Toronto Island Park - Ward's Island, Canada Vlog - 14.

Ward's Island is on the east side of the islands, served by the Ward's Island ferry. Unlike Hanlan's Point and Centre Island which are full of picnic areas and BBQ sites, this is the residential part of the island where fewer tourists venture.
Directly across the ferry terminal is the Island Cafe, a soccer field, and the Ward's Island Association Clubhouse.
The Toronto Island community is at the eastern end of Toronto Island Park. People live on Ward's and Algonquin Islands. There are 262 homes and roughly 650 people who live on the Island, including many seniors. As the community has no stores, and no cars (or public transportation), life is very different for Islanders. It can be difficult for seniors, but the hard ones stay!
The Ward's Island beach is located at the start of the boardwalk, next to a small playground and washrooms behind the soccer field. It's the least busy of the three main beaches of the island.
