don't like it (not like the TO would do anything).
Now, a question for you. Why the fuck would you reply to a 2 year old comment?
Having a "respect" emote in Smash Bros alongside taunts would be nice, especially considering Nintendo's tendency to not allow players to verbally communicate online. Of course, this is assuming you even wanted to play Smash Wii U online with how poorly implemented it was, but that's beyond the point...!
I think a "respect" action could go a surprisingly long way to lessen frustration for those of us that don't necessarily have an aggressively competitive mentality. There's few things more irritating than losing to a faceless opponent, and something as simple as being able to communicate that you aren't a sore winner/loser would be very alleviating.
Why not? Taunts are on the D-pad, just make the right one positive and each Character has 4 "emotes", one per direction. Usually, there are only 3.
I think that every taunt should communicate a different message. Up taunt should be the respect, side taunt should be the "you can do it!" Kind of emote, while down taunt should be the disrespect, as Luigi and Greninja's down taunts damage.
Mario's Thumbs Up Or Mario's Up Taunt In Ultimate Is Not That Disrespectful...
They essentially already are emotes, just not in name. Some taunts clearly are meant to be used as a show of respect and others clearly are for provocation.
@@Sypaka like Dr.Mario's down taunt
If Wario taunt's its either disrespect or disrespect. No inbetween.
Catching Zzs Warios taunts are one the few taunts that I find pretty comical even when on the recieving end.
Catching Zzs Oh man i love your vids
Roger Thanks, i love your work in american dad.
Catching Zzs
youre all wrong the most disrespectful taunt as wario is to waste a full waft just to show your dominance.

It is a struggle to use Wii Fit Trainer on Jungle Japes.

Is This The Krusty Krab or when there's too much lag on for glory and you SD to end the game and they taunt
NotAsian i hate when that happens
your profile pic made you're comment funny af
*your
I actually do this all the time lol
But right after I'll SD and give them a homie stock (if they SD'd like at 0 or any early %)
Salt cancelling is definitely the most difficult tech in all of Smash Bros, Melee included, especially when it's tied to taunting. Whether in game or in real life, people lose tournaments to it. I'm actually glad a video was made on this.
The Derp I'm not understanding how that has anything to do with my comment or me as a player.
Idk Stock cancelling is up there
But you're right

I'm offended when a CPU taunts me 😭

But why
Because even though they're programmed to do that I get angry at them for doing it. It's as though they become a real person and start trash talking to me.

I must view taunts differently or something, because I usually don't get affected by them... Taunts are usually never a personal attack on the player or anything. Taunting is just for good fun to me. Even when they're _trying_ to be rude about it, it's just an action on a video game. No harm done.
Mac the higher level of competition you take part in, the worse it feels.
at the start I'm fine but mid match taunting is just inviting to be hit
Mac you must not play games or matches where things are on the line
I mean, tf2 may have cocky taunts, but it also has fun emote like taunts like the conga for example, that was spisificly made to bring people together
It depends on what the character does and says such as falco's up taunt where he kicks his deflector back and forth and says " piece of cake."
i clicked on this video so fast i left sonic mains behind!!! they are too slow!!!
>TFW to fast for sonic mains

Even though this is a old video I want to bring up something,In TF2 you have some taunts that you use to disrespect the enemy you just killed but you can also conga with the enemy towards your objective
I love taunts but I don't use then out of disrespect I use it as a give a good luck at the start of a game
Should've talked about taunt servers where people get mad at you for playing the game.
Well, if it's on "for fun" you're kind of just ruining their fun. If I saw that on for glory though... heck no.
nocturn333 Ugh, taunt parties. I dealt with one once, and actually managed to kick all three of their asses, just barely. I was so satisfied and they all ragequit so fast it was amazing lol.
MY favorite taunt is "Show me your moves!"
+That guy bonus points if its done to zero suit samus.
and I'm that one guy who plays reaper then slow claps when I kill someone playing soldier, junkrat, symmetra, torbjörn, or bastion while also spamming my voice line xd
Jordan Albee *wrong game*
NaCl early in the video they say it's not just smash
He mentions it in this video.
I only taunt if I kill a teabagger, alone
Green Gaming ehh, okey is definitely more annoying than had spark. They both make me laugh
Green Gaming Don't forget Dedede's 360 spin dance, Cloud's Japanese Talk, and Bayonetta's advice to "talk to your mother if you want to learn how to talk to a lady"
Green Gaming IF YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO TA- *TRIGGERED*
ROB's eye glow
To piss you off.
NuzzlyLeaf I play to much Pokémon lol I thought SD was swords dance at first
NuzzlyLeaf
No offense to you, but when I gannonside its too good to not do the evil laugh that Gannon does. It evokes a perfect mix of disrespect and stupidity that it's just entertaining like, "dude what are you taunting for like you're all triumphant you lost a stock too."
At least that's how I see it. I don't like his other two taunts because they are too aggressive and out of context and thus feels disrespectful for that situation.
pete lee Actually, I love ganoncides too! So I don't mind if someone taunts after they ganoncide me because it's usually just in good fun
***** Sure it is.
Because in classic mode you would get more points for taunting while the game ended. We were conditioned to do it in classic modes of games like melee. The points given were 500 and was called Fighting Stance. Now I just taunt after every kill I get.
I miss the special mode based off of the hidden point system. Sakurai really loss alot love for smash.
People only get angry when the opponent taunts to disrespect
@@IAm-zo1bo Ive kinda forced myself to not taunt others because i know how salty i get when someone taunts me
In alot of games i view taunting as a weakness. Clearly ive done something to rile someone up. I take it as respect.

Eathir-Bomb TM good comment john undertale
Idk why, but players taunting doesn't trigger me, but for some reason AI taunting does.
because when you lose to a person theyre more skilled than you when you lose to an ai you worse than a computer

Captain Falcon vs Ness in a nutshell:
"Show me your moves!"
"Ok!"
"FALCON PUNCH!" / "PK THUNDER!"
As a Corrin main, I always start games with his 'are you ready?' taunt.
Idk why I'm just realizing this but MSC sounds a helluva lot like IntroSpective....and nobody has seen them in the same room at the same time...
FlamingHammer Maybe MSC = SpecktroIntive (IntroSpecktive)
If you guys have played Jojo's all star battles then you'd know how important taunts are in that game after a character is knocked down if they don't tech and are grounded the up character can taunt adding a kinda cut scene for the taunting player and lowering the downed players special meter by a little its awesome to do a huge combo on an opponent adding ending with a taunt and getting another taunt it gets the losing player all salty and has in game attributes that can actually give taunting good reason
Dr.Purple AllStar taunting in that game is different
I can´t Taunt
My D-pad is broken
Rip
That's sad, ESPECIALLY when your playing as LUIGI or CAPTAIN FALCON. (C. FALCON: Its obvious. LUIGI: You can't ledge kill will the down taunt.)
The taunt I really hate is
Squid bagging (Splatoon)
Retro Slime I only squid bag if it's an extremely good kill
I only sqidbag if I am trying to squidparty.
I squidbag alone for the sounds.
*Slosh*
Remember When Hungrybox got taunted and then his opponent immediately lost all four of his stocks?
I usually taunt if I manage to land a good kill.
CaptainViewtiful98 I do it if my opponent fucked up their attack. Or when I face a try hard and I end up winning just to show Capt. Falcón, Fox, etc. Are easily predictable and tier list are retarded
dont really mind if people taunt at me, unless its Peach.
how could you hate peach's taunt?

Captain Falcon vs. Mario
GOOOOO
Captain falcon: show me your moves
(mario rushes and F-Smashes him off stage)
Mario: Dont taunt on me.
-Fsmash can't kill at the beginning of a match but okey-
Mario: *gets clapped for not taunting back*
overwatch emotes arent used much anyway, since they are so long. the most common way they are used to provoke is when you think you will get a play of the game, so you emote in BM
*IM REALLY FEELING IT!*
I like when some taunts in smash actually help you
whenever I start a Dito I taunt out of respect
With Yoshi I do his taunt where he looks like hes saying hello to a fellow yoshi (Down Taunt) and for Shulk dittos I use "Now its Shulk time" Usually people are cool with that.
Same. It doesn't happen that much because I'm a game and watch main. I usually win though. Most game and watches are trash and just try to abuse a luck base move.
YoshiGator Shulk dittos must always use "I'm really feeling it" or else they aren't respecting the Shulk ditto
I thought taunting would make the opponent receive more damage... i guess not.
6:19 Because it's about the intention, not the action. We're not crazy or stupid, we just realize that sometimes what people do doesn't matter and what they're trying to do is more important.
Wow you really taught me a lot about taunting and changed my opinion on it. I now see taunting as an attack
last time I came this early. I was dumped.
For the last time, you weren't actually dating Midna.
JustCallMeSchwick XD
Taunting is kind of a waste of time because it can leave you open and the other person is just going to get salty and lay on the taunts once they finally kill you
8-Bit Warrior Respawn time.
I agree. If you kill someone and taunt him, there is a high chance someone is going to kill you.
But then they will try so hard, they are actually setting themself up to die
It's simple. It's a mindgame whoever wins the mindgame wins the actual game.
I taunt becaaaause
1: When they get star KOed what else am i supposed to do? stand around and let the camera zoom in on me for nothing? No i'm gonna pose as much as i humanly can lol
2: Shulk says "This is the Monado's power!" in Xenoblade all the time and it's nice to hear it as a reference in Smash (the pose is really cool as well)
3: They get more tryhard so it's easier for me to win
4: They try harder which makes for better improvement on both player's parts
This definition of taunting is so damn legitimate it would like be encouraging the whole world to taunt now. :o
YES!
Show me your moves
Best taunt of any game ever
Captain Quickscope Falcon Punch to Taunt is a true combo.

Boruto Dog This video is actually topical because recently (I think it was Killer Instinct) banned taunts in competitive matches.
I always thought of Luigi's expression during his taunt more of a look of sadness and depression than boredom.
This video is very well put together
I don't get mad at all and if someone does i just do it back and it will be a taunt party
You can taunt in Splatoon, it's called squidflopping or squidbagging

You didnt say pikamaxi this time. I was waiting for it too.
DUDE back when I was a kid I just really loved the animations and my thoughts on it were a lot more in line with your idea of what an "emote" might be. Especially Captain Falcon's. It was just plain fun, nothing to get offended over.
taunts are just extra motivation to get you back. i tend not to approach recless but to concentrate more
