the beast's transformation is a pepper's ghost effect, similar to the ghosts in the haunted mansion ballroom and the blue fairy in the pinnochio ride. there's a pane of glass in front with the beast animatronic in a hidden room [probably to the left], he's lit up and his reflection is shown on the glass, then the prince animatronic who is actually in the room with belle is lit up while the beast's light is turned off. [this is speculation]
No yeah it definitely is that exact effect, no speculation at all. And you explained how it works in a very simplified but explanatory way, I appreciate that lol. That effect still boggles my mind 😅
The Pepper's Ghost effect has certainly continued to be a reliable strategy for Imagineers to use. It only gets more impressive each time it's utilized in a new attraction!
The prince actually comes from below the stage to be in position just in time and is not there when the scene starts but other than that you're about right.

But you must know this ride is extremely expensive. And it’s all scenes that never include the villains. I hope we get this one day in a USA park there is rumors that we might get it here in California

I wish they added more scenes because it seems that one winter scene was too long and didn’t have enough going on ...wish they had a Gaston scene like him in the tavern singing “Gaston” but other than that I thought it was beautifully done and got me a little teary eyed at the end ballroom scene.
The story takes place in the castle not the village. The village is outside.
Yep all in the castle, but my comment was a suggestion about what they could add...maybe when Maurice comes to the castle and gets locked up instead? It’s missing some other scene in my opinion.

@Theme Park Express, I've been to Japan last summer and I'm surprised to see that everything is kept completely clean. Mainly because I found out that the people who live in Japan are a lot more educated so I'm not surprised that the cast members are wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing. Politeness is also a must in Japan so that's why the cast members in the Disney park in Tokyo are extremely polite towards the guests.
On a side note: I loved your impression of the narrator from the beginning of the movie and the ride looks absolutely gorgeous.
Plus, The Oriental Land Company (and not necessarily Disney corporate itself, which only licenses its various properties) runs Tokyo Disneyland (as well as Tokyo DisneySea) largely independent from Disney executives, aside from when an attraction is being built.

The sets and animatronics were A+, but all that spinning is a no...and I'm someone who DOESN'T have motion sickness!
Japanese Cast Members are the best! The language is inherently polite, and I find the CMs in Tokyo are even more polite than other parks.
The ride felt rather long, which I was surprised by. The animatronics are very impressive, but like you I kind of was hoping for more? I bet I'll feel differently when I get a chance to ride it. To compare, Pooh's Hunny Hunt is my favorite ride in TDL which is very similar, so who knows?
I'm sorry you all couldn't make it out to Tokyo this year! If you want any advice about the parks let me know; I used to live in Tokyo and went to the parks a lot during that time. :)
Also it is CRIMINAL that there isn't a Gaston animatronic!
I was really satisfied with this. Although, I wish they could have shown the Beast and Belle dancing or sitting on the balcony looking at the guests. That would have made me very happy. My birthday was on Sunday by the way.
Ride looks so beautiful so cool .a must ride. Me and mom has been saving for disneyworld/Disneyland. This gives us another reason to save up more since Tokyo Japan is on our bucket list.
Okay, so I am glad you said it because I feel the same way. It's obviously detailed and gorgeous but for example, in the "Something There" room, I expected something to happen since you were circling the room so much and nothing much did.
As much as I really enjoy Beauty and the Beast original and remake movies so much, the ride in Tokyo Disney is such a memorable one!😄❤️👍💚 I gotta say, it’s worth visiting!😊 And that’s why I subscribed to you earlier. Your content is so enjoyable!😇
I may be in happy tears now that one of my best Disney films is brought to life at the Disney Parks around the world!😅 The detail, the story, the creativity, the special effects, the animatronics, even the transformation scene! You actually like the live action remake as well? Cool. While not as good at the original animated movie, I say it remained true to the spirit of things, while giving something new, like LeFou wiseing up and away from a toxic relationship with Gaston
I can’t believe Tokyo has two of the best trackless dark rides with Pooh’s Hunny Hunt and This ride.
Also Poohs hunny hunt is 20 YEARS old!!!

This could really have used an extended 'storming the castle scene', or a scene on the rooftops with Gaston fighting the beast. Even a scene in which we dip outside the castle and see Belle surrounded by wolves and then being saved by the Beast would have made this ride feel a lot more complete. Stunning animatronics, but a bit of a 'meh' ride.
This is what I was expecting, a la The Little Mermaid ride. Seems like a horribly missed opportunity.
Could there have been more? Yes. Was this ride expensive? Obviously. Is this ride still awesome looking? HELL YEAH!

Thank u so much for making this video! Had to hold back the tears as I watched this, as Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite movie! With that beign said, loved the ride! Wish the epic dance scene was more of climax of the ride, but overall looks so incredible and amazing! Beast transformation looked super dope!
This ride looks amazing!!! The only thing about visiting Disney parks in other countries is that a lot of attractions/shows are in other languages.... But I get it, here is USA guests have that issue too...

I was also expecting more I suppose, I thought it would have started outside beast castle but that scene he changes from Beast to man, I was also like 'What scorcery is this?!' the ride looks stunning... And I see you, using Radiation Garden from Kingdom Hearts for the background music because Beast was in it...

It looks amazing. I agree that the animatronics are incredible. I do think they needed an actual scene with Gaston attacking the Beast. It would give the ride a little bit more action. Also, it feels like a large portion of the story was just ignored. I realize you can’t put everything into a ride but just want to see one scene with Gaston.
The winter scene is missing something. Just Belle on one side with her horse and Beast on the other, although the animatronics are fantastic, there’s just nothing much. It feels lacking. It’s just your ride vehicle going around in circles. They need to show the snow ball fight or something to that effect. They just need something more there. They need some kind of action in the scene.
Overall though it’s great. Visually it’s stunning. With the amount of money that Disney spent on this attraction I really hope maybe they’ll finish it up. Make the attraction go from being a great attraction to an amazing attraction!
The irony of them needing "something MORE there" when the song in question is literally titled _Something There_ (and as for the omission of Gaston, the tavern scene featuring Gaston's song is offensive to Japanese culture, so it was omitted & the attraction does take place on the castle grounds, so anything outside of the castle [the village included] would be absent, aside from the shadows of the angry mob coming, pitchforks & torches in-hand).
They could do a whole ride in this style with Disney's most popular songs and riders going between scenes and dancing. It could be an all time great ride
I've just already seen the entire Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast Ride from the other video and it's really magical even though the audio voices are in Japanese. I wished the Disney Company would make more Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast Ride in both Disney Land Paris and Florida as since the new ride is successful in Tokyo then it could do the same for the others Disney land resorts👍.

The animatronics and effects are phenomenal I wish we’d seen more scenes like the Gaston number or even the Gaston/Beast fight. There isn’t much conflict in the ride and they linger on the scenes for too long. WHEN not if they bring it Disneyland/Disney world/Disneyland Paris I hope they add that it
All the parks in other countries get all the cool rides, merchandise, and themed lands!!! I hope one day to visit..

Ik i went crazy when i saw that vid!!
They def put most of the effort into the animatronics and the castle overall! I feel like there were so many missed opportunities. The “teacups” are huge lol they look like bowls!🤣 I liked the dinner scene the best, but the wall projection plates seemed like an after thought. The rooms were so grand but felt really empty. The last scene when everyone is human again, i feel like that should have been a huge celebration! Id say its worth a 30 min wait. 6/10 mickeys 😅
Love the ride, it would be nice to see 1 more room with the big fight scene, but what is the is Awsome. The ride vehicles are cool with the way they move around each room and tilt back and forth as well. I would like to see how they did that transformation of the Beast to Prince on The Imageneering Story on Disney+.
Honestly did expect more from the story but it was still a beautiful ride.

Look up "pepper's ghost effect". It's the commonly used special effect in the Haunted Mansion
I love how they made it they should have made it like the storyline that is what I would do to make it more exciting love the teacups just like the tea pot

9:24 I'm not sure but this is what I think just from looking at the video. I think the table has things that can move to the sides, and then there is a part underneath that rises with the stuff, I don't know that's what I think

i was waiting for something else to happen at the end of the Something There scene, there was just a little too much nothing before the transition! i would’ve liked a little more story, but i absolutely sobbed at the end, it’s so magical ❤️
The ride actually delayed at that scene. There's another video where the transition is right away.

It's a massive ride. Technology at its best. The spinning would probably stop some people from going. The young would enjoy it very much. Yes, the story jumped from one scene to another a little quick. Unless the film was edited .

This ride is beautiful . If you know the movie you know what there saying hahaha but I heard we might get this in California and rumors here are always right when they said about tower of terror being retheme it was right 😂 also there is a better quality of this video now I love how at the end they made it very similar to the movie like at the end when they dance and took you to the glass. Now this is a ride done right. Not like our micky mouse one >>

An interesting ride. I wonder if you (the rider) have any control in the spin of the ride vehicle? Because I am not a fan of spinning. Other than that - I agree animatronics are great, but I think they could do more. As far as comparing BOG to their castle - one is a restaurant & the other is a ride? So - IMHO not comparable

I think when they were dancing The beast could have twirl belle and could have spoke and said Thank you for coming looking at the guests at the end but I liked it

It is awesome,.but it could use more scenes, with about half the time spent in each one.

I thought is was beautiful and amazing. It seemed like the video missed a lot in the rooms.
They put park guests in bowls so the beast can eat at the end of the ride.
We should definitely have this ride in Disneyland Paris and magic kingdom should definitely have this ride definitely changes will happen.

I love it, but I expected a little bit more. I feel like there are too much vehicles in a room at the same time and they move and spin so much. I would like them to move less, because we don't have much time to appreciate the animatronics, for example in the snow scene we nearly have no time to see the belle animatroni closely. Also, where is the Belle animatronic that appeared in the making-of video a year ago and was super fluid? I don't see her!
She is in the preshow along with another Beast animatronic.

This ride was kind of disappointing to me. There's really only three scenes. I know that there was a delay in the outdoor scene, but even without that it was way to long with nothing to really look at. I just was hoping for a lot more. Still looks like a fun addition though.

Thanks for a great sneak peak at the ride. Looks good except for the shortened storyline. Poor Garston, the main baddy and no sighting. Bet the music takes it up a few notches but with copyright👎

a bit meh to be honest... don't get me wrong the animatronics and set design were top notch, but if I had queued for an hour for this I would've felt a little cheated. So you sit in a bowl and just kinda spin around a set piece listening to the main songs from the film. They could have at least chucked in the bar scene with Gaston instead of jumping through so quickly. When you think of the flowing story format of other Disney rides, Pirates for example there is so much going on in each scene, this one just feels a little empty...after the 'be our guest' at the beginning.
They wouldn't include the tavern scene, because it's offensive to Japanese sensibilities, so they omitted it on purpose.
It would've been way more better if this new beauty and the beast ride was in Disneyland California

Certain rides in Tokyo don’t allow filming
The pacing and layout on this is just a disaster. Starting with the stained glass window intro-that needed to be shortened by a full minute. Standing for too long in front of doors that open with no real pre-fanfare, the vehicles should enter a transition space but instead go right into the show. The first number should have had plates etc. swirling in the air, but everything is just really static. The garden scene song should have been edited down so there's not so much filler between Belle and Beast, and there should be trees or something for the cups to glide through. Etc. Etc. If this were done in Dubai it would be a knockout, but in TDL it's kind of a snore. Compared to the new Mickey ride, it's especially sad.
The pluses of the ride are that the detailing in the facade and queue are terrific, the animatronics may be their best ever, and the transformation effect is really well done. I'd rather do the queue and skip the ride.

I was expecting more from this attraction as well. I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion but I really don't care for Beauty and the Beast. Its not bad just not my favourite. There was way to much spinning.
